It was never an event worth flying out for. I was 5th in line to play the year they revealed Overwatch, and that was a lot of fun. But that kind of thing is dead now, because the concept of an event purely for fans that can attend in person and is by definition exclusionary can never happen again. They make more money selling virtual tickets that offer demo access from home. No need to go in person.
