Do the different weapons actually play well, like how they were in AoS and especially PoR? Or is it kinda like 'juse use this weapon since all the others are not worth it'
closest comparison would be Order of Ecclesia with its very boring level design and bland protag, BS also has boring enemy design with ugly baker faces
It's like MN9, I'm the creator or Megaman.
I'm the creator of Castlevania.
I'm the creator of Star Wars.
I'm the creator of MGS.
This never goes well.
In short, it's the most bland, generic Castelvania.
Basically SOTN without the nice art.
Pretty good but the difficulty is all over the place.
On normal and hard, it's easy to turn the game into a cakewalk using the right shards and food bonuses are also insanely good.
But then Nightmare mode is ridiculously hard, especially at the beginning when you have almost no resources to work with. I don't know what they were thinking giving the first boss an attack that can only be avoided by leaving an enemy alive and using it as cover.
>Pretty good > its a fun play
Walk forward, press X on enemy, I love COD.

My one play through was level 1 nightmare with all of the no-hit boss medals. It took me 3-4 hours each to beat the first boss and then the second (zangetsu). After that, the game and even doing all bosses hitless was pretty easy because you can just grind the frick out of the shards and be a godlike spellcaster even at level 1 for the whole game. I can’t even imagine how easy the game is on other modes. But then again, if I didn’t go for medals, I feel like nightmare would have been easy too. It’s not too bad to just blast the frick out of everything with magic. Now, a level 1 nightmare run with no shards and only weapons? That shit would be insane
Almost everything save for the gameplay is a huge step down from sotn & aria of sorrow. I like iga formula enough that I could look past it's problems but it's far from the spiritual successor I was hoping it would be.
It's fun. Some of the best tracks in the game are in hidden areas though. The retro areas were also super cool. Too bad most won't find them as they are actually well hidden secrets.
It's good but has problems. The main thing is that despite being a Kickstarter thing that took forever, the game is still very obviously rushed. The entire last part of the game is cobbled together out of a gimmick they didn't actually get to finish and a level that was obviously supposed to be in an earlier part of the game (along with its boss which was axed completely).
A sequel would be great, especially now that they should have a much better idea of what it takes to make a game of this scope.
Its actually really fun but some things are cryptic as frick SotN-style.
That aside is really solid and the randomizer is stupid fun. I already discussed with my fianceé that I want to name our 3 future daughtersShanoa, Mirian and Aradia and she said it was fine
If you played all the games by Iga (Symphony, the GBA and DS ones), it's a perfectly fine sequel of the same style that holds up with among them. Only the name isn't Castlevania.
Just as good if not better, except for the music.
it's fun
It's probably better than Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance but it's not as good as anything afterwards.

they have special moves. some of those are super OP with tons of invincibility
you're supposed to spam spells though
it's not very competent, like a fan game.
>it's not very competent
What does this even mean
that it feels like a school project rather than a professional game
>Best of collection
collection yes, best of collection no
It insists upon itself
Honestly I disagree. Whenever I play any other platformer I keep thinking about Bloodstained.
It's fine. It's basically a Best of collection of CV ideas rather than have any of its own. Uglier than CV but it's perfectly fine.
closest comparison would be Order of Ecclesia with its very boring level design and bland protag, BS also has boring enemy design with ugly baker faces
The crafting mechanic sucked but other than that its a fun play

this is less "walk up to enemy press X" than any castlevania ever made
Crafting was fine for weapons, food, and clothing/accessories. Shards crafting was a pain in the ass though.
Gosh am I happy crafting isn't as prevalent in games lately. I'll take a thousand stamina meters over that mechanic
It’s like the only crafting in a game that doesn’t suck.

A bit too safe and the low budget did it no favors visually but it's a decent enough Igavania
It's pretty decent
Just as good as the IGAvanias and better than CotM
Curse of the Moon was better
it's pretty much the perfect sequel to a symphony of the night/dawn of sorrow/Order of Ecclesia type of castlevania
It's worse than the worst IGAvania but it's still good. Play it after you've beaten every other castlevania game if you still want more.
I just played Curse of the Moon recently, great game.
Ritual of the Night is actual garbage lmao. It's like if you took Dawn of Sorrow and then doubled down on everything that sucks about that game.
Pic unrelated.
I love my wife Bloodless
its a shame bloodsteal sucks
It's useful
It's fun
It's alright, not amazing or anything but I got my $25 worth out of it or however much it cost on release
it's fine

it's so uglay
Rubbish level design, animation and writing. Truly awful art direction, and finally mediocre music tops it off.
It's about what you'd expect a fan game to be like.
I agree wholeheartedly on the animation. Whoever does the animations fricking sucks.
It's better than most of them.
It's fun. Some of the best tracks in the game are in hidden areas though. The retro areas were also super cool. Too bad most won't find them as they are actually well hidden secrets.
map is too small
Gameplay super fun and snappy
Filled to the brim with content
Music is great
Graphics and art direction kinda suck.
8/10 game imo. I hope they make a sequel that doesn't look as ugly and is a little more refined.

I love grinding the shards to the point of becoming this unstoppable demi-god. Yeah it's a little ugly but well worth playing.
i only played it when it came out in 2019, should I replay?

Can't really say, haven't played it yet since my preorder hasn't arrived. It's been five years, surely it'll arrive any day now.
