These are the sorts of games I like from Nintendo so I'm happy. I don't like their big games, I like their smaller more experimental games
It's the sort of game you used to see with Sega on the Dreamcast. Games that tested what could be considered video games, pushed the medium to its limits for better or worse.
Yeah I'm a huge fan of the experimental unique games of Sega, Sony and to a lesser extent Nintendo hardware. It's part of the reason why Ive preferred the latter years of the Switch so far since they're releasing deeper cuts like Famicom Detective Club, Endless Ocean, Another Code, Mario RPG Remake, Motion control Warioware etc... the early years of the Switch didn't do much for me outside of Mario Odyssey and Smash Ultimate

Did you play Everblue and Everblue 2 on ps2? That was Endless ocean before it was Endless ocean. They were diving RPGs closer to the Blue World gameplay. First one was realeased in Europe, but not the USA.

Yeah, even a brainlet like myself was able to predict Endless Ocean. I expected a port of the first two instead of a new game, though.
I was expecting Endless Ocean by virtue of there being no way in hell Nintendo would make GCN for NSO when they've been happy to resell those game to you.
That said, I'm happy with it. EO is a comfy game

The second game is where it’s at. There’s lots of exploration, dolphin training photography, salvaging treasure, tons of animals to find. There’s just a lot to do.

I just learned this was an actual series, I don't really understand what's the point of the game though
sound design is unreal, relaxing surrounded by marine life is one big part of it, but the atmosphere the sound design brings is pretty unique to EO. i had a near transcendent experience in a ravine in the first game.
exploring the ocean and chilling with marine life, thats the draw
just try it, easy enough with dolphin and thats how i played them
