Imagine a mode called like Survival or something and in this mode you can't buy healing items or ammo from the store. you are also stuck with only the level 1 suit the entire game and to save you need an item you can find in the world similar to ink ribbons in RE so you can only save when you have one in your inventory.
Make the game a lot harder and more like classic survival horror it be fricking cool
I mostly Agree with everything you said if im being honest, I like DSRemake, but most of that is because I like Dead Space already so of course copying that homework is going to be better. I am still happy its something that exists, but they could have have done so much more
But I also want to say I do like what little they did add (mostly), I really like the Sidequests they added, and most of the Weapon updates (Flamethrower my beloved), and you cant go wrong injecting Ds2 combat into anything.

God I want to see the scrapped Necromorphs like the flyers appear in a mainline Dead Space game. It sucks there's so many cool enemies left on the cutting room floor.
i think the best thing about the remake was the ai director. definitely kept things tense during all my playthroughs. Hopefully they improve it and add more events for ds2 remake
I hated it. Visually everything looks like it was dipped in mud, almost all the characters are flat out worse, and the necromorphs are visually samey because of the dumb peeling system requiring a single standardized skeleton. It suffers from inferior sound design and clunky animations, and the things it actually does well (some expanded lore stuff and scenes with Isaac, the twist with Elizabeth Cross, and the "choosing whether to have light or oxygen" mechanic for some areas does not make up for its faults. I played the original right before going into the remake and it was like night and day, I truly regret giving EA a chance after they took Visceral out back and shot them into a ditch.

Eh, 2 is incredibly overrated. It is overall still good but relies so much more on scripted action set pieces that it ruins any chance to actually build a tense atmosphere like the first did.

Dead Space 2 is a 10/10 from start to finish and probably my favorite singleplayer campaign. I did enjoy the remake a lot but I don't know what they could add. Only thing I could really think of is adding in proper bossfights like the first game. Don't even need new sequences, just expand the Tormenter, tripods in the church and fuel depot and mind Nichole into full bosses.

On the topic of Dead Space Remake, Does anyone else have a hard time running it? My PC is a beast and can run most things effortlessly, and Dead Space R runs fine on it as well, but it has these little things that happen. Sometimes the audio desyncs, or blood doesnt appear when I shoot something, and something just feels ever so slightly off while playing, then there are more blatant shit stains like this one Mercer scene where his mouth didnt match up with his words, and the one where he kills Temple but neither him, or temple, or even the hunter spawned so it was Issac Talking to him self.
My Game runs fine all of the time, but theres just these little things that happen.
Unpopular opinion: dead space 3 was good, the action feel was fine cause necromorphs werent scary anymore anyway, the co op guy wast bad, and the devs made the resource drones so effective it had to be on purpose to sabotage the micro transactions that EA forced them to put in

I know everyone loves the security suit, but let's take a minute to appreciate just how cool the advanced suit is. It's arguably surpassed the lvl 3 engineeding to become the most iconic suit in the franchise. When there's fanart it's always one of those 2.
That's visual storytelling. He's bulky design and gameplaywise in DS. Isacc is faster, deadlier, and more responsive in DS2 and the sleeker, more streamlined suit design is meant to communicate that to the player.
Best box art for any game. Literally got me into the franchise. This was on a poster in the window of the Blockbuster by my house, and it was so fricking cool I would just stare at it for a minute every time I walked by even though I'd never heard of the series. Ended up buying what would be my favorite game just because of how cool that poster was.
So simple yet so effective. just what a good box art should be.

Ishimura was way more atmospheric. Dead Space 2's are was good but I never once got the same feeling of dread than being trapped on a derelict ship with no pods and almost no help. The Sprawl still had Tidemann and his troops, plus Ellie and Strauss and was an entire city.
I was so angry at this game. So many great ideas, so much production value, so many talented devs and it's like covid/overreach/over ambition fricked it up halfway in. It seriously went very fricking wrong at some point and we got a hacked together mess. There is just so much wasted potential in there.
I have a theory that the vent crawling isnt to hide level loads or the usual, it was just the only way they found to cohesively get you to point A to B because they made cool scenery and forgot to lay it out as a real place first. I fricking loved Signalis and saved the year for me alongside FAITH, but I refuse to touch DSR on principle alone that I am fricking sick of remakes for games that DO NOT need them. Visually everything looks like it was dipped in mud, almost all the characters are flat out worse, and the necromorphs are visually samey because of the dumb peeling system requiring a single standardized skeleton. It suffers from inferior sound design and clunky animations, and the things it actually does well (some expanded lore stuff and scenes with Isaac, the twist with Elizabeth Cross, and the "choosing whether to have light or oxygen" mechanic for some areas does not make up for its faults. I played the original right before going into the remake and it was like night and day, I truly regret giving EA a chance after they took Visceral out back and shot them into a ditch.

Eh, 2 is incredibly overrated. It is overall still good but relies so much more on scripted action set pieces that it ruins any chance to actually build a tense atmosphere like the first did.

Dead Space 2 is a 10/10 from start to finish and probably my favorite singleplayer campaign. I did enjoy the remake a lot but I don't know what they could add. Only thing I could really think of is adding in proper bossfights like the first game. Don't even need new sequences, just expand the Tormenter, tripods in the church and fuel depot and mind Nichole into full bosses.

I can't think of another game with slow motion like Dead Space. most games with slow motion just make the player slow the world down to a crawl like in F.E.A.R but in Dead Space you need to hit the enemies with stasis to slow them to a crawl and you got to pick the right enemies to hit since your range is limited depending on what your hitting.

On the topic of Dead Space Remake, Does anyone else have a hard time running it? My PC is a beast and can run most things effortlessly, and Dead Space R runs fine on it as well, but it has these little things that happen. Sometimes the audio desyncs, or blood doesnt appear when I shoot something, and something just feels ever so slightly off while playing, then there are more blatant shit stains like this one Mercer scene where his mouth didnt match up with his words, and the one where he kills Temple but neither him, or temple, or even the hunter spawned so it was Issac Talking to him self.
My Game runs fine all of the time, but theres just these little things that happen.
Unpopular opinion: dead space 3 was good, the action feel was fine cause necromorphs werent scary anymore anyway, the co op guy wast bad, and the devs made the resource drones so effective it had to be on purpose to sabotage the micro transactions that EA forced them to put in

DS3 is a solid 7/10 unfortunately in a series of 9-10/10 games.

Horizontal is the only correct way to go. you can blast off a Black folk legs than take out his arms using Horizontal fire. if your playing Dead Space you need to aim for the legs first it's the best way to slow these speedy frickers down and get some breathing room. plus it works well on basically every Necromorph type from the leapers to the Lurkers.
Horizontal always. But I always switch it to vertical when out of combat because I think it looks way cooler that way.

Tbh Isaac shoulders looks too skinny in the Advance suit. It might be because of the engineering suit plating but I thought he was kinda bulky
That's visual storytelling. He's bulky design and gameplaywise in DS. Isacc is faster, deadlier, and more responsive in DS2 and the sleeker, more streamlined suit design is meant to communicate that to the player.
Best box art for any game. Literally got me into the franchise. This was on a poster in the window of the Blockbuster by my house, and it was so fricking cool I would just stare at it for a minute every time I walked by even though I'd never heard of the series. Ended up buying what would be my favorite game just because of how cool that poster was.

The plot and narrative of Signalis was the most pretentious homosexual shit I've ever seen from video games. Randomly flashing german and chink words that go like

Ishimura even though I enjoyed DS1 more as a horror game (DS2 had the same "problem" RE2 had in a shift to action-horror). That said, going back to the Ishimura in DS2 was one of my top 3 highlights of the franchise easily

Ishimura was way more atmospheric. Dead Space 2's are was good but I never once got the same feeling of dread than being trapped on a derelict ship with no pods and almost no help. The Sprawl still had Tidemann and his troops, plus Ellie and Strauss and was an entire city.

I was so angry at this game. So many great ideas, so much production value, so many talented devs and it's like covid/overreach/over ambition fricked it up halfway in. It seriously went very fricking wrong at some point and we got a hacked together mess. There is just so much wasted potential in there.
I have a theory that the vent crawling isnt to hide level loads or the usual, it was just the only way they found to cohesively get you to point A to B because they made cool scenery and forgot to lay it out as a real place first. The game was just fundamentally badly executed, even if it was brimming with cool shit that would make a great game. Maybe a sequel will work, but TCP was a huge letdown.
I fricking loved Signalis and saved the year for me alongside FAITH, but I refuse to touch DSR on principle alone that I am fricking sick of remakes for games that DO NOT need them. Give me a new entry and then I'll take a look. Besides, EA left me with such a sour taste in my mouth that I would have pirated it anyway or waited for 90%. I'm glad people liked it (even if it looks inferior in a lot of ways to the original in previews I saw) because I do not like people playing bad games, but honestly it's difficult for me to justify paying so much money on a game I already play and love.

This is by far the correct opinion. DS2 is the shittiest of the Dead Space games. People don't understand that DS3 is just a better DS2, and both games are a big split from the first. Same with Mass Effect
