DD2 is the most visually impressive of the three but it is still not really that good for current gen

They all looks really bad and graphically dated, but if I had to pick one it'd be ER for the simple fact that the biomes are diverse and it isn't the same trees and auto-gened grass pasted thousands of times.

all 3 have different biomes. in fact, ER has the least variety out of the three.

And yet they still all look the same with copy paste assets everywhere.
ER shouldn’t even be in the picture honestly. There’s a reason why it was totally forgotten after release

It was forgotten because of low enemy variety, obnoxious input reading and moronly agressive bosses, not because of the world or look of the game

DD2 pushes more polygons but I prefer ER's artstyle. BotW is just butt ugly beyond its sunsets. GI took it and made it what it was supposed to look like if it had actual color and wasn't smeared in vaseline.

Elden Ring obviously? BOTW tries to do too much with the shit hardware so it just looks like shit. DD2 has exactly two biomes and basically no recognizable landmarks. ER is like walking into a painting.

DD2 has a more grounded style that is less incoherent and more refined but a ER has undoubtedly a more interesting world design. The unmoored world is really cool but maybe it should have been like totk where you can go into a shadow dimension or something, it's a bit moronic to make it a time limited post game experience. DD2 also came out 2 years later so it has better graphics, the ray tracing is phenomenal and you can enter every house. Overall i think ER has a better game world but at the end of the day it's really apple and oranges.

More refined? DD2 world feels randomly generated.

Both ER and DD2 and for different reasons. Having played Genshin, Zelda often turns out to be pretty ugly

  22. 2 weeks ago

Dragons dogma is the most generic looking game I've seen in a long time, it is a hallway simulator calling itself open world, and it's 360 level graphics require a 4090 to run well (maybe). I have no idea how Capcom dropped the ball so hard when zelda looks and runs great on a toaster.

  23. 2 weeks ago
    Anonymous

Probably Dragon's Dogma 2 as a matter of consistency, Elden Ring sometimes has phenomenal art direction but they are peaks alternating with more subdued glimpses. Breath of the Wild is only decent if it's emulated but it hasn't aged well and is often too dull

You can tell this is an Elden Ring fanboy thread by the pics they chose for Zelda and DD.
    >screenshot from a relatively humid area in TotK during the morning where Link’s standing on a cliff with a massive open area ahead of him which would increase the hazy look of the scene
    >closed-in shot of DD showing just a forest with nothing extraordinary happening

the main areas in Elden Ring are just ugly. That grass in OP looks like a balding mans wet hair. The underground, castles, etc. are fantastic though.

DD2 is washed out and no variance. ER beats it for sure.

I'm betting BOTW on PC blows these 2 away.
