Series S was an aggressively stupid idea with power-hungry, low-skill developers making up the brunt of those interested in Xbox, and for a long time the console was mostly known for being a decently powerful emulation console through the developer mode. Game Pass is a horrible deal for Microsoft itself and eats tremendously into actual game sales, and the console doesn't have very many exclusive games as it is. Brand loyalty for Xbox is basically nonexistent as of the Xbone and the "we have an offline console, it's called the 360." In the next 10 to 15, I would not be surprised to see Microsoft close its doors on its gaming division.

Here's what I don't get: the MS Actiblizz acquisition objectively decreases competition since Actiblizz was previously independent. A game platform becoming the publisher of the games on their platform is a form of market and industry concentration. Back in the day Hollywood studios were forced to sell their ownership of cinemas because they would only screen their own productions, which hurt independent filmmakers and thus resulted in a less competitive environment. So why is Ganker celebrating MS becoming even more of a megacorp? Simply wanting to see Sony lose CoD doesn't explain it, since both Sony and MS are equally evil and bad for the industry.

Sony increased their budget in angle player games and Sony has always rarely given info on their games, I don't know why gays are pretending it's a bad thing now

When was the last time Wolverine was shown? My point is, devs cycles have increased a lot. Santa Monicas next studio will be years away and this goes for a lot of studios. Naught Dog wasted years on a big factions game and only now abandoned it, freeing up manpower, meaning their next game will be years away too.
And this dev cycle problem isnt only affecting Sony of course, I was bringing it up in regards to people constantly saying that games like Fable or Avowed were in dev hell.

The 32x and Sega CD were flops. The Saturn was pure Sega incompetence. By the time they launched the Dreamcast Sega would have needed to outsell the PS2 2:1 in order to stay in the console race. They have nobody to blame but themselves.
They also made it very easy to pirate on Dreamcast, which won't do you want favors when you're trying to recover from successive frick ups
Piracy has even less to do with Sega exiting the console market than Sony does. Dreamcast sold decently during its 2 years of support and had a high attach rate so Dreamcast games were selling. Sega was just cooked before the dreamcast had a chance.
