I don't give a frick about it but I can confirm that myself, my wife, and my friend all had full black rosters on first character created. It would not surprise me if it were slightly rigged to raise their ESG score for whoever did the audit because I assume the auditor will, at most, create 1 character. Low effort ESG score and easy enough to do.

Not even fricking close. Oh man they made exp gain slightly better post-campaign, wow. There's still literally nothing to earn. The grind is still boring as frick. "You can earn levels now!" is not much when the game is not fun to play and levels are meaningless. You're as strong as you'll ever get at level ~40 when you get all your aspects. No reason to push beyond that but by god blizzard will happily push you to play for 200 more hours for no reason.
The changes are good but they aren't close to enough to get me to reinstall this boring shit.
Blizzard really forgot what power progression is over the years. Clear they're trying to catch the normie audience with all their level scaling bullshit but only 2 people in my circle including myself made it to level 50.What is the fricking point of playing if the game just auto-scales you back to where you just were, it misses the entire point of the genre. It's basically an action-adventure game and this genre does not have good enough combat for that.

Your gear and build must suck if you're not absolutely annihilating everything at high levels.
Friends quit before they access to aspects which is the one power bump you feel in the entire game.
They progress, though. Codex aspects are immutable, but you get better ones from gear, and they get better as the gear gets higher level. I'm basically impossible to damage on WT3 right now. I'm wading into 4, but shit right outside town is 13 levels higher and very intimidating.

Only real power bump in the game is access to aspects. Before then you're just keeping up with the scaling. After then you're just finding +1% improvements to what you have. It's boring as frick on either side of it. Shit is supposed to be somewhat consistent, not just once in the game.
Re: the aspect thing. This is what I was talking about. Just because you have aspects doesn't mean you've got the best ones. There are always better ones on dropped gear. I just got this off Wandering Death.
It’s the same deal with catch-up mechanics in wow. They ruin all sense of progression when the next patch will have dungeons giving higher ilvl gear than the normal raids. It’s like they refuse to design their games around anything besides new players

The only great change here is fast travel to nightmare dungeons. The xp change is nice but the game honestly needs like 2-3x the amount of aspects/uniques that it currently has to make it worth playing past l60

Well as it stands hardly anyone bothers with whispers past level 70. It's just not worth it. You get all the crafting materials you will ever need from helltides and they reward far better loot and seem to have a higher chance at dropping uniques. There's almost no incentive to turning in whispers atm. Not even the xp is worth it.

At this point I have no motivation to continue with my lv78 Sorc, as it's all linear and minor upgrades from hereon.
Once the build gets mostly completed I start losing interest, same with PoE which I reach lv80-90ish.

The act 1 rogue's AI always felt even worse to me. She'd back up into a pile of monsters and then immediately die after firing two arrows. At least the act 2 merc relentlessly attacks so you can usually keep it alive with a ton of resist and life leech.
It's fun though even with it's flaws.

The levels matter in this game and that's what's wrong. They fricked up with this game and did practically everything wrong. The items are bad. The leveling priority is bad. The tiers are bad. I can go into Nightmare on D2 and farm it and take items from Mephisto that are just as good in Hell

This is what you want. This is how you get a Shako. It's not a super rare impossible-to-get rare item. It's a necessary item to get further in the game and get the next rarest items and complete builds for your characters. The game needs Magic Find, and more variety in builds. D4, as it stands, is too casual and too shitty compared to Diablo 2. I log into Diablo 4 and stand in town and then log out, and I'm not alone because my nephew did the same thing. The game sucks and made players never want to play an ARPG ever again.
I would rather do 200 useless H Mephisto runs than play any "runs" in D4 because at the end of the day I know there is something waiting for me instead of just WoW stat barf garbage. I've run terrorized Andariel a gorillion times and still not seen one. I've completed the Tal Rasha set and seen two Azurewraths and I've not seen the Shako.

I really don't want to play an ARPG ever again after Diablo 4. I'm simply not interested. Diablo 4 soured everything. PoE's global chat interested me the most, but D2R is even sterile because there's no constant global chat where everyone can talk across the game and inquire about things and talk. The social aspect is missing completely from Diablo 4 and D2R

It feels like a single-player game only because it wasn't played on a social server like SlashDiablo. Diablo 3 had the social aspect with running with people in Greater Rifts and showing off your build. That's what made it fun. You lose the social aspect and you don't have a game. They didn't include a Paladin/Crusader/Angel class because they want more money. And likely I will pay for it because role-playing is what I do in these games, along with finding drops. The weapons are tied to the skills, you don't "swap" between them. Hiding the weapons would take unnecessary effort.

I hit level 60, got bored. I don't mind a long grind but running around nightmare dungeons is tedious, I unironically want a corridor full of mobs and a boss at the end. Also, builds felt pretty limited and time investment was high enough that I cba to keep experimenting once I'd got a good set. I also hated running everywhere and I also wish all vendors just stood in a row next to the teleporter. I'd hate to count up how much of my play time was just running between things.
