What the frick is the point then? I thought they made it to make grinding tm materials easier

Test run for some feature that's supposed to be a big thing in the next games but will be scrapped for lack of time.

Lets you directly control your walking Pokemon. I don't know why it's restricted to the Terarium, seems arbitrary for such a simple feature. Using it you can farm TM materials yourself, but you're sacrificing any potential shinies that may appear, as Pokemon controlled via the synchro machine WILL kill shinies through autobattling, and any shinies encountered will despawn when you disengage the synchro machine.

None, they 100% planned on doing more with it but just didn't bother

It's a literal beta test for a more in-depth version of the mechanic in Gen 10.
Just like how the Wild Area was a beta test for Paldea's Open World.
Just like how Isle of Armor/Crown Tundra's following Pokemon were a beta test for Paldea's Let's Go mechanic.

This, seems obvious to me it's a tease like SwSh's.

Man, I'm tired of always only getting to play fricking beta tests

That's how it is when you have a franchise that relies on annual release for mainline games or their DLCs in order to keep up a constant flux of new monsters to make merchandise out of.

It was fine until the 3DS/GO. I wish we could go back to spinoffs by other devs filling the gap between generations.

Yup. GO came along and told TPC just how profitable mobile games are, so they quickly started snuffing all non-mobile spinoffs and trying to get leftover slogs like Detective Pikachu Returns out of the picture, and because TPC wasn't approving anymore spinoffs unless GameFreak themselves paid for them, eventually GF saw it cheaper, easier and MOST importantly more profitable to amplify the cycle and make a major release every fricking year.

If it didnt kill shinies and you could teleport to your pokemons location when you want to end it so shinies dont despawn it would be perfect

    No?

If a shiny Pokémon spawns you are fricked because there is ZERO chances you can catch it. I don't gamble. Frick this shit.
