This game is Dark Souls everything morons on Ganker keep asking From to do. Hotkeys for spells, BB-like transformation attacks on weapon switch/two-handing, more possible weapon combos (R1 into R2 etc), Sekiro deflect etc.

In case you haven't noticed yet, the devs of this game are just a little bit obsessed with Dark Souls, and the game that happened to have released prior to the start of this game's development was Dark Souls 3, a game that is also grey and ugly.
So the devs, being the creatively bankrupt hacks they are who cannot think of videogames outside of Souls, were clearly in a euphoric post-Dark Souls 3 high while developing this game.

I'm replaying elden ring right now with the reforged mod and what sticks out to me is in fact not the gameplay which ranges from tried and true to boring and overstaying its welcome. No, what is still truly amazing to me is the world and how real it feels to me. The sense of scale, the view distance, the lighting all make it come together. Even on my Steam Deck just walking around for example caria manor gives me goose bumps late at night with the music turned off.
