As nice as that would be, New Horizons set a bad precedence giving the player so much control. A lot of what made AC good back then was that you're just another shmuck with little control over others and they're living their own life and do shit without you. In order for the personality and individuality for villagers to come back, that means less control over them and that would be considered "backwards" despite that Animal Crossing is supposed to be a life sim rather than a dollhouse simulator. Future is kinda fricked.

I hope they do better with the hourly music, I disliked almost all the tunes in NH. Good music goes a long way in helping to ignore other flaws of a game.
