They still won't allow you to store up resources in any reliable way so its not wasted on fame, and therefore you, maxxed player, will need to dump money into the game so your acc can stay a float.

Some of them are really good, but many don't really make a huge difference. They really favor brawlers who can chain supers in quick succession. If you already have power 11 brawlers, then the cost is only 5000 gold, which isn't that bad.

I don't think so. They added getting skins to characters you don't own yet in the last update. But once you hit tier 25 of the pass, you can choose to unlock her without credits.

Despite the Kit nerf I shrugged and unlocked him anyways. He is a beast in showdown but I feel like he is hardcarried by his invisibility gadget. Without that he either relies on having lots of gems by the moment he ran out of gadgets, or (if playing 3v3) he relies on waiting for the super auto-reload to either assassinate an enemy or jump onto an ally, both options are underwhelming.
All in all I'm happy with the showdown cookie cutter tho

Reinstall after about 2 years, frickers made the past anti f2p. Removed the boxes but made it harder to get characters. If you still play it, it's your fault.
Perhaps, but now it's easier to get the specific characters you want to get. Also, since power points aren't distributed randomly between characters anymore, it's much easier to max out the characters you play the most.

I was happy when they introduced credits and with the removal of crates, they weren't bad or anything, but brawl always stood out to me for being a game where you can unlock everything with enough effort, and the paid option doesn't provide that much of an advantage.

Horrific balance and greedy monetization are sinking the game to new depths. They realized they can make a shit ton of money releasing early access for completely busted brawlers. This time its a thrower with high dps, health, and mobility who can summon a shelly every few seconds
Long ass time. Like, at least three years with how they constantly keep adding new characters. But luckily for you, it's much easier to choose which characters you unlock first than before. It used to be much more random and uncontrollable. Look up some tier lists online and try the characters in training mode before unlocking. The rarity of a character has absolutely nothing to do with how strong they are. Even free characters like Shelly and Colt are played in the highest levels of competitive play this game sees.
Depends on your Starr Drop luck. The credit grind is brutal but you get to choose who to unlock.

I would recommend trying out lots of new brawlers you get, and upgrading the ones you like playing the most to power level 9. Gadgets and Star Powers cost gold, so you should maybe watch some "best brawler builds" videos on YouTube, which tell you the ones worth buying.

is wrong, they recently increased the gap in stats between power levels so lvl 9s are much weaker than p11 now, you’ll waste more time losing matches from interactions with lvl 11s as a lvl 9. Choose a brawler that you like and is strong in the meta and max them out. I would choose an A tier brawler because S tiers are always liable to being nerfed into the ground by the moron balancer
I'm not saying that there isn't a power gap between power 9 and 11, but that it's a smaller gap than between power 7 and 9, even with hypercharges. New players will be unlocking many new brawlers in relatively short time. It will feel really frustrating to not be able to play most of them if you're spending all of your resources to hypermax just a few brawlers. Upgrading many brawlers to power 9 is a decent compromise.

They changed it so you get a lot more progression from the pass than before, lots of gold and power points along with helping you get a few new brawlers unlocked. Its pretty worth if you care about catching up >What do I spend them on now? Don't care about cosmetics.

Does it matter? Just unlock stuff that you enjoy playing with. Theoretically Spike is meta but I hate playing that motherfricker. Bibi on the other hand is F tier but I love her and can consistently grind her to r35 both in SD and 3v3 without even tryharding, just having fun.
Also, the game is in an awful state for new people. You will unlock brawlers at a snail's pace. The pass is obligatory for you.
1) Learn how to double bubble gum. You can one-shot over half of the brawlers with this. You can get a free super at the beginning of the match by swapping free hits with whoever spawns next to you (or killing them if you feel confident enough). It's even more funny doing it when you are still 1 attack away from having super because people can't even see it coming. You can even beat people with 10+ gems while having none if you do this in a location that is already good for bubble gums.
2) Use the speed star power and learn how to dodge. It is always the best option no matter the game mode.
3) Learn your matchups. At a high level your fights have super predictable outcome. For example, you have no chance against an Edgar with shield gadget, but he also can't kill you if you save the knock-attack for knocking him away if he jumps on you. Bibi can survive almost every encounter by saving the knock-attack, the only exceptions are Fang and Kit with lots of gems, you can't do anything about these other than spotting them and immediately moving to the other side of the map.
3b) Still on the topic of matchups, there are a few that you should absolutely never lose if you play optimally, such as Mico (learn the timing), Dynamike (with the speed star power you can just walk on top of him and dodge reactively whenever he throws, no need to anticipate it or bait him), El Primo and Edgar without shield gadget
4) Learn how to hit people behind walls. If you auto attack you won't hit them, if you aim so that the edge of your attack just barely goes past the wall it WILL hit them. This is extremely important both for Bibi and for other brawlers with cone-shaped attack.

8) You are arguably the best brawler at betraying teamers, especially with double bubble gum. Use and abuse that (because frick teamers anyway). Bibi is also a brawler that most people perceive as friendly (like primo), you will effortlessly gather teamers around you.
9) Not a specific Bibi tip but high tropy SD is all about playing defensively. Just survive until 4th place. I am not talking about bush camping because that shit is boring (though it works), but Bibi is just a great brawler for being defensive, people should only be able to kill you if they either sandwich you (which is almost always your fault for not having map awareness) or if you let them do so through incompetence.
10) Another general high tropy SD tip that is very easy to do with Bibi: if you find someone that clearly/mathematically loses a 1v1 with you (like Mico), chase them and force them to move around the map. 11) I kill way too many snipers by spending half of the match dodging their shots in the same spot. Like, don't hide behind a wall, just stand in the open and dodge everything they send at you (easy with speed sp). If you get to low health just back out of their range to heal while giving them the illusion that they can still hit you. 90% of sniper players will spend the entire match in this altercation without paying any attention to map awareness. Eventually someone will approach them from the other side, allowing you to sandwich the sniper. Of course you could be the one sandwiched, but Bibi has tons of survivability (especially when one of the brawlers sandwiching you is a sniper) so it is worth the risk imo

If you do all these you will probably not finish #1 in most matches (can't beat the late game Fangs and Edgars), but you will easily finish #4. Thanks to win streaks rising your trophy count should be super easy.

7) Learn what parts of the map make your bubble gum bounce lots of times and stick around them. When fighting people, run away from them and lure them into that area. I assure you there is not one single player in this game (outside of Bibi mains) that think about the potential of the bubble gum when engaging Bibi, you will ALWAYS catch them by surprise.
8) You are arguably the best brawler at betraying teamers, especially with double bubble gum. Use and abuse that (because frick teamers anyway). Bibi is also a brawler that most people perceive as friendly (like primo), you will effortlessly gather teamers around you.
9) Not a specific Bibi tip but high tropy SD is all about playing defensively. Just survive until 4th place. I am not talking about bush camping because that shit is boring (though it works), but Bibi is just a great brawler for being defensive, people should only be able to kill you if they either sandwich you (which is almost always your fault for not having map awareness) or if you let them do so through incompetence.
10) Another general high tropy SD tip that is very easy to do with Bibi: if you find someone that clearly/mathematically loses a 1v1 with you (like Mico), chase them and force them to move around the map. 1) Learn how to double bubble gum. You can one-shot over half of the brawlers with this. You can get a free super at the beginning of the match by swapping free hits with whoever spawns next to you (or killing them if you feel confident enough). It's even more funny doing it when you are still 1 attack away from having super because people can't even see it coming. You can even beat people with 10+ gems while having none if you do this in a location that is already good for bubble gums.
2) Use the speed star power and learn how to dodge. It is always the best option no matter the game mode.
3) Learn your matchups. At a high level your fights have super predictable outcome. For example, you have no chance against an Edgar with shield gadget, but he also can't kill you if you save the knock-attack for knocking him away if he jumps on you. Bibi can survive almost every encounter by saving the knock-attack, the only exceptions are Fang and Kit with lots of gems, you can't do anything about these other than spotting them and immediately moving to the other side of the map.
3b) Still on the topic of matchups, there are a few that you should absolutely never lose if you play optimally, such as Mico (learn the timing), Dynamike (with the speed star power you can just walk on top of him and dodge reactively whenever he throws, no need to anticipate it or bait him), El Primo and Edgar without shield gadget
4) Learn how to hit people behind walls. If you auto attack you won't hit them, if you aim so that the edge of your attack just barely goes past the wall it WILL hit them. This is extremely important both for Bibi and for other brawlers with cone-shaped attack.
5) In maps that have lots of crates in the center Bibi with speed star power can usually get to the center, collect all crates and get out before anyone else comes close. If people come up before you are done you can knock-attack one of them into the other and collect the crates while they fight.

They are right, 3v3 takes way more skill than SD. And it is impossible to climb in SD if you are not teaming to some capacity. I play to have fun and teaming isn't fun to me, but I still make truces and refrain from attacking friendlies until I find an opportunity to kill them safely.
Another autistic thing I like to do is rack up tons of gems and then, when there are only me and 2 other people left, I watch them fight and don't intervene, then kill myself to let the winner get 1st place

They announced today that Buzz's hyper is getting preemptively nerfed. The super only recharges if you grab a wall, so you cannot perma-stun brawlers, but you can chain wall grabs to move around real fast.

From my understanding, all skins will come out a year later. The only exception, are certain retired skins like 8 bit virus, and certain skin from past brawl stars past (trixie collette)

I don't think so. They added getting skins to characters you don't own yet in the last update. But once you hit tier 25 of the pass, you can choose to unlock her without credits.

Despite the Kit nerf I shrugged and unlocked him anyways. He is a beast in showdown but I feel like he is hardcarried by his invisibility gadget. Without that he either relies on having lots of gems by the moment he ran out of gadgets, or (if playing 3v3) he relies on waiting for the super auto-reload to either assassinate an enemy or jump onto an ally, both options are underwhelming.
All in all I'm happy with the showdown cookie cutter tho

I was happy when they introduced credits and with the removal of crates, they weren't bad or anything, but brawl always stood out to me for being a game where you can unlock everything with enough effort, and the paid option doesn't provide that much of an advantage.

Then the awful fricking battlepass with EASILY the worst skin to ever grace this game, seriously, this isn't colette, why make it a skin? Long ass time. Like, at least three years with how they constantly keep adding new characters. But luckily for you, it's much easier to choose which characters you unlock first than before. It used to be much more random and uncontrollable. Look up some tier lists online and try the characters in training mode before unlocking. The rarity of a character has absolutely nothing to do with how strong they are. Even free characters like Shelly and Colt are played in the highest levels of competitive play this game sees.

It's not probably wise to completely max out brawlers as a new player. Power level 9 is the most important milestone for a brawler because it unlocks star powers. Power level 10 and 11 have diminishing returns and they cost tons of gold. I would recommend trying out lots of new brawlers you get, and upgrading the ones you like playing the most to power level 9. Gadgets and Star Powers cost gold, so you should maybe watch some "best brawler builds" videos on YouTube, which tell you the ones worth buying.
is wrong, they recently increased the gap in stats between power levels so lvl 9s are much weaker than p11 now, you’ll waste more time losing matches from interactions with lvl 11s as a lvl 9. Choose a brawler that you like and is strong in the meta and max them out. I would choose an A tier brawler because S tiers are always liable to being nerfed into the ground by the moron balancer
I'm not saying that there isn't a power gap between power 9 and 11, but that it's a smaller gap than between power 7 and 9, even with hypercharges. New players will be unlocking many new brawlers in relatively short time. It will feel really frustrating to not be able to play most of them if you're spending all of your resources to hypermax just a few brawlers. Upgrading many brawlers to power 9 is a decent compromise.
Depends on your Starr Drop luck. The credit grind is brutal but you get to choose who to unlock.
A very long time. I started playing right after the game released and still don’t have all brawlers. Though to be fair I would sometimes not play for months at a time. The thing is that not every brawler is actually worth playing. I have many brawlers still at power level 1 because I just don’t care for them at all. Just make sure to pick brawlers you think will be fun

They changed it so you get a lot more progression from the pass than before, lots of gold and power points along with helping you get a few new brawlers unlocked. Its pretty worth if you care about catching up

Pass still has the best value, but it no longer includes a new brawler. Also, unlocking the pass skins doesn't unlock the brawler if you don't own it.

Does it matter? Just unlock stuff that you enjoy playing with. Theoretically Spike is meta but I hate playing that motherfricker. Bibi on the other hand is F tier but I love her and can consistently grind her to r35 both in SD and 3v3 without even tryharding, just having fun.
Also, the game is in an awful state for new people. You will unlock brawlers at a snail's pace. The pass is obligatory for you.

tell me your secret bro
1) Learn how to double bubble gum. You can one-shot over half of the brawlers with this. You can get a free super at the beginning of the match by swapping free hits with whoever spawns next to you (or killing them if you feel confident enough). It's even more funny doing it when you are still 1 attack away from having super because people can't even see it coming. You can even beat people with 10+ gems while having none if you do this in a location that is already good for bubble gums.
2) Use the speed star power and learn how to dodge. It is always the best option no matter the game mode.
3) Learn your matchups. At a high level your fights have super predictable outcome. For example, you have no chance against an Edgar with shield gadget, but he also can't kill you if you save the knock-attack for knocking him away if he jumps on you. Bibi can survive almost every encounter by saving the knock-attack, the only exceptions are Fang and Kit with lots of gems, you can't do anything about these other than spotting them and immediately moving to the other side of the map.
3b) Still on the topic of matchups, there are a few that you should absolutely never lose if you play optimally, such as Mico (learn the timing), Dynamike (with the speed star power you can just walk on top of him and dodge reactively whenever he throws, no need to anticipate it or bait him), El Primo and Edgar without shield gadget
4) Learn how to hit people behind walls. If you auto attack you won't hit them, if you aim so that the edge of your attack just barely goes past the wall it WILL hit them. This is extremely important both for Bibi and for other brawlers with cone-shaped attack.
5) In maps that have lots of crates in the center Bibi with speed star power can usually get to the center, collect all crates and get out before anyone else comes close. If people come up before you are done you can knock-attack one of them into the other and collect the crates while they fight.
7) Learn what parts of the map make your bubble gum bounce lots of times and stick around them. When fighting people, run away from them and lure them into that area. I assure you there is not one single player in this game (outside of Bibi mains) that think about the potential of the bubble gum when engaging Bibi, you will ALWAYS catch them by surprise.
8) You are arguably the best brawler at betraying teamers, especially with double bubble gum. Use and abuse that (because frick teamers anyway). Bibi is also a brawler that most people perceive as friendly (like primo), you will effortlessly gather teamers around you.
9) Not a specific Bibi tip but high tropy SD is all about playing defensively. Just survive until 4th place. I am not talking about bush camping because that shit is boring (though it works), but Bibi is just a great brawler for being defensive, people should only be able to kill you if they either sandwich you (which is almost always your fault for not having map awareness) or if you let them do so through incompetence.
10) Another general high tropy SD tip that is very easy to do with Bibi: if you find someone that clearly/mathematically loses a 1v1 with you (like Mico), chase them and force them to move around the map. Keep chasing and pressuring them until they run into another player. Watch them fight and kill the winner. This is a super effective tactic that not many brawlers are capable of pulling off, it just so happens that Bibi is super oppressive and can execute it easily against most of the roster.
11) I kill way too many snipers by spending half of the match dodging their shots in the same spot. Like, don't hide behind a wall, just stand in the open and dodge everything they send at you (easy with speed sp). If you get to low health just back out of their range to heal while giving them the illusion that they can still hit you. 90% of sniper players will spend the entire match in this altercation without paying any attention to map awareness. Eventually someone will approach them from the other side, allowing you to sandwich the sniper. Of course you could be the one sandwiched, but Bibi has tons of survivability (especially when one of the brawlers sandwiching you is a sniper) so it is worth the risk imo

If you do all these you will probably not finish #1 in most matches (can't beat the late game Fangs and Edgars), but you will easily finish #4. Thanks to win streaks rising your trophy count should be super easy.

They are right, 3v3 takes way more skill than SD. And it is impossible to climb in SD if you are not teaming to some capacity. I play to have fun and teaming isn't fun to me, but I still make truces and refrain from attacking friendlies until I find an opportunity to kill them safely.
Another autistic thing I like to do is rack up tons of gems and then, when there are only me and 2 other people left, I watch them fight and don't intervene, then kill myself to let the winner get 1st place

But at least gacha "games" tend to have attractive characters/"waifus", so that's something, but Brawl Stars doesn't even have that. All the characters look frick ugly and "progressive".

They announced today that Buzz's hyper is getting preemptively nerfed. The super only recharges if you grab a wall, so you cannot perma-stun brawlers, but you can chain wall grabs to move around real fast.

Oh, and the megapig rewards aren't shared, everyone always gets the same fixed number of 0-20 drops depending how many pig tiers you cleared.
It is moronic that there is no mechanism to deal with this, however, there is one thing you can do to get around it. Always leave one ticket left, if they kick you just join another club and spend it, you'll receive all rewards.
With that said you could also just join a club and actually participate in its activities for the first few weeks, anon. Play a few games with the president and the seniors. Once they acknowledge your presence you can go back to incognito.
