The game takes even longer to load the match, and by the time it start there's already some fricker attacking me with an OP brawler. Also they seem to have removed 7 maps in showdown for no fricking reason, which sucks because some of them provide a little more advantage for long/mid range brawlers, and not only tanks, assassins and legendary (which is like 80% of what everyone uses).
What the frick are they doing?

Everything about her skin is pretty much great. Only thing, I didn't really like her face makeup.

otis is probably the most boring chromatic. only brawl pass i didn't get.
Maybe Meg, all her gadgets and star powers are deffensive. Instead of that stupid tool box that nobody uses they could have given her something like a rocket launcher, a bomb or the ability to break walls with her robot arms, idk.
I like the idea of being able to have a star power that tightens Meg's mech's spread. Instead of hitting a wide area, you would now have a much more narrow projectile path. You could hit only one or two enemies instead of a group, but you could focus on doing damage to a single enemy instead of crowd control.
The toolbox would work if it allowed Meg's mech to deal extra damage but increase the amount of health lost per second. Overcharge it or something.
Yeah, the Deep Sea Brawl felt so empty it's no wonder that the team released a video detailing their plans for the future. I was expecting something along the lines of paintball bombs in the arena that you and your team could shoot to detonate or a pirate queen skin for Penny.
Honestly hate playing as Meg. She's weak on her own, trying to get damage in for the Super is a pain. Honestly, I'd take dealing a less damage if it meant I get to keep the robot instead of it dropping health.

I always thought that Bibi's first hit should stun an enemy if they were to hit a wall, but maybe that might be busted given she can follow u real quick with her swings.

I think Bibi is falling off and what she needs is a mechanism for keeping up with the first hit's knockback. Because right now if a competent enemy is keeping distance from you it becomes impossible to kill them unless you surprise them from a bush or they have their backs against a wall, because your first hit will knock them away from your range.
If it was a star power I'd take it over both of her current starpowers

if you low trophy brawlers, grind it out on them, then their the challenges which will gain you starpoints for beating.

Unless 8-bit can be wrangled into a corner and shut off there, it's a horrible experience
You can cage 8bit in a number of ways, really the only option seems to be to not fight the bots, at all.
I got to insane 16 yesterday using the “get 8bit’s ass into a wall and leave him there” strat. The difficulty (if you are not exploiting the bots AI) is overtuned and the mode becomes nigh impossible around insane 4 or 5.
The entire mode is mechanically flawed for the map is too large and the bots too many to both defend 8bit and take advantage of the extra coins. It doesn’t help that 8bit’s AI is utterly and hopelessly moronic with his love of hugging any enemy in sight, big boss in particular. Healing him is not worth as he will just get himself killed as soon as you do, so in the end you have a safe that you can kite around for a while with far less hp and with harder waves than robo rumble.

Both feel very clunky. But if you're desperate for a new playable character, Gus if you want to play as a team, Sam if you want to solo curbstomp noobs.

Can supercell just accept that Carl is a failed concept and remove him from the game already? He is probably the most broken brawler in the game's history. His entire existence has been either being op as frick or bottom of the barrel trash. He hasnt been, isn't, and will never be balanced and they should just rip the band aid off now before more people leave because of shit balance.
Don't use Carl much, I know they changed his coal gadget and that's it. What makes him busted?
A lot of the problem lies in his main attack, when his attack speed is too slow he cant land his damage consistently thus making him shit but when he can land it consistently he becomes oppressive because its such a good attack (good zoning, can hit brawlers behind walls, can do unload lots of damage using walls to lower reload speed). Supercell doesnt like touching his damage numbers for some reason which would be the best bet at balancing him. Also his super + flying hook gadget + protective pirouette SP make him one of the best assassins in the game.
Carl just has so many delicate pieces in his kit that can make him broken if made a little too strong and shit tier if made too weak. I do not think the moron in charge of balancing is up to the challenge of maintaining him so it would probably be best to rework him or just remove him since his character is annoying as hell anyways
First step to balancing Carl is getting rid of power throw. It's not nearly as interesting a star power as protective pirouette and only serves to make it harder to balance his pickaxe speed because they constantly have to consider how fast his pickaxe will be with this starpower. Carl's pickaxe speed is the single most important and delicate stat in his whole kit and power throw just makes it more difficult to balance. Once they get rid of power throw they can just lower his pickaxe speed by 3% a patch until his win rates are acceptable instead of doing massive changes every 2 months and making Carl op or garbage.
Its not just Carl, Supercell balance team fricking up the meta is on purpose, look at recent changes for example. First they over nerf sandy to oblivion, then they give huge buffs to poco. Poco got insane 14% damage boost. Its obvious poco was going to end up OP, they just wanted to shake up the mid range meta which sandy dominated for so long
Carl's Power Throw has always been a set value, in fact it only got changed (nerfed) once since it was added.
The reason he is OP now is partly because the meta makes his usual counters unviable and partly because the base projectile speed buff made Protective Pirouette the choice star power for Carl.
If anything Protective Pirouette needs a nerf.

This 100%. Having two variables to take into account when balancing is always a headache. I actually like to play Carl, since his kit is quite unique, but he's really a mess.

I won't join your gay club but I will tell you that you're missing huge amount of progression by not being in one. You get 700+ club points per week, which you can use to buy ~1200 power level points for any brawler of your choosing. Every. Fricking. Week.
I don’t get even nearly as many club points. Is it dependent on the club? Like how active the members are? I’m progressing very slowly because my only way to get upgrade material is through chests.
You need to join an active club with almost full members to get the max rewards. The league your club is in doesn't really matter, though it will naturally be high if people are active.

In my eyes, the gadgets are pretty much equal. Shield SP is generally better but the reload one can have some use in heist.

Damage+shield is a useful all-rounder since the star power helps you keep the gear active longer. On really bushy maps, you can opt to switch the gear to speed.

Sam is great fun. Perma speed boost on demand on a melee feels pretty broken. Sadly I don't have the gadget or the star power yet, but he feels like an unstoppable racecar with just his basic kit.
Hate getting his gloves stuck though, and picking them up is a bit clunky sometimes.

I'd say he's kinda underwhelming. Slow attack, bad range, weak Super. The Rage gadget helps though.
High damage more than makes up for slower attack, actually one of the best ranges for a melee brawler and rage + speed gear makes this a non issue, super is great against single target brawlers and helps charge his broken rage mechanic but ill admit its not the best part of is kit. He's broken.

-Leon: 50% health reduction from SP, reduce invisibility by 1-2 seconds
-Sam: 50% healing from SP
-Otis: Reduce damage by 10%
-Gale: 20% damage reduction
-Max: 3 shots instead of 4
-Squeak: 2 seconds less from gadget
-Griff: 5% less healing from SP, reduce super charge rate to about 1.25x what it is rn
-Poco: Revert damage buff
-Carl: Pirouette reduces damage by 15%
-Mr. P: 5% more damage
-Bea: 10% less damage
-Janet: 10% less health and shortened super so she drops one less bomb
-Bonnie: Slower projectile speed in cannon and slower reload speed outside cannon
-Piper: Remove homemade recipe

I'm probably not who you think youre talking to but with the way theyre hyping up this coming update as a turn around for the long painful decline this game has been going down I feel like im not the only one who sees it this way. My biggest wish is that they fix their balance scheduling, a balance patch every 1-2 weeks rather than at the end of each season or emergency nerfs would be enough to keep me going.

However, i would have liked to see more changes in the game modes, brawler progression and trophy road, maybe for the next seasons.
Overall i feel these are nice changes, not awesome but at least they give me some hope for the game.

Didn't they also talk about major revamps to the entire progression system and how you obtain brawlers? I think it's possible they may remove brawl boxes entirely. The change obviously won't come in this update, but they might start revealing information regarding it. Also, for the love of god, hurry with the PvE content and don't frick it up.

How is it barely a rework? They changed how you get them, added different types with rarities, and removed the moronic leveling system. Gears are much better off now, whether its enough to save the game is debatable but its definitely a step in the right direction
they should've made it so you unlock single gears for all brawlers. this doesn't change shit for progression, just switches focus on the currency you waste on them

While I agree that this isn't exactly the biggest update of the year (compared to Clash Royale), I admit it's not a bad update. Could be a bit better, but it's nothing to get mad about.
Honestly, I think they should let each season last a bit longer. I remember Clash Royale fell into a sort of rut pumping out updates that didn't have much in it.

I don't think that the number of brawlers is the issue, but I do believe that the trophy ladder is going to need some rework next after the matter of gears seems settled well enough. Perhaps keeping just the global trophy count and finding some alternative for the individual ones for each brawler or at least something along those lines, allowing players to just keep using the ones they like the most outside of PL instead of having to worry about the whole roster before every reset, thus avoiding making it feel like a chore.

Personally, I think the team should focus less on e-sports and more on keeping the ladder feel less grindy. I think the e-sports focus is too much in my opinion

I do like the Tara skin they have for the esports thing however.
I think we'll get something around Christmas or late November, but for right now, this is a pretty decent update all things considered.
All I really wanted was to have brawler-specific unique gears and they delivered on that. New brawler seems meh. You want your team to spread around the map, so the shield will only protect yourself and no decent opponent is going to shoot it.

Trophy Road is Shelly. Deleting people with her super still feels great as it first did.
Rare is Poco. Very versatile. Not great in damage but great healing.
Super Rare is a toss between Gus and Penny. Gus has good healing and great survivability but Penny is absolutely insane when it comes to dealing damage.
Epic is Bonnie. I know it may be a pleb choice, but I love her playstyle. Aesthetic wise I'd say Bibi, since American-Japanese greaser girls are an absurdly good mix.
Mythic is either Tara or Byron. Tara is great for wiping out enemies but there's something satisfying about Byron I can't put my finger on.
Legendary is a toss between Amber, Meg, and Sandy. I love Amber's mechanic of spray and pray, Meg (while she does lag behind) is pretty fun in mech mode, and Sandy is just great in utility.
Chromatic is either Belle, Colette or Ash. In terms of raw damage, Ash is insane. Belle's one of my top snipers in any situation, and I just like whittling down tanks with Colette. Otis, however, is great for shutting people down, even if he is a bit weird to use.
I know these might be unsatisfying answers but for all the flaws (and I agree that there are some flaws the team should focus on) every brawler has a great aesthetic and play kit. They all feel pretty good to play as and experiment with.

Resident numbergay here, here’s a better attempt at guessing the gear conversion rates than Kairos’ advanced algebra.

>gear tokens 1:270 coins
2.2*100/90 = 2.44 value in Club Shop
270/90 = 3 value
For reference coins are 2.5 and power points are 3.33.
Now for box drops, each draw on average holds roughly 25 coins, 16 power points, 8.5-9 scrap and 0.1 gear tokens.
At the conversion rates above, if they want to keep progression identical, we should see an increase in ~45 coins give or take. That’s a +180% increase in coin drops, nearly triple the coins we currently get; this is nothing special, it’s just that gears are relatively expensive.
Speaking of which, depending on how much they buff coin boxes we may see a high price reduction for gears, here’s the rough equivalent values before each reduction:
>Release: 500/1500/3000
>Price nerf: 350/850/1850
>Rework: 0/0/1000 + room for expansion
Knowing all of this i believe their goal is for every brawler to have 1 mythic gear, 2 epic gears and 5 super rare gears which will bring the cost close to what it currently is.
If the coin buff is less than +180-200%, you can guess why.
Also:
Gear tokens and scrap come at a roughly 1:70 ratio in boxes, for every token you get 70 scrap, this was found out from recording the amount of currency gotten at 2 month intervals over 8 months, without buying scrap or gears from the club shop.
If you are a daily player and have bought every pass for the last year, you should see a return of 180-200k coins, which is enough to waste on almost 5 true gold skins and quit the game, or you could get all your remaining brawlers to p11.
You homosexuals don't seem to understand how little the gear rework actually affects progression. Sure gears might be more fun now with more variety but that was never the biggest issue. The fact is that every new brawler still requires spending more currency on gears, therefore making progression harder. This doesn't change anything for the future of the game
Well you said it, money is what matters the most in brawler progression, the more money the more gadgets, star powers and gears you get. You could be a shitty player and never learn a single shit about how to play the brawler, as long as you have the money you can max anything and win any battle.
In other words, the game takes advantage of the players "lack of patience", because in time you can get enough money to get everything you need to max your brawler, but knowing that the current generation wants to succeed while doing nothing, they'll pay real money to get what they want, and of course the developers know this, because in the end the game is a business. If they gave the chance to progress for a certain amount of trophies or completing brawler specific missions, then the people who pay for this shit would frustrate and leave before giving any money to supercell. Hence the shit doesn't work.
They won't give you shit for free (not even as an option), because they want you and any "free to play" player to get so pissed at any other homosexual using level 11 brawlers in a 200 trophies fight, so they either stop playing or pay to win.
Is either that or you can just get good at the game and stop complaining like a little b***h.

-Super no longer passing through walls
-Remove blustery blow
Either reduce his damage or reduce his utility, he shouldnt be able to stun lock most brawlers to death even through walls
Jess needs a bit of a rework, her attack deals really good damage but her turret is only decently useful if you use it on defense as a way to delay the enemy team, it's pretty bad at controlling areas.
2nd, Gale, Griff, Surge and Emz make playing tanks hell, except for emz they all need to be toned down sligthly.

What would be an interesting mechanic you'd like to see in a brawler?
I was thinking about whose super can "hijack" spawned enemy objects. For example, Jessie's turret, Nita's bear, Penny's cannon. Pam's healing station, etc
When the super hits a brawler, it deals only about 1400 damage. It has no other effects aside from it. When it hits something like Jessie's turret, it deals no damage but instead "tricks" it to attack the enemy team instead of you or your team.
You could have Nita's bear attack her, Pam's turret poison enemies and heal you, etc. The brawler would be good for using enemy tactics against them.
Their star powers would be that the targeted enemy object becomes an explosive timebomb that goes off after a little bit or returns a bit of the damage done by the enemy object back to you as some health.
What other mechanics do you think would be cool?

The importance of gold is also increased since they will keep adding more and more gears to the game and you can only unlock them with gold.

I never use the heal SP on Leon. Speed SP is better imo, with the speed buff you can escape in almost every case and heal at a safe place.

Shit ton of consistent damage with fast reload and fairly easy to hit shots, 4 ammo leads to high burst potential too. Good hp. Good range. Very fast base movement speed. Good gagdet, especially for brawl ball. Big counter crow got gagdet nerf recently. Big synergies with emz and gene and a bunch of other brawles. And most importantly her super is one of the best in the game, speed is useful in every single gamemode for every single character. Whether you're running to point, running away from point, dodging shots, applying pressure, pinching someone with your team.

At level 11 each ammo shoots 4 projectiles that do 510 damage each, meaning she does 2040 damage each ammo if she lands all of them and 8160 if she lands all her ammo (think heist safe). 4 ammo and fast unload speed means she has good burst and can definitely shred close range brawlers. At long range you obviously wont hit all your shots but the spread makes applying decent poke and zoning off areas fairly easy compared to most brawlers. Run N Gun also makes her reload speed even faster and is better than her other SP.

Any tips on how to dodge brocks attacks? I can dodge most skillshots but Brock's attacks feel practically undodgable for me and with kairos's tier list video i'm seeing him more and more in PL
avoid the AOE explosions by closing in to like mid-range, his slow ass projectiles are difficult to hit like that. if you can predict shots or just generally juke well you'll be fine

Theyre trying to remove the rng from progression, arguably the most israeli aspect of it, which would only benefit f2p players since rewards will be more consistent and not completely waste your time if you have bad luck. This is a huge change that could ruin the game so we'll have to see how they implement it but conceptually this is a good idea.
As a side note, supercell setting the omega challenge to 4 billion takedowns shows that the playerbase is either still pretty sizable or very active since 4 billion is no small number and they wouldnt make it a number that they weren't at least fairly sure the community could get to.

I think it will depend on how quickly you can unlock the brawler you want. I’ve gotten so many chromatic brawlers one after the other in the past two seasons that I can’t even be bothered to level them up/play them. The only brawlers that I am interested in are some of the legendary ones. This update seems good for players who already have most brawlers and only want a few specific ones.
The brawler unlocking thing is irrelevant. Since you can't open boxes anymore, it means that you must buy all star powers and gadgets with gold. Since everything must be done with gold, which you used to get from boxes, the real issue is how they will distribute gold from now on.

Do that 3 times and maybe there wont be mines for 5 seconds until Bo gets his super again. Oh yeah and if you make a mistake you are guaranteed dead. Sounds really fair.

Honestly, I don't think people would be upset if they didn't hype it up as they did.
If they said that the Omega Box is the last box you'll ever open in Brawl Stars and didn't make it out to be this incredibly exclusive box of gems and legendaries, people would have their expectations set.
It's not so much a scam is it is kind of a giant letdown for everyone. Do I think some people hyped it up themselves and got too disappointed? Sure. But Brawl Stars should have made it a little more clear that this box wasn't going to be full of hundreds of gems. People got the Omega Boxes, so it's not like Supercell bailed on everyone. It's just that it feels everyone was lead on to believe this was the box to end all boxes.
It also has the unfortunate drawback of making it seem like this was all an attempt to draw people back into the game with the promise of huge rewards.
I'm not trying to doompost or anything. Brawl Stars has good qualities, to be sure, but the team has a bad habit of not delivering on certain promises and focusing too much on the wrong things (i.e e-sports).

Yes, my friend has been playing for two years and only has 2 legendaries while ive only been playing for 1 and almost have them all. I can only imagine how frustrating the rng has been for people who arent lucky like me.
I think the idea is that you'd have plenty of other brawlers before you start tackling a legendary but if the wait is too long you can always just transfer progress to a cheaper brawler.

Depends on your after pass grind, if as f2p player you get 100 extra pass rewards that will be 2500 extra credits added to 1360 you get completing the free pass, not counting trophy road/ quests/ freebies credits.

Not really, you only get 500 chroma per season (dunno about trophy road) so as f2p you can't really get the new chromatic brawler that season because they cost 1500 chroma so they go to your deposit for not having all the chromatics.

Her turret provides insane map control with tank health if she has the healing SP and it can slow multiple enemies ensuring a kill. She's the best heist brawl hands down and even in mythic she dominates all other modes
Can you frick off already you mouthbreather. Maybe don't all stand in the middle of the map with your teammates and Jessie's bounces won't get insane value everytime she shoots. She has slow reload and a mediocre shot speed that makes it difficult to consistently hit shots at max range even if her projectile is quite large. Literally just pick any thrower, sniper or decent aggro with good damage and hp and she will melt.

Chesters star power 1 is broken. Effective 25% overall dps buff, and the 4 shot burst is an insane amount of damage, its same amount of damage as a Shelly super for comparison. Needs nerf asap the 4 bell attack should do reduced damage per bell. 2nd star power is mediocre, let's you know his next super before it's fully charged, nothing special. Also note about 1st sp, more projectiles = faster super cycling.
Chester is incredibly similar to Otis situation, Otis is a decent brawler on his own but with a broken star power that gives him an effective 33% dps boost, and instead of nerfing the starpower they nerfed his base damage.
the fact that he gets up to 4 projectiles with no decrease in damage per projectile (like Byron's gadget) to me just reinforces the fact that they either deliberately release broken brawlers then nerf them for profit, or that they are absolutely garbage at balancing. how could NO ONE in the team realize how ridiculous this shit is? it's absurd. i actually find it easier to attribute it to greed because the idea that they might be so utterly incompetent as to keep doing this shit "accidentally" makes me sick

While I dont think chester is broken or even super good I do think his star powers are incredibly unbalanced and lazy. The first star power is just a dps buff with no real drawbacks thats gonna be a pain in the ass to balance later like all the others. His second star power sounds completely useless and stupid even if the first one wasnt so blatantly better. It literally took me 5 minutes to think of one more interesting and viable

When they removed boxes they replaced all the trophy road rewards with coins, credits, and power points instead of boxes. When the update dropped players were able to collect the new trophy road rewards essentially getting the same rewards twice when they weren't supposed to. After a week supercell compensated everyone with the same rewards that those who played during the bug got. The problem is that those who exploited the bug weren't supposed to get the compensation but did and thats where we're at currently. Crossing my fingers for another free gift but I think theyll just try to forget about it
