I have played tekken since tekken 3 on PS1 when I was 12. I have played every tekken entry since. 8 is objectively the best Tekken to date.
Tecmo did it too with DOA. The girls were always obvious but the men also shared body models with only Bass and Gen-Fu being the outliers. This is a general 3d fighting game issue to save time not just Bamco.
Tekken 8 is a predictable follow-up to a series that's never aimed particularly high, it may please casual gamers for a day or two but the stagnant ongoing series is definitely in the second tier of fighters way below Capcom or NRS games, and it's seriously getting old and tired. The lack of depth and subtlety and the emphasis on the offensive, rather than the defensive, puts this squarely two notches below the best in the genre, the shallow gameplay leaves much to be desired from a serious fighting game player. Like the prequels, Tekken 8 is geared towards casual gamers and anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and King of Fighters games have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" heat moves are just laughably broken. Instead of supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T8 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their Heat move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, Heat system also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

I tried the demo and tried to do the same I did with T7: I went to a CPU match and tried to do a kbd on a pad. Wait the replay function tells you all the punish opportunities you had and gives you a combo for them? You don't have to look up each character's frame data on everything? Are they optimal combos or babby combos? Still would be fricking awesome.
My download has one more hour but if it shows you every time you had a punish and gives you the combo (which I assume is unoptimal which is for the best so nerds still get rewarded for doing homework, maybe at least the starter will be the strongest one or the same speed or slower as the strongest one) then it will be a complete game changer, especially for games with huge casts like Tekken. How can you stop one who was trained by a perfect machine?

Just learn a couple of combos, go online and use them. Find out what moves you are getting punished by, then go into practice and make the CPU spam that move until it is no longer an issue. Rinse and repeat. You are now a tekken master.

I hate this about modern fighting games, one-button supers that are a cutscene, autocombos, now this simplified controls shit. You start as a beginner trying to learn the game properly and have to fight a bunch of morons that can just mash one button to do high damage chains. They won't grow or get good at the the game, but they sure as shit do a great job of slowing your progress.
People that rely on the supers, autocombos, and simplified control shit all get destroyed by people that know what they're doing. But you're right. Rage Arts completely broke the flow of combat. It's annoying and it's not why I liked the series and got into it. Every other shitty fighter already had supers and ultimates and specials. I had more fun getting shit on by no life high ranks in Tekken 6 than I did dealing with the 12 IQ rage art spamming mongs on Tekken 7 that didn't rematch the second they realized you could block their rage art.
Spent the whole evening playing it. Tekken always had stupid stuff in it, but they went all anime in 6 and kept doubling down. The character designs are so overdone it hurts the eyes. Why does Jin have some random belts hanging around his legs etc? The story is some cape-shit trash, with the moron level tropes like "fight with your hears" and "defeat your inner weakness to free yourself from chains". Then there's the fights. You wreck a dude and he's beaten but then goes "nah-uh, I'm going to be stronger now". This happens multiple times and is boring. Remember when FGs had you pick your character, see a backstory, then fight all the dudes till the final boss and see your characters ending?
As for the game itself, it feels more anime too. Too much visual crap and it's sometimes hard to tell what is going on. Stages are even more shit than Tekken 7. In case you weren't a fan of rage arts, they are back, though do less damage, but you now have a KOF-style max mode with even more cutscene combos.
Roster is meh, cool characters like Lidia didn't make it, but they though it's somehow a good idea to add another bear.

You could probably achieve it in about a year depending on how old you are. Maybe less. If you're young under 30 years old, less than a year. If you're over 30 years old, maybe about a year or a little more. You don't need to take steroids these days. You can HRT and hormone therapy to upgrade your testosterone and naturally build more muscle. It makes you a genetic freak.
It would literally take less than a year if you aren't already fat and don't have shit genetics. Although perfectly symmetrical abs are harder to obtain.
Is it possible with the lumen mods that they'll be able to move the light placement so that it looks more natural and not overly dark? Or it's just not possible? I like lumen since it brings back the original look of the teaser trailer but you can tell the game wasn't designed with lumen in mind since none of the lights are placed in a way that makes the scene look good when it's lit.

Wasn't Jun supposed to play a larger role than to only exist to give Jin a power up not 5 minutes after just accepting the Devil Gene as a part of himself? I hate how Angel Jin looks, but being able to spam ewgf is enough to make me overlook it, and after getting the good ending which everyone who's not a mouthbreathing moron got, Jin gets off the charges of being the 21st century's biggest war criminal seemingly and rides off into the sunset of the Nevada desert with Xiaoyu, not even showing a hint of him taking steps to make up for his war crimes, it's all fine and dandy as far as the fricking UN is concerned, which billed Law for the damages the Mishima Zaibatsu caused in his ending.

Tekken 8 is a predictable follow-up to a series that's never aimed particularly high, it may please casual gamers for a day or two but the stagnant ongoing series is definitely in the second tier of fighters way below Capcom or NRS games, and it's seriously getting old and tired. The lack of depth and subtlety and the emphasis on the offensive, rather than the defensive, puts this squarely two notches below the best in the genre, the shallow gameplay leaves much to be desired from a serious fighting game player. Like the prequels, Tekken 8 is geared towards casual gamers and anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and King of Fighters games have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" heat moves are just laughably broken. Instead of supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T8 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their Heat move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, Heat system also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!
If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

After a while I could do it, but as soon as I closed the game I noticed that my wrists near the place where it connect with my thumb started hurting. Just learn a couple of combos, go online and use them. Find out what moves you are getting punished by, then go into practice and make the CPU spam that move until it is no longer an issue. Rinse and repeat. You are now a tekken master.

I hate this about modern fighting games, one-button supers that are a cutscene, autocombos, now this simplified controls shit. You start as a beginner trying to learn the game properly and have to fight a bunch of morons that can just mash one button to do high damage chains. They won't grow or get good at the the game, but they sure as shit do a great job of slowing your progress.
I like it. I can play against my son and don't have to let him win too much.

People that rely on the supers, autocombos, and simplified control shit all get destroyed by people that know what they're doing. But you're right. Rage Arts completely broke the flow of combat. It's annoying and it's not why I liked the series and got into it. Every other shitty fighter already had supers and ultimates and specials. I had more fun getting shit on by no life high ranks in Tekken 6 than I did dealing with the 12 IQ rage art spamming mongs on Tekken 7 that didn't rematch the second they realized you could block their rage art.

Spent the whole evening playing it. Tekken always had stupid stuff in it, but they went all anime in 6 and kept doubling down. The character designs are so overdone it hurts the eyes. Why does Jin have some random belts hanging around his legs etc? The story is some cape-shit trash, with the moron level tropes like "fight with your hears" and "defeat your inner weakness to free yourself from chains". Then there's the fights. You wreck a dude and he's beaten but then goes "nah-uh, I'm going to be stronger now". This happens multiple times and is boring. Remember when FGs had you pick your character, see a backstory, then fight all the dudes till the final boss and see your characters ending?
As for the game itself, it feels more anime too. Too much visual crap and it's sometimes hard to tell what is going on. Stages are even more shit than Tekken 7. In case you weren't a fan of rage arts, they are back, though do less damage, but you now have a KOF-style max mode with even more cutscene combos.
Roster is meh, cool characters like Lidia didn't make it, but they though it's somehow a good idea to add another bear.

You could probably achieve it in about a year depending on how old you are. Maybe less. If you're young under 30 years old, less than a year. If you're over 30 years old, maybe about a year or a little more. You don't need to take steroids these days. You can HRT and hormone therapy to upgrade your testosterone and naturally build more muscle. It makes you a genetic freak.
It would literally take less than a year if you aren't already fat and don't have shit genetics. Although perfectly symmetrical abs are harder to obtain.

Is it possible with the lumen mods that they'll be able to move the light placement so that it looks more natural and not overly dark? Or it's just not possible? I like lumen since it brings back the original look of the teaser trailer but you can tell the game wasn't designed with lumen in mind since none of the lights are placed in a way that makes the scene look good when it's lit.

Why has everyone basically exonerated Jin of all his wrongdoings? Only Kazuya and Devil Jin seem to call him out on it. Leo is wary of Jin but only enough to spar with him to find out. Leroy by rights should be critical of Jin's actions since his character's backstory involves the Mishima Zaibatsu. Where the frick is Miguel, who vowed to kill Jin when his hopes were at the highest point? Where's the Tekken Force game mode? Wasn't Jun supposed to play a larger role than to only exist to give Jin a power up not 5 minutes after just accepting the Devil Gene as a part of himself? I hate how Angel Jin looks, but being able to spam ewgf is enough to make me overlook it, and after getting the good ending which everyone who's not a mouthbreathing moron got, Jin gets off the charges of being the 21st century's biggest war criminal seemingly and rides off into the sunset of the Nevada desert with Xiaoyu, not even showing a hint of him taking steps to make up for his war crimes, it's all fine and dandy as far as the fricking UN is concerned, which billed Law for the damages the Mishima Zaibatsu caused in his ending.

chibi pedoadventure mode isn't too bad so far, assuming they teach you more about your character like at least one mixup they have or something. So far they taught me heat, a launch combo and armor moves.
