It's absolutely insane to me that The Witcher 3 will be a decade old in just under 2 years, and yet still looks just about as good as any "modern" game today. When I think about the gap from 2008 to 2018, or 1998 to 2008, I'm taken aback at how much tech progressed, and how little progression we've seen since.

There are plenty of older games that daggerfall that are still good, daggerfall was never good and it was never popular. It's an awful broken and shallow game where you accept a quest from a small list of randomly pre-generated options, open your quest log, double click the quest, then teleport to an awful dungeon generate from a very small handful of very large modules that mesh poorly together, you wonder around for 10 minutes until kill the correct rat, then open up your quest log, double click the quest, and teleport back. That is the WHOLE game. Jesus fricking christ daggerfall is awful. Have you witnessed the game design progression of Ultima 3 to Ultima 6? It's like literally witnessing the Renaissance first hand, and that series spawned a spin off that elder scrolls tried to copy and made a WORSE version. I mean holy frick daggerfall is so bad lmao
