I'm getting the feeling that it shafts over new players. I don't think you get more rewards compared to boxes which means your brawler levels are going to lag. Chromatic brawlers which are some of the best are going to take years to get with this system.
After taking a closer look at the new system i really am confused on how anyone would think its better. The new brawler unlock system doesnt seem to bad but removing free brawlers from the trophy road and the whole chromatic thing seems kind of dumb. But im even more confused about the whole power system.

The old system was slow but this new one somehow seems even slower really confused on what they were thinking
I never thought I'd see someone actually defend the old shitty RNG power point system. "Slow" is a massive understatement of how long it took to upgrade brawlers through boxes. If you had a new brawler you really liked and wanted to upgrade you would have to grind club league for a week or two just to get them to a viable level. Having all your points go to brawlers you actually like rather than spread out over one you like and several you dont care for is much better. The new system is better in every way except that we're getting less points overall but since most people are gonna be able to upgrade the brawlers they like easier (essentially "maxing out") and the point decrease not being too significant I dont see it much as a major issue.

I've quit Brawl Stars when they added israeliters (Gears), and I wasn't as actively (obsessively) heterosexual back then when I used to play it as I am now (Anime fixed me), so I don't remember this stuff well, and I have to ask -- the art style is your average CalArts shit so of course there couldn't possibly be any cute girls inside that game (only in fanart), but were there at least any female brawlers that wore a skirt, or at least a dress?? The only one that comes to mind is Piper, who wore the typical floor-length princess dress (not satisfying enough), but she had a skin (pic rel) where the dress was more casual and shorter (a bit better). But that's about as much as I can remember. And if Bibi, presumably the only Japanese girl in the game, doesn't have a sailor fuku skin yet, then I'm severely disappointed with this stupid israeli crypto-Chinese (because of Tencent and all that) game.

All in all i'm getting increasingly bored with the lack of gameplay content this game suffers from, The last time we got a new permanent non-ladder mode was fricking CL which is over a year since.

when you get every brawler, all credits you claim automatically go towards fame. so if you have every brawler you should hold out on claiming credits. this slows your progression though if you don't have all brawlers max level because you can't get the bonus reward of credits/power points/gold at the end of the brawl pass unless you want those credits to go towards fame
then i guess just hold all credits except the ones at the end of the brawl pass?

He's top 11 in Kairos list though? Kairos is certainly a shill but I don't see any problems with Grom's placement. He has no self defense without super and can't maintain map control against heavy highly mobile offensive comps unlike the top tier which does well against everything. He has too many checks like Grey, Chester, Bonnie, wallbreakers currently dominating the meta. Could definitely be meta defining if his biggest checks get nerfed

I find that Lex suits my tastes better when it comes to presentation even if the odd jokes here and there are getting old, he's a bit more honest and whenever he has a mixed reaction you can read it on his face even if he doesn't comment much on it.
Also i like Lex's clubs, i know Kairos is in Cactus Bandits too but his involvement in there is otherwise null.

Never forget how supercell essentially nerfed every single starpower and gadget that has absolute numbers when they released power 11 and has done absolutely nothing about it since. The worst example is easily Mortis 1st gadget. Power 9 Mortis has 1260 damage so the 1300 damage gagdet is a substitute for one attack. Power 11 Mortis does 1350 damage. A power 9 Mortis can 3 shot + gagdet a Bo but this same combo leaves a power 11 Bo at 50 hp. How is this acceptable?
People have been pointing out level inconsistencies like this ever since power 11 was first announced. Frick Supercell fricking lazy bums. Won't fix their game but you'll be sure they get their 2 month break ever year.
Worst part is some new characters like Buster and Sam do thankfully have their starpowers in percentages but then others like Gray again has an absolute 1000 heal in his starpower. This is a complete basic design failure.

Can someone explain to me how exactly Frank is balanced. Why in the frick does he have so much health and damage and range. Hurr durr but he has to stand still to attack. Which means precisely frick all if after standing there and you've unloaded everything at him he still has half health and then annihilates you from half the map away.
Frank is super matchup dependent, sure he has a shit ton of health and good damage but he has a lot of counters. Basically any brawler that can either respect his range while doing good damage (Emz, Spike, Collete, Griff, sharpshooters if the map is open enough) or has the CC/damage to beat him down at close close (Gale, Darryl, Chester, Surge, etc). Also he can still get shredded from tanking more than one person.
That being said if you run him into a low damage team like multiple throwers or supports then you can just take over the entire game. He does fairly well in ladder because teams usually arent built very well because matchmaking fricking sucks.
Ah I see, so to beat a broken brawler, you need an even brokener brawler. Of course, it's so simple.

Good start but chester and grey need their supers reworked before they can be considered balanced, grey having old surge gadget that also teleports teammates is a major problem
Grey 2nd gagdet and all other wallbreaking gadgets for that matter are not healthy for the game and are all mistakes. They should frankly all be removed or have like 20 second cooldown when you start the match (this will never happen though).
If they want to keep Grey instant teleport then he needs a damage, hp or range nerf. Any will be fine. But any one will tell you instant teleports are not healthy for the game (Surge used to be good only because of his gadget and that was a teleport with only 3 uses, less range, can't use on teammates and surge had way less health with same damage per shot for perspective). The best thing to do would be to remove instant teleport and buff Grey like his hp or something. But realistically this again will never happen.
Health gear is not fun bcause you have to stay still slowing down the game, release Mandy who has to stay still to shoot further.
Rework gene 2nd starpower because it encourages not using super for more damage which is not fun, release Grom 2nd starpower which again encourages not using super for movement boost.
There's probably more examples I'm forgetting about but why does supercell keep releasing such horribly thought out designs for abilities that encourage playing in ways that make the game less fun

I clearly meant the original health gear, which was reworked because it was mechanically not fun to use. (Staying still for healing in a fast paced game where you should be constantly moving) yet they brought this mechanic of "stay still for a buff" back for Mandy. Its completely moronic. What a surprise the first buff they give to mandy is making the standing still timer less

Well I'm glad you seem to be having fun with Mandy. But standing still to gain buffs is an objectively shit idea and is not fun. Moving and dodging is half the game. The most popular characters are the fastest and most mobile ones. Again not a coincidence the first buff they give Mandy makes her need to stand still less.

Grom has outclassed Dyna as the high dps thrower with a wall break since he was released and Penny outclasses Jessie in every way since the rework. Dynajump isn't even his best starpower or even a good starpower. Jumping away from an aggro just means ceding massive amounts of lane control and letting your mid lane get flanked. Dyna used to have a niche in siege and even then he was outclassed by Barley, both characters have been killed by power creep since.

Kek show gameplay of you winning lane against literally any other thrower with Dyna. 1 buff suddenly makes up for Dynas non existent self defense, shit range, slow attack and low health.
They aren't strong but they're pretty toxic, especially Dyna. Jessie is easy to beat if your team has enough braincells to NOT clump up, but can be strong on maps like Hot Potato.
Meanwhile Dyna can be hard to break through if you don't have a wallbreaker on your team. Even pre-buff he had a free-kill option, his stun gadget. His starpower boosts his super to 4k+ damage, which can kill squishies. Overall pretty fricking annoying but counter-able with a wallbreak. I played solo queue and I used to play him on the siege maps Nuts & Bolts and Some Assembly Required kek, in a map with lots of walls he's a pain in the ass

this is my personal enjoyment tier list,
mostly because of the brawlers I play and my hyper aggressive playstyle.
City Rampage and that 8-bit game mode aren’t worth talking about, so I just drew over those icons with shit that matters. The D is for Duels, the S is for Siege (rip), and the W is for Wipeout.
I stopped playing during Space Dog's season. Why the frick did they remove Siege?
It was the least popular game mode at the time and overall was not well liked. People who mostly played with randoms (majority of the player base) thought it was too team-dependent and found it too difficult to win matches. Not enough people were having fun with the game mode, so when the Eve season came around they removed it. It’s been nearly 1 year since that happened now.
Weekend events (besides Bossfight) are ass, so all go to bottom tier.
I'm ambivalent about knockout, current maps are meh and overall it feels a bit too much of a chore, it's really boring when you die early and have to wait for the next round.
Overall i think all 3v3 modes are equally playable / competitive, the real problem as always is the glue sniffing, rear-headed troglodytes the game wants you to call teammates which make the game at lower trophies a complete shitshow. I mostly play CL nowadays so my experience with 3v3 is the same no matter the gamemode.
Showdown is alright as you can somewhat filter the morons, although games feel like they drag a little too long and it is some bullshit when 2 teams team on you or you get a bad spawn.
I'd put Duels next to showdown, the mode is a chore.
Wipeout is also alright, it's a bit like playing bounty but more braindead, below knockout i think.
Siege suffered from shit maps and badly needed a rework, the average random lacks the critical thinking skills to play siege properly so it was on a whole another level of frustrating.
showdown+ is the best event and if you disagree you are wrong

It feels like when Supercell removed boxes, they forgot that they were the main source of gadgets and star powers. Now they have to buy everything. Two gadgets and two star powers go for 6000 gold that would otherwise be free. If you put gears in the equation it could easily cost 8000 or even 10000 to merely equip a brawler - this is not even taking in account the cost of leveling them to power level 11.
I have saved all gold I got from the pass so far (it's on 40) and the club points. It isn't enough to max one single character. Like, sure, I could get them to level 11, but they wouldn't have gears, gadgets and star powers. This is so shitty.
Oh and just to put in perspective how bad this is. A pass gives you enough gold to max one single brawler. At the same time, each pass introduces 1 new brawler that you have to max, and they also throw some extra brawlers during the year. I strongly feel like people are making negative progress in their accounts.

For comparison Mandy only has 3500 projectile speed and 0.67 tile projectile width. Only in focused mode Mandy has 4200 projectile speed which is the second fastest in the game after Colt with Magnum Special (which gives him +11% projectile speed from 4000 to 4440).

Chester stun was already hugely nerfed from 2 seconds to 1 second, 2100 damage to 300 and used to give over half of your super charge back now gives barely anything. Chester damage and super charge from main attack got nerfed too. He's still decent and stun is still decent but not in need of urgent changes. Just a pain in the ass to play against when he has super cause you have to play like he could have use of his 5 supers.

Interesting idea for a nerf but could potentially ruin Grays viability entirely. Just need super charge rate nerf, damage nerf or delay on 1st teleport.
Just learn to play against him, Brock is not good at all in high trophy range.
The biggest trick when dealing with Brock is that he is is only good at the exact range in which his rockets explode mid-air. If you're closer than that it becomes a nightmare for him to hit his rockets.
Also, Brock's super makes him unable to attack while executing the super. And he can't interrupt the super either. You can use this to position yourself and kill him.
Finally, the rocket jump gadget is 100% trolling because the other gadget is infinitely more useful, so you can always safely assume that whatever Brock you're facing doesn't have escapes. If they do surprise you with that gadget then good news, they're shit at the game.

That's a known thing people do to speedrun a brawler's trophies, but you shouldn't be getting into that situation more than once every few weeks. It happens because the only matchmaking criteria is trophies (both in the brawler and, after some point, account trophies), the power level is irrelevant.

The super seems to have two uses. You either sneak into the enemy team, drop your super and hit them for 3x4k damage thus doing the easiest team wipe ever, or you drop it way behind to attain very fast speed and melee people while having a instant safety button. He's going to be great for gem grab.

Just started playing this a couple of days ago and it's pretty fun! I've levelled Poco up to the point where it's asking me to pick my first gadget. Should I go for the healing one, or the immunity one? I'm leaning towards the immunity one since I'm assuming immunity implies a shield - like one you get when respawning - but it also seems to imply that it's only applied to teammates, not yourself
Healing one for sure. The immunity one often won't be useful, but more healing is always good.

Colt is a high dps long range high skill sniper who's main utility is his wall breaking.
Amber is a mid range low skill area controller with decent burst who's main utility is her pretty good super cycling with 1st starpower. She's also basically moron proof since auto aiming is literally better than aiming with her 90% of the time.

Good question, don't really know tbh, it just makes me angry most of the time.
Despite its flaws I still think the core gameplay is really fun for a mobile game. A lot of the brawlers are appealing design wise and are genuinely a blast to play in casual matches. Despite the game motivating you to play for longer periods of time with stuff like power league and trophy pushing (thats when the flaws really start to become apparent) I still think its great when played in short patches throughout the day, whenever youre on the shitter or waiting for something.
This, since I can't grind for boxes anymore I just play whoever is the daily brawler, and if not that, my favorites for a bit. Frick the fame system, like I care what rank I'm at world wide.

Dynamike got buffed and is overpowered right now, mortis is still good enough that people will try to main him, primo is still bad at least (for now)

With the new "battle cards" or whatever every game starts slower, it's a shitty change in my opinion.
frank is a shitty leader and the whole team is fricking moronic. its obvious at this point. really starting to play less lately.
From what I've seen, a lot of players don't even bother making battle cards, and the ones that do just put some random profile icons and pins, and I can't blame them. I tried making battle cards that fit the brawlers, but it's really hard, like for Grey I wanted to add black and white profile icons to the card, but there aren't any, so I just added his and Lola's icon since they are part of the same trio. I like the idea of battle cards, but all they do is waste your time at the start of the match, like you said. It's a better addition to the game than fame though, at least it doesn't waste your resources that you could've used to unlock new brawlers on a shitty planet with stars on your profile
The battle card update made me realize 95% of profile icons fricking suck, i just have my 4 year and first PL gold rank on my battle card and a random trophy emote.
Also you can instantly notice a kid or some butthole running the thumbsdown emote in the first seconds of the match, so that's nice.
The battlecard lasts for 2s too long though, it's really aggravating if you are just trying to grind.

It revolves entirely around outplaying Eve. Your first AND second pick must be capable of countering Eve, and your third one better be Eve herself.
And what can counter Eve? Not much. As long as she has the jumping gadget, she can avoid brawlers with gap closers like Darryl or Edgar. And by keeping your distance you can dodge most snipers until fog kills them. I've won a few duels without attacking even once, just by dodging people as fog kills them.
The strategy that seems to be working now is first picking Edgar. I can unironically wipe entire teams with him, and I'm playing at 700 trophy range. For some reason no one expects you to enter their bush (the left one from your perspective) at the beginning. Even if I die, I can have my next brawler's super loaded.
If I don't claim my Brawl pass rewards, do I lose them? even if is from 2 previous passes
I think the game just gives you them automatically

It's too long to start, if you're taking that long to get ready then you've got bigger problems and shouldn't even be playing. It keeps repeating unnecessarily for multi stage games, I've seen it once so I don't need to see it again and especially don't need to sit through another loading time.

Just started myself, About 6 days ago.
Having a bit of fun but honestly I wouldnt care if I never could play it again.
I can see the israeliteness approaching me - eventually you'll hit a wall where you won't be able to progress unless you're facing morons because of the sheer stat advantage/gear/gimmicks that you may not be able or willing to purchase for a specific character.
Because I'm still facing a good amount of morons I'm able to slip by with power level 1 and 2 characters in team matches and kill steal to win in solo death match with long range characters.
But on my level 2 Shelly that has the most trophies - when facing people that seemingly have half a brain and a lot of investment into their brawlers - it's not feasible to expect to win solo death match without a lot of luck (kill stealing from morons) because I do not deal enough damage to kill them in one 3 shots - but they certainly can kill me in three shots (often while out ranging me).
Outside of that I could use Shelly as. mostly dead weight/a distraction in some other mode (but shelly probably sucks in general because of how simple and predictable she is).

Yes, but it's younger and not as bad, as you can only play ONE character at a time, so you don't need an entire freaking deck or every character, and you can actually focus on which characters you want to be .
Each season you get enough resources to get one character from nothing to level 11 with a gear, and then some. More if you get the battle pass, which you get for free every other season.

Yes, but you will need to rely on random teammates. Join a club though.

For the noobs. generally focus on a few characters you like, get them to 10 or so, rather than getting everyone to 8. Higher rarity characters doesn't really mean better. You want to assemble a solid squad for power and club league, as soon as you can.
its alright. if you are staying get into a good club, the club coin rewards are great if you are in a decent club. make sure you dont upgrade too many similar brawlers if you want to ever play power league.
