To everyone worried about the game being completely different from 3, consider the following:
>The official game article on the Dragon Ball website only acknowledges Budokai Tenkaichi 1-3, not Ultimate Tenkaichi or Raging Blast.
>They also acknowledge that the series is know for it's MASSIVE roster of characters.
>They intentionally showed Budokai Tenkaichi 3 footage in the reveal trailer to hype up the newest entry.
Also, I've heard some people say that the Goku model in the trailer doesn't seem to resemble the model that Spike created for BT 1-3, but if you take a closer look at Goku's base form hair in the reveal trailer, it clearly takes direct inspiration from the Goku hair models that were present in all Dragon Ball games developed by Spike.
>What does this mean?
It means that all the in-game models for BT4 will more than likely heavily resemble their original Budokai Tenkaichi counterparts, which were always the best in my opinion.

I think if there are AI battles my friends and I are going to get piss drunk and have a good time watching AI SSJ4 Gogeta fight AI SSJB Vegerot beat the shit out of Chichi
>AI battles
Oh hell yes. Even better in world tournament mode.
>They also acknowledge that the series is know for it's MASSIVE roster of characters.
The question is, are they going to retain the last game's roster or do a bunch of cuts and then have 120-ish characters and try to push it as being just as good as the last game?
He's in.
>They're calling it Sparking ZERO in development
The sign of a huge roster being the previous games selling point is good. But the fact that they're not calling it 4 and instead going back to the starting board is also pretty concerning.
Can somebody explain why people want Tenkaichi 4 over Xenoverse 3?
Both games don't have actual in depth combat mechanics/systems, and Xenoverse 2 has both the same raw # of characters as Tenkaichi 3 did while also having create a character.
Is it just people being nostalgiac for the Tenkaichi branding or is there an actual thing Xenoverse does worse then Tenkaichi?
This. Making a character is where the dbz franchise needs to go. We've played through the sagas too many times. Let us create our own stories somehow. Recently I played a minecraft mod Dragon Block C and it gave me a more authentic DBZ feeling than any fighter.
>Recently I played a minecraft mod Dragon Block C and it gave me a more authentic DBZ feeling than any fighter.
fucking playing Kenshi as a solo martial artist feels more like dragon ball than any dragon ball fighting game
no beam struggles
>Both games don't have actual in depth combat mechanics/systems
Wrong. there's a lot going on in Tenkaichi 3 mechanically. The transformations play a point in how they work and function. Power Stressed Trunks depowering after you get your extra life bar whittled down gives him an edge and there's the method of artificial humans not being able to be locked on, bigger characters not being able to flinch and everything involving Devilman and his beam attack.
Fuck off with that self-insert shit, it barely works in Dragon Ball Heroes.
kys. The Dragon ball universe is perfect to self insert you fucking retard.
The fuck it is. That OC shit is cancer and Japan has a hard-on for that shit. People care about Goku and Goku alone as is, why make a knockoff of him when you can just use the genuine article? Half of you self-insert gays only care about the CaC system because you want to fuck Bulma/Chi-Chi/etc or have a virtual harem.
Fuck off, Dragon Ball has some merits in spite of its shallowness.
>The Dragon ball universe is perfect to self insert you fucking retard.
Lmao, which one are you?
The mary sue human who's for some reason as powerful as everyone else in the series and can use everyone's abilities?
The mary sue Saiyan who came from nowhere and can go Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan?
The retarded Majin Buu character that makes no sense?
Frieza's long lost brother's uncle's sister's son's cousin?
>character creation in db
It has no place. T3 had customization right; skills. Leave customization to MMOs, which DB had one.

None of that actually matters at a core gameplay level, it's slight window dressing, and are all things Xenoverse could implement if it wanted to, rather then an actual fundamental difference for how Xenoverse and Tenkaichi plays
Unless Xenoverse straight up doesn't have specials change per transformation?
>Xenoverse's gameplay sucks absolute ass, even as simple as it was Tenkaichi was much more fun. I replayed Tenkaichi 3 recently and had more fun with it than I ever did in Xenoverse 2.
What's different about it?
This could also easily be implimented
>None of that actually matters at a core gameplay level
>Unique characteristics that make even glorified hair swaps stand out aren't important
Also
>and are all things Xenoverse could implement if it wanted to
So why hasn't it done so? You're admitting a game from 2007 is mechanically deeper than a game from 2016 which should have all of Tenkaichi's touches and then some.
>Unless Xenoverse straight up doesn't have specials change per transformation?
Xenoverse barely even has transformations, they don't matter, absolutely nothing changes
>Both games don't have actual in depth combat mechanics/systems

>while also having create a character.
Because I don't want this.
I don't want to be forced to self-insert either as myself or a shitty OC.
I'd rather have the story retold for the billionth time than have it half-way retold with my OC standing on the side.
>Can somebody explain why people want Tenkaichi 4 over Xenoverse 3?
They're under the impression they can keep the momentum from the golden age of dbz games but they don't realize an entire decade has passed and the industry changed for the worse.
Xenoverse is already spent after the 2nd. I also hate the glossy art style. I don’t like the hub world after the first either. CaC is meme shit, the new naruto game did that shit too and it’s frankly boring.
FUCK YOUR LIVE SERVICE MMO GARBAGE
I like the huge roster, the way Tenkaichi handles transformations, and I like it doesn't attempt to actually balance everyone and just lets there be huge power gaps between characters.
CaC shit stupid. Dragon Ball is full of hundreds of memorable characters. You don't need to make your own lorebreaking head canon shit.
>>What does this mean?
It means they're using a name to sell you on nostalgia while they release another sub-par DBZ game filled with DLC and season passes.
>this OP
This seems like a reddit shill post lmao
Of course it is, the 'hype' here seems artificial as fuck and as soon as people started questioning why people were excited for a logo with no gameplay and started raising legitimate concerns these 'FAQs' started being posted everywhere.
Well, hype is a shallow concept/behaviour.
Where are my shizam posters? This game is going to be straight up Xeno 3
The only thing that worries me is whether or not they'll make the GT characters stronger than the Super characters, as they canonically are
they're ALL IN
I really need to watch the DBZ movies again. Literally all I remember about Bojack Unbound was feeling like they rehashed the Father-Son Kamehameha and I'm not even sure if that's correct.
Worst part about this is they have the assets from Heroes but they won't use them and instead make all-new assets, guaranteeing a smaller roster.
>To everyone worried about the game being completely different from 3, consider the following:
The game is made by the JUMP Force devs.
Who are the BT devs, yes, but they made the big flop that was JUMP Force.
It's clear the people working on bt games left the company. Or complete interns.
