oh yeah? well I love booba
The Oceanic setting was pretty comfy
I like the characters and environments but the sphere grid system objectively sucks and the story is kinda lame.
Auron MVP.
Kimarhi makes a way better buster than auron does and Kimarhi does it faster while retaining the ability to steal monster abilities such as hyper guard and then just jump straight to aurons grid after maxing out his small portion of it making him a far better support character than auron could ever hope to be with all 5 of his str+ nodes
There are only two possible methods for applying armor break to targets which are normally immune to the status - one of Rikku's mixes (an overdrive usually better spent on other, more unique, more powerful effects) or Auron's banishing blade overdrive. Additionally, Auron's celestial weapon is the only one to have the first strike ability, making him a necessity in certain situations. Kimahri's only use is stealing a few level 3 key spheres earlier than you can usually obtain them.
Auron is more important for butt fricking Tidus
This is like a b cup, pathetic
That's massive in nipland.
>always think about replaying
>remember all the tedious and rage inducing side quests
10 is in my top 5, potentially #4 but i just have zero urge to ever play it again. and yes i know having a damage breaking GOAT weapon is largely pointless but my brain will not let me not get it.
which game is your favorite?
8
I fricking kneel
Uematsu was at his peak with 8. Such a good soundtrack.
Absolutely. 7 and 8 are masterpiece OSTs, and over time, I've come to elevate 8 to nearly as good as 7.
Here's my FFX story. Wondering if any other anon has this experience.
>buy this as a 17 year old lad, brand new copy from Gamestop
>take home, play religiously
>no guide, do all exploration, all side quests, get all weapons
>make it through entire story
>nearly max out sphere grid, OP AF characters
>finish game, barely break a sweat
>bask in amazing story, think it may be top 3 games I've ever played
>put it down finally
>haven't played since and barely remember anything about it
>no desire to replay
Who the frick replays a long ass rpg game? I can't imagine doing a new game plus either especially if a game is over 50 to 100 hours long.
I've replayed 4-8 at least 8-10 times each, some more. I've replayed Breath of Fire 1-3 over 10 times each, probably, same with several other series.
as a kid i would cast haste on lulu and give her the final kill only to watch her breasts sway
man, to be that innocent again
I like the soundtrack.
If I play this game, do I have to do the annoying thing where I have to use all the characters in battle to level them evenly? Or, even if I avoid doing this and just play naturally, will it be mostly fine?
there is like a really short section where you play as certain characters but you should be fine even if you didnt level them at all, just play with whoever you think is cool and ignore the rest, the game doesnt frick you up later like 6 does
yes and no, swapping characters doesnt cost you a turn if i remember right so u can just pop all yours guys in, but khimari or whatever has a solo part so use him before you get to the mountain after that you can kinda do whatever
yes, and no
yes in that there are certain sections of the game that get extremely hard if you don't level them, but those sections are balanced by the bosses being the same 'level' as you (there are no traditional levels in the game, but a certain boss fight at the peak of a mountain is scaled by that certain person's average stats (i think))
other than the what, two places this happens, you can use who you want and have fun
i dont think the mountain is scaled unless they changed it from the original, I could be wrong I just remember doing trash damage
nothing is scaled but there are enemies that have set stats and health that aren't easily met without some grind/time investment. primarily yunalesca and final seymour.
nah i was just trying to remember my playthrough from twenty two (22) years ago
never leveled him and was able to beat it, somehow, so i assumed that it was easy -because- he was such a low level
i didn't have any issues as a kid on any seymour fight but yunalesca def walled me and required some grind.
I think there's a section here or there where you may be locked with a certain character or party but the area is generally pretty easy and/or will help you get there.
Swapping is pretty seamless and quick though and early in the game party members are more adept to deal with certain foes so you're kind of inclined to swap but the game is so easy you can basically brute force your way through that.
true i forgot about the enemy types, good point, that does incentivize switching atleast early on and thats when it matters since you can always grind endgame if you wanna do the other content.
> Or, even if I avoid doing this and just play naturally, will it be mostly fine
Thing is if you play X “naturally” you will find yourself levelling up everyone rather equally.
Characters in X are specialised against certain monsters (Tidus against fast monsters, Wakka against flying monster, etc…), so the game encourages tou to always switch you party around even mid-encounter
There's a way you can cheese it (if you really want to) where if you make a character do ANY action whether its using an item, defending, attacking etc. they get full exp credit for the fight. I mean it's good to do it occasionally, especially for the blue homie which I won't spoil why.
The only thing I'd say to think about is theres a guy that can go two paths:
>One that has "SCAN" in the sphere, and a path to the left where he can get someone else's abilities early and it makes him way better. His usefulness borderline hinges on how much you level him and which path you take. I'm trying not to pre-emptively backseat but I just did my 3rd playthrough and my 2nd and 3rd were way more enjoyable than when I was a moronic 13 year old playing it.
Also don't expect to win (at least without a guide) the story required blitzball game as it's skew for you to have a 90% chance to lose on purpose
>HAHAHAHAHA
What is Khimari looking at?
The vibes
IIRC that direction down to the left is the town where you climbed the stairs to get there from.
mans gotta be ready with the encounter system in this game
I gotta replay it I dont remember her saying that
also if you wanna cheese that part cause youre right the stats are against you in that first match you can just get 1 goal and after you get the ball back run your character behind your own goal and run the clock out.
Yeah there's that cheese, and its also like
>Hey if you dont put this guy AND Tidus on the far side of the field, enjoy not scoring a goal ever
You can straight up lose at the position screen.
yeah u gotta really use tidus and his ablity as a crutch in that match especially cause the entire enemy teams gonna be venom tackling you all game or whatever, for me you just gotta be really careful where and when you get into "combat" and I think anon could maybe do it first try. Good call to let him know that fights stacked though it turned a lot of people off playing blitz for the rest of the game.
and yeah whatever thats J guys name is who has ok ap the rest of ur team is basically useless until later
I swear there's some motherfricker with like a 13 or 18 catch stat too. There's something that gatekeeps you so that without Tidus or that ONE other shooter guy you're basically fricked.
The Al Bhed goalkeeper.
If you don't have Jetch Shot you are fricked.
yeah the enemy teams stats are all like 10 plus and ur guys have like 4s and 5s its really ass, i kinda liked it though because it does make sense that the worst team has trash players and I think you play the rivals, goers or something? And tidus is an allstar so it fits that hes the only useable player
It was satisfying to finally run it back after getting GTFO as a kid years ago. I beat it and got over my "fear" of blitzball and won 90% of matches getting wakka's ult weapon legit for the first time. It's a hard feeling to describe but FFX feels complete for me now.
<3 Love that. I'm proud of you champ. I felt the same way as a kid I just probably had more free time to throw at it, I figured out the behind the goal thing pretty early too so I'm sure I used that more than I want to remember.
Thanks, maybe I'll finally get it someday. I'll make sure to post it if I do. Anyone else gets the urge just be safe with your neck.
Well I think Tidus was a little generous but I guess we'll find out.
I can't think of a good reply before the thread dies and I fall asleep so here's this as a bootleg reaction image.
tfw lulu cucked from being black mage by the only other mage whos already better at everything and whose only struggle is nullified by her literal dream husbando
Why is she carrying a watermelon?
why aren't you
To throw at Black folk
Ballast
BBCs love watermelon she's baiting them to her
SOVL
I see 3 watermelons
she's meant to be dusting off her belt dress not waving her hand around like a tard. stupid animator.
censored in the actual remake
the seymour fight on the mountains was way harder than the one after it, he kept instakilling my party with his missile attack until I realised you could poison him
how often do you use yuna as a healer?
thankfully you can do so because the game is only as hard as you want it to be but lulu as healer is so much better, especially since she lacks summon and for sphere grid reasons
to answer your question only during my first playthrough
Game throws mega potions and mega phoenixs at you too often to even bother with a healer.
>using items
cheater
not only that, rikku's mix was absolutely busted
>grind lulu until she has -ara
nope, not going to make the obvious joke eventhoughijustdid, nope
Tbh al-bhed potions were my healer in my latest playthrough.
She says it after his second lmao-session and then I think she decides to join him.
oh okay, i remembered her laughing along so thank you for explaining.
I always wanted to learn the jecht shot irl, think its possible boys?
yes it's possible anon keep trying I have faith in you
>not fayth
I love her spells
lulu's lulus
It was a based desicion to do this.
Being prime coomerfuel was always a hallmark of this iconic series.
prime coomerfuel was always a hallmark of this iconic series.
post your favorite ost from ff10
Is there even a question about this?
>reddit music
Kinda feel like replaying ff10 after listening to this
Via Purifico is short but peak.
i never finished this game. i wasnt able to beat this guy.
You just grind Lulu until she has -ara spells and then she solos the game from that point on
Honestly that's pretty fricking far down her grid isn't it? I think with the party swap + 1 action strat you could pretty much have tidus and auron strong enough to auto attack him into death range and overdrive him for an overkill.
It's not as bad as FF8 GF spamming but in his defense for getting certain items guaranteed switching to an aeon and dealing the last 9999 pretty much guarantees overkills without risking killing them regularly.
>Honestly that's pretty fricking far down her grid isn't it
I don't think so? I remember getting it right before that boss and I didn't grind that much. I think.
Oh shit you're right I'm fried. I might be thinking of aga spells now that I think about it. At mushroom rock (can't remember if thats directly before or directly after) I was RIGHT in front of the ara spells. I remember the sinspawn being pretty free anyways though so maybe it was the exp distribution method I used.
I made a separate save at pretty much every savepoint but my memory sucks so I don't exactly remember the order of things 100%.
Yeah jesus frick that guy. I think the problem on the (Goers?) is that you need to venom the goalie first or use sphere / jecht shot.
>I always wanted to learn the jecht shot irl, think its possible boys?
>Nobody else can do it.
Source: Jecht
>ANYONE can do it.
Source: Tidus
Here's how you beat every main game boss
>do ranom encounters before the boss
>make yuna switch in all her aeons
>charge all their overdrives
>go to boss
>switch in aeon and immediately do the overdrive
>repeat until boss is dead
>using a summoner
never ever
>i wasnt able to beat this guy.
Are you fricking moronic?
Made for BTC (BIG TIDUS wiener)
>big
AAAAHAHAHAHAH
You think he steals Jecht's moves in the bedroom?
Same. Remaster sucks though.
10 is beautiful
Besaid was beautiful.
Having you explore the whole island and even swim before encountering the 1st village was a stroke of brilliance.
Sexo.
FFX-2 is not canon.
this thread makes me want to play FFX again
but i do remember that part in a desert where you have to translate markers to know where youre going, but at that point in the game you only know about a third of the albehd alphabet, so youre constantly trying to bridge the gap between what you see and what's really being said
hated that part
>but i do remember that part in a desert where you have to translate markers to know where youre going
I think this is optional but there is some cactuar part, I'd honestly just use youtube for it. I think al bhed is kinda just optional for the most part and doesn't really pay off that much until you 100% it. I think you get some really good modification items or something.
I always had more trouble with the Butterfly Hunt than the Chocobo Race
the lightning strikes were the worst for me, because i'd lose count or zone out and miss the flash
a butterfly with rainbow wings
will piss you off for stupid things
Early 2000s was such a magical era for 3D gaming and the aesthetic style being used in Jap games. FFX nailed it, and so did PSO ep2.
>flashes his panties in your path
I played through this game, I expected Tidus to be the worst mc ever with how much FFgays hate him, but he’s like one of the best. Am I missing something about him that made people detest him so much. Only thing that annoyed me regarding him was the ntr daddy dream
the final fantasy community is fricking moronic, I love these games but I hate most other ff fans
I think the VAs were what tarnished Tidus reputation in the west. Because anyone who thinks he’s whinier or sissier than the previous main characters are deluding themselves
Tidus VA is a pretty good voice actor. He mentioned it was the voice director. They usually go in blind so they have no context in the scene. It's up to the voice director to guide them. At comic con, he was explaining what was going on with that laughing scene. He also brought along his script of the game which was pretty cool. Just endless dialogue with no context.
>played FF6 and FF7 when I was a kid
>never played any more for some reason even though I loved 6 and 7
>finally get back into the series with Stranger of Paradise of all things
>replay FF7 and love it again
>mfw all these games that I suddenly want to play that I've never played before
Help me decide which one to play next, bros. I'm thinking 8, 9, 10 or 15.
The android version of 9 is pretty good. I like the controls of it and it's pretty much the ps1 version without long load times. You can also use a bluetooth controller and it syncs up fine.
play 10 and then 8, both of them are amazing. I haven't played 9 yet but it's probably the next one im gonna play
>being a teen - Yuna
>being in early 20s - Rikku
>being in your 30s - Lulu
Who is 40s? (asking for a friend)
All three to be honest, family.
I think FFX had some amazing hidden detail shit
>If you revisit the Farplane before heading to the Thunder Plains you see the parents of the kid that died in Miihen operation mourning him
>Summoning Anima against Seymour, he comments on even her turning against him
>Talking to Rin after collecting every Al Bhed Primer gives you a cool hidden dialogue after which you are rewarded with 99 Underdog’s secret
Is the endgame content worth doing at all?
Needs a Remake holy shit I want this Remade more than any other ff I think
