Le spooky viral game that dies off after 2 months because the core loop doesn't have legs.
The core loop here is much better than Phasmo. It's faster and has more variety already, and some fun shitposts.
But it lacks some sort of skill ceiling or competition endgame to make it last longer.
Trying to beat your quota pb can't be fun for too long.

I don't understand how I haven't seen anybody else acknowledge this. You walk inside, you grab four items, you walk outside. Sometimes you interact with budget SCPs. That is the game.

It has more content that you must enage with. If I am playing phasmaphobia and trying my hardest to beat the game, I walk into a house, see 2 or 3 ghost tips to tell you what the monster is, and walk out. I have played phasma games with friends that last less than 30 seconds, because we found out what the monster is and left.
Lethal company on the other hand, to play optimally you must collect scrap. You are forced to run into monsters, turrets, landmines, jumping pits, steam, locked doors, ect. You must overcome the obsticles to "beat" the game. You can beat a game of phasma just by guessing on the ghost. Also "man in the ship" role is much more fun in Lethal Comp than phasma, and more deadly. From disabling turrets, teleporting allies, opening doors, and guiding your team through a maze of a building. It's really fun, and a much better game than phasma on release.
Pretty much.
Honestly though, Phasmophobia has not improved nearly as much as I had hoped since launch. In a lot of ways, its worse. For instance, the inventory menu is a fricking mess.

The games alright, simple and funny. Not really expecting much. I think some on Ganker are getting their panties in a bunch because the dev is a furry or something. It's a fine time with some friends and random players until the next game comes around.
It needs a bit more wind up like the turret since it follows. Maybe more spread as it does a lot of damage at some ranges. They also removed railing dodging so they could just adjust speed of monsters like Spiders and Thumpers. Maybe make doors slow them down a little more.
It's a better Phasmophobia. Probably helped that some lunatic made a mod that ups the team size.
It's the first party game to come out on pc in ages of course it's doing gangbusters.

Identifying ghosts and taking pictures of doorknobs and disturbed salt is gay, the core loop of Lethal Company is in theory stronger, and has something in common with DRG(bring back stuff from job site worth money) but the combat, monsters and maps are just so fricking bad. Phasma only wins if you feel like playing Clue or imitating Zack Baggins for laughs with your friends.
