Another thing I want to see is Morimoto and Unno work together again. The next Johto games would be perfect for that. Perfect opportunity to turn the franchise in the right direction.
There is a good chance Iwao is working on the next Legends game right now.
Morimoto was banished to "Battle Director" ever since HGSS because it was too good for GAME FREAK's standards. Zero percent chance they are letting him direct a game ever again.

The chap with the icon for a name misunderstood Ohmori's style. Ohmori's thing is trying to make the Pokemon world feel cohesive, like the monsters are actually part of the world and not just collectables you find in grass. That's the major theme of every game he's worked on. He even tries to make the Pokemon League feel like something that belongs in the setting and not just a leftover the game keeps around because Kanto did it.
But Ohmori's main issue is that, unlike Matsuda, he cares too much about the games and ends up more ambitious than the yearly development cycle will allow.

the director is not in charge of programming and both the direction and programming of sv's dlc are terrible

I feel like things like these are just kinda... Missing the point. Souls games are famously difficult, but if you've played a few before you know exactly how to bee-line to a good weapon that will just carry you with r1 spam. Just because you can make it easy doesn't make it easy. Yeah anyone can spam Comet Azur and win, and anyone can just only use their starter and spam A to win, but that's just not how people play these games.
You don’t need to play Pokemon games before to know spamming STABs with your starter is the best strategy. There’s a reason why even children do it. DStards have a worse understanding of Pokemon mechanics than literal children.

PLA is not difficult full stop. Beyond the awful repetitive and grindy gameplay loop, its super easy to catch high level mons at the start of the game by just mindlessly chucking balls. And the battle system is actual garbage that is designed for similarly level mons to just trade KOs. Its not difficult as much as it is differently designed to its own detriment.
There is a lot of stuff from PLA I would carry over into new gen games, but the game is fundamentally flawed in a way that main series games just aren't.
If anything BDSP and SV both have much harder endgame battles than anything Iwao has made outside of Ultra Necrozma

Masuda took over directing Gold and Silver midway through development as well.
Masuda did more than take over directing. He reworked GS his image (which is where the handholding forced cutscene cancer started). Poor Taijiri was forced to concede his vision to the suits. Though, there probably wouldn’t be a “franchise” without all the sellouts at Gayfreak. Art versus money. Money won.
