Can we have a discussion on which version is the best?
Are the physics on PS3 fricked? In what way?
Are the graphics better or worse?

PCSX2 upscaled to 1080p

I didn't include emulation for a reason.
It's always the best option theoretically until you set it up and it's not anymore.
the ps3 version emulates better than the PS2 one oddly enough
>upscaled
learn the difference between upscaling and rendering
PS3 version uses pal timings (framecount logic) forced to run at 30fps which results in more frequent stumbles, shakes, and more wait times for openings and odd wait times for colossi reactions. Bluepoint admitted to this and used the weird excuse that their testers were so good they didn't notice, publicly announced a fix but never released it.
Frick them so much.
What if you play with higher framerate under PS3 emulation?
Is it really that hard? PS3 version was my first, didn't had any problems with the controls, I can't fathom how it could be any easier
PS3 version is the best if you want some semblance of actual challenge in an otherwise extremely easy game. You have to manage your stamina more and time your stabs better.
Question – do you just start a fresh file each time you play through the game?
The only added difficulty lies in how often Wander loses his footing and I guess I don't entirely hate it on a casual playthrough... but the PS3 version REALLY falls apart if you actually try to engage with the unlocks and challenge modes, it's straight up broken. It's insulting that Bluepoint clearly never playtested it.
The hard time trials in particular are where the brokenness truly shines. What used to be tests of shortcuts and physics mastery become tests of the shake cycle repeating over and over again.
I 100% completed the game. I had an easier time with the third colossus time attacks in the PS3 version than I did when I got 100% completion back on PS2. The framerate was actually solid so I was able to use skill this time, instead of having to deal with framerate fricking everything up and essentially relying on luck. It's simply a matter of learning how Wander reacts to various colossus movements and reacting accordingly. If you frick up, you're punished for it. It's much better that way.
PS2 version on a hard drive to remove load times + a Retrotink 4K or BUST. If you don't want people fricking with the game then don't buy the versions of it where they FRICKED WITH THE GAME.
or emulate, I don't know
PS3 version is superior. The physics issue is with gripping, but it is a non issue unless you are doing the time trials. But even then the time trials are still doable.
between PS2 and PS3, PS2 is the clear winner. as noted already, the physics in the ps3 version are broken and it sucks balls to play.
PS4 remake if you just care about graphics.
>t. played all 3 versions.
I have only played the PS2 version and it was over 17 years ago but the PS2 version has a horrible framerate and it was noticeable at the time
I heard the HUD on PS3 is broken in 4:3. Is this true?
why would you try to play an HD game in 4:3
I want to play on a CRT
Lmao I haven't tried it in 4:3 but I can assure you it's broken in 16:9 as well, it just stretches everything like a cheap emulator wide-screen hack.
Gameplay is the same monotonous trash in both sadly
Originals are always better. This has been true since time immemorial.
objectively false
>b-but I don't care about po-
don't care you're still wrong
They're missing the soul.
Anon it says soul right there. It even has heart.
Sometimes it can work. Like Uncharted Collection and TLOU remastered (not remake). I know Uncharted got rid of the online component but other than that with TLOU they are pretty much perfect I think
I don't understand how people look at this and think it looks amazing
I think the same thing when I see westcuck slop.
I think it looks amazing.
