Modern games suck ass and have been sucking ass for 10 plus fricking years.
Souls games started out nicely when they had interesting worlds to explore and when they actually had melee combat but now they have devolved into r1+roll spam. I am sick and tired lf every zoomer praising these games like they hav some sort of Godlike combat systems when shit tier DMC clones in the 6th gen like fricking Ghost Rider had better combat.
I hate that most "action" devs rip off those fricking games now.
Modern japanese games have soulless generic artsytles, every single nu-Falcom game (after YS 7) has a generic stock "anime" artsyle. Games like Gal Gun and Code Vein and Gods Eater and Senran Kagura also have it. Just compare that trash to beautiful art from the PS2 Wizardry game, just to name an example.
Even SMT games started looking like generic trash after Kaneko left.
I fricking hate modern video games with passion. The microtransactions suck dick and encourage devs to not actually design video games but to design a gambling system to recruit whales. Same shit with lootboxes and gatcha.
The westoids mindfcked by israelites and Anglos are now unable to make a good game. Gone are the days of great western games like The Sands Of Time PoP trilogy, and even the Rygar rip off God Of War games. The real time strategy genre has been dead for years so good luck if you like those, same with Guncon games.
Even boomer come backs have been wet farts, DMC V is the same game as DMC 4, just simpler and looking way worse. It also has a shit later half, but instead of repeating the same game again it just puts you into the same shitty tree square and circle arenas until the end of the game.

Kingdom Hearts 3, I haven't played but it's apparently much worse than 2 anyway.
NEO Twewy was worse than the OG too.
Even Shinji Mikami made shit games after Vanquish.
As for Kamiya, the Wonderful 101 was worse than Bayo 1, but he might pull through on this mysterious Ultraman inspired project G.G shit.
I guess from the boomer vets knly Kojimbo somehow managed to scrounge up a somewhat unique game in Death's Stranding after previously consistently shitting the bed with MGS 4, Peace Walker and MGS 5.
This industry is irreparable at this point.
The only way out I see is that maybe in the future, game engines will be so good and easy to make games for that small studios will form again and make interesting mid budget games. But for now that is a far cry from reality.
