It was one dev, yes, specifically a graphic designer that worked on the billboards/banners exclusively, they posted a collage of their work on twitter. I don't know what I'd do in the lead dev's shoes as if he'd sent it back or took it out they'd group together a troony army against him and his game before it even came out.

It surpasses JSR/JSRF but the reality is those games weren't that good and most people who jerk it off really only like the games aesthetics and soundtracks, haven't not touched the games in ages so they don't actually remember how shit they were and BRC only makes a couple of simple improvements to them

I will name some things that JSRF does better. Level design for one. The levels of JSRF has a lot of distinct landmarks like the spiraling Dragon Tower of 99th Street or the huge power lines over the water in Kibogaoka. The levels are great gameplay wise too. They are tightly designed with lots of elements like rails and ladders and obstacles like pits, traffic or simply falling down and losing progress. This makes the levels into very fun platforming challenges that reward skilled play by allowing shortcutting at the risk of falling down and starting over. The Fortified Residential Zone is a great example of this. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk's levels are less thoughtfully designed. They are more like open sandboxes and less like constructed platforming courses. BRC is more of a Tony Hawk game than a platformer so it makes sense in a way but I'd argue that BRC's levels don't live up to THPS either. I can't think of any BRC level that live up to for example New Jersey from THUG with it's great flow and explorative aspect of finding the gaps(specific trick spots). BRC's levels are just kind of empty. Another thing I guess will say isn't objectively worse is how you can't really gain/maintain speed in BRC, unlike JSRF where it's a big part of the game and very satisfying and rewards skill. The constant speed of BRC does make the movement feel fluid in another way so I won't say it's strictly worse.

I agree with you for the most part, but then I look at a level like Pyramid Island that has really great gaps and tricky platforming. Some of it is definitely unintentional design like in the webm, but then there's gaps like that big staircase that's clearly been put there to encourage big jumps and let you rotate the map more quickly.
As for movement, if you approach it the intended way (how you'd play JSR) then yeah, it's really slow and you feel that lack of speed. BRC's boost and manuals are there for a reason though, the pace of the movement and the kinds of gaps you can clear totally changes once you use those mechanics properly. Unfortunately the majority of the levels aren't made with that in mind and it really doesn't take advantage of the systems that it has. It's a shame too, there's a genuinely solid platformer in there if they took the time to push their mechanics to the limits.
Above all else I think the biggest issue the game has is its linearity. Pyramid feels like a total outlier since it gives you such an incredible amount of freedom to go wherever you want. Compare that to the other levels that force you down a specific run or have really uninteresting loops that give you very little freedom. Brink Terminal is the only comparable one and it's blatant how much of a lift it is from JSRF's own Shibuya.
BRC has better level design, you can talk about visuals but again that's subjective. JSRFs levels are generally very claustrophobic and are more like roller coasters with not a WHOLE lot of freedom.

Which is a good thing because mechanically neither jet set games are good platformers. They are hard carried by the aesthetics. There are certain things from JSRF that are better, you might prefer the less snap to movement rails.
But I think overall I just prefer BRC, I will say the fact the other rides just do fricking nothing feels lame.

The robot is paid dlc, unless you mean the dot.exe guy who's in the mall. Oldheads should be all tags, but you might need to do one of the brink terminal ones a couple times because it resets a bunch. There's a bugged one on mataan as well, if you do it before the story ends it will permanently softlock you from getting oldheads

It's in Toy Toy Town, but it's easier to show you the spot than explain it. It's not a tag you're supposed to be able to reach in a regular playthrough because the grinds to it aren't there during the story, but I went for it because I knew I could reach it and get back to the playable area.

I don't use game's list, since they hardcoded the maximum value. So basically I just wrap their code around with my code, list should be essentially infinite, but with Unity and my codding skills who knows when it will start to fall apart.

r2modman doesn't work with GOG, but it's easy enough to install shit manually. you just gotta follow bepinex's manual install guide, and then drop mods in the bepin's plugins folder.

On-foot trick, jump, spray to take out basic cops quickly, boost+spray to take out riot cops, just trick+spray snipers.

Not to belittle, but to me that's not impressive. Anyone can grind and infinite rail and spam moves until they get to a ridiculous number. What impresses me are the ones where they get an absurd multiplier, where they've clearly routed as much of the map as they can and then they finish the combo in a difficult to reach spot.

What are somethings you guys think Bomb Rush does great over JSRF so far? I like that the game actually make you feel like you have a crew. Having your gang grind with you is so cool. Soundtrack is pretty good too
I agree with that. In JSRF you only interact with your crew when you're recruiting a member, when you're in the garage, or when you're rescuing Yo-yo.
The gameplay. Everything else is worse.

Played JSRF for the first time (wasn't expecting my shitty PC to be able to run the emulator but it works perfectly fine, technology is amazing). Anyway holy frick this game is so jank and clunky, I don't remember JSR being this bad. Graffiti is an improvement from JSR. I like the minigame from BRC, but being able to keep moving while spraying is cool, perhaps there's a way to combine the two. Also the clunkiness and aggressive cars of JSRF adds some fun challenge to the game that's just not there in BRC due to how smooth and responsive movement is. As a last note frick some things in the game are so similar to BRC that they make my head spin. They really just copied the hideout like 1:1 huh?

Levels wise I'll have to replay JSR to refresh my memory. Dances and character designs too (so far BRC is the best with those)
