I'm gonna regret to inform you, but based on my testing with my 4080 super, it only just barely manages 720p 60fps full pathtracing, especially in the unoptimized rtx remix mods for games like san andreas and max payne. They're good indicators for the future however. So unless you think 540p or framegen from sub 60fps is acceptable, the 40xx series kinda sucks.
Sorry sweety, turns out those 4 extra raytracing cores are what was needed for those pesky 1% lows. Normal 4080 dropped below 60 even at 720p for a split second.
I got 63 on the super at that same spot sweety. Its so over for you.
I personally would have waited for the new series since I'm not happy with the amount of VRAM current cards have. Maybe even the next series won't be enough due to the nature of corporations stifling technological progression for profit.
4070 Super is undeniably a better value, but I don't think you fricked up. In a few months you'll be glad you spent the extra cash and got more frames and 16gb vram.
>12gb vram
uh oh, stinky
let me take a wild guess which card will actually survive the texture bloat in the upcoming games and which will shit itself pathetically
protip: it's not the new one that will be usable

>oh no this new card pulls 10 extra fps compared to the old one, gaming on a 3090 is literally joever now (it still plays all titles at 4k 60fps lmao)
Well since you got it for MSRP, it ain't that bad, hopefully you went israelitevidia because you will be developing games instead of playing them with a better price per frame AMD card.
unfortunately yes.
there's a tool that lets you do a clean CLEAN install of the drivers, i suggest you use that, if you try to upgrade them from an earlier version it fricks shit up pretty bad
do you want to use it mainly for gaming but also want to fiddle around a bit with AI shit? generating images/generating text?
also wanna play VR?
if you say yes to both then the card was the best purchase you could've made
if you want to just play video games, no VR games then you fricked up and should've went with AMD
btw the model you've chosen is the best one >MSRP >quiet BIOS mode >good temps and cooling, low noise
the MSRP Zotac card has a 5 year warranty and slightly better temps/lower noise
but it doesn't have quiet BIOS, if you really want a very quiet system
I'm very happy with my 4070TiS, coming from an RX480
barely any coil whine
when I did benchmark tests with quiet BIOS on and an open case I heard a very faint coil whine when I got close, with a closed case and during heavy loud the fans will always be louder
I only had one case of very noticeable coil whine with some very specific settings during text AI generation on a specific model, not sure what the issue was because I've tested other settings and models that were even more taxing on the GPU without coil whine
I usually pick up high pitched noises in rooms
and I didn't notice any coil whine in games so far
remember that you'll hear reports of coil whine more often on customs that are popular because more people have them
since the ASUS TUF was also used in basically all tests and the reviewers also mentioned the card, most people probably went with it
also the only MSRP card with a quiet bios mode which is a cool feature
I have a 4080 and I play at 1080p 120fps, people will say its overkill but the reality is games are so poorly optimized nowadays especially since everything is early access trash that it makes sense
Playing a game like Arkham Knight at a constant 90FPS on old hardware and then playing modern games that barely look better and not being able to run them even at 60 really shows just how shit optimization is these days.
Will I ever be able to get a card for a decent price?
Still running a 1070 because a new card would have bought me an entire PC back when I first built it. Frick those israelites.
nah
i have a 4070 and it’s a great 1440p card
you could have just skimmed through a benchmark video on youtube and found your answer in the time it took you to take this screenshot, save and post it
that's untrue and you know it

The 4080 Super is almost pointless over a regular 4080 so there's your problem.
Sorry sweety, turns out those 4 extra raytracing cores are what was needed for those pesky 1% lows. Normal 4080 dropped below 60 even at 720p for a split second.

58vs63
I win Black person. I'm future proofed for next gen, you aren't. LMAO
> Play non-raytraced game.
> Gets destroyed by an XTX.
you fricked up.
gpus are about to drop next month
50series won't drop until october
october next year at least.
>Nobody here would be caught dead playing AAA western games
>But they also use AAA western games as benchmarks for their GPUs
Weird hobby.
I use AI text porn generation as a benchmark.
Do you have any games or software that require that much power?
I personally would have waited for the new series since I'm not happy with the amount of VRAM current cards have. Maybe even the next series won't be enough due to the nature of corporations stifling technological progression for profit.
Did the Super lineup fix the 40xx series' fricked up memory bus nerf?
that is fine
i heard DLSS is crap tho
i use 3080 ti
>buying this shit when ai cards are around the corner
you lot have the business acumen of the average Gankertard
What if I don't give two god damn shits about sitting at my desk all day generating porn?
>X game changer is just around the corner
If I was to listen to waitgays, I'd still be gaming on Riva TNT
4070 Super is undeniably a better value, but I don't think you fricked up. In a few months you'll be glad you spent the extra cash and got more frames and 16gb vram.
>buying nvidia
ngmi
its a good card
>not waiting for the 5xxx series
>he's not waiting for the 9000 series
LMAO
There's always a new and potentially better card or monitor or whatever on the horizon.
980 was a good card that could last until now
We will never get a card that will last 5 generations
Just get a 4090 and it will last you 5 gens easily
>5 year old 3090 is slower than the 4070
Lol no
>12gb vram
uh oh, stinky
let me take a wild guess which card will actually survive the texture bloat in the upcoming games and which will shit itself pathetically

>not just time traveling and getting yourself the 28xxx series
Never gonna make it.
bump
I bought a 4060 for comfy 1080p gaming.
Feels good having the most power efficient GPU ever.
>Paying $800 just for a damn GPU
Are PCtards really this stupid?
Yeah, not spending 2k for a 4090 to tower over poorgays is just dumb
Yeah you fricked up, you have an overpriced gpu with no games that you couldn't run already.
Starfield is quite power hungry
>Starfield is quite power hungry
More like its a piece of shit game you should never even download.
What if want to? Stop forcing your opinions down my throat
Well since you got it for MSRP, it ain't that bad, hopefully you went israelitevidia because you will be developing games instead of playing them with a better price per frame AMD card.
Right anon?
>40XX series
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Enjoy your DLSS cards lmao
I've been trying to buy the same model as op but it's sold out everywhere.
I just redeemed a 7900 xt
time to see if the driver memes are real or not
With recent shit you'll be alright
It's the old old stuff that might give you trouble, should be alright nowadays
Enjoy your green screens of death
hasn't this stuff been fixed for a long time already?
It generally goes like this
>buy AMD GPU
>one week of illness and greenscreens
>after they patched it the thing just runs fine
>Buy Nvidia GPU
>just works
>until Nvidia roll out more drivers that make the GPU run worse in order to push you onto the new hardware
bump
unfortunately yes.
there's a tool that lets you do a clean CLEAN install of the drivers, i suggest you use that, if you try to upgrade them from an earlier version it fricks shit up pretty bad
Any issues besides that?
occasional stutter despite being way over spec, but it went away the more time passed and i'm not sure if it was a GPU issue or something else.
for reference, i had stutter in fricking doom, and i'm not talking about doom 2016
Wtf they're making Ti Supers now??
moronic ass naming schemes
Frick Ngoydia
I'm done with it
I'll get a 7800XT for $500
do you want to use it mainly for gaming but also want to fiddle around a bit with AI shit? generating images/generating text?

Heard it has noticeable coil whine. How's yours in that regard?
barely any coil whine

That's a pretty good buy on today's market.
Nope.
actual moron
Explain
I've just bought a 4070 super for 640 yuropoor bucks. I don't think any xX70 card is worth more than 700$. Hell, even above 600$ is too much.
