Worth it to play as the guy. They have different fighting styles and get different fae folk. They're both fun.
It was a release game so it took pains to showcase all the hardware including Sixaxis stuff, so yes you'll need the motions.
As said, you have to play as both for the full story but both are fun to play and have different story paths and playstyles so it's not really like playing the same game twice. Hope you enjoy it, this was a really nice little underrated gem of a game, it's a real shame it never got a sequel as it could have gotten a lot of evolution to it. Also Ellen is cute!

I sold my DS4 (massive mistake) and replaced it with a dualsense. Hope it works. I have a bootleg chinese sixaxis if not. I wish I could emulate it on steamdeck.

So from reading reddit it seems like only ps3 and ps4 controller works. They dont mention PS5 controller. No harm trying I guess.
In regards to playing as the girl. I guess you could just watch her bits online. They are mostly the same but you talk to some different npcs and whatnot and she gets different powers. Also the girl is more of the main character than the guy. At least play the game once as either of them anyways. Its a cool game and good game to play around Halloween imo.

thats what piqued my interest in it, aside from remembering it as a ps3 launch title. Id like to play through as the girl and maybe save replaying as the guy for next halloween if I really like it. I just feel like repeat playthroughs with grinding would sour my enjoyment.
I dunno if I'd call it grinding. Its not like a super long game or anything. Its more like Resident Evil where you beat the game with Leon and Claire to get the full experience. But yeah maybe don't play both back to back as it might be tedious.

seems like ps3 had some cool games. i missed that entire era. heavenly sword and white knight chronicles are just two games i feel like i would have loved playing at the time. folklore looks cool too. who knows what else i missed man. i feel like they just wouldnt hit the same if i played them today

I want to play it and I have a decent pc to do shit with now.
Even on the Steam Deck, running it on rpcs3 just works, although I played with a DualSense. Sure there's gotta be a way to map the gyro with something else.
I luckily have a ps4 controller if it's that easy to plug and play I'll try to do it when I get home.
