Lurker here, I have one question for all of you Sinnoh fans. How do you cope? How the frick do the people who claim Sinnoh as their GOATed region cope with the massive shit that was taken on all of the fans that is BDSP? I genuinely feel fricking sorry for you mother frickers, and again not in a point and laugh way. In a God fricking damn you guys waited 13 years for Sinnoh remakes and you got what most would say is the worst game in the franchise. You got 1 fricking shot at a remake. I know the short answer is "We play Platinum gay," but when you genuinely look at BDSP and you have to swallow what I would imagine is a ball of anger and say, "this is my remake, and i won't get another for at least a decade." How do you cope with that?

Not the OP but BDSP was totally misaligned to my playstyle (which is collecting as many pokemon as I can before I do something else). I ended up super overlevelled for the game. I honestly wish the forced EXP share was an option rather than being enabled by default

There was a time when the developers claimed that Platinum was the most superior pokemon game. The developers said in an interview that they wanted to make a game that was equated to Pokemon perfection. One that you would have no reason of picking up the older games (aside from exclusive pokemon of course.) I really do not understand why Gamefreak has lost that drive to the now said so many times, "Kids would prefer to play on their smartphone than in a battle frontier." It's as if they saw catching the last pokemon for your dex, the true post-game conclusion to a Pokemon game. It's heartbreaking, it's sad, I used to adore Gen4, and I still love a few aspects. Age has shown me the flaws of Gen4 and worse ILCA followed through with all of them, aside from having HMs on the fly for more flexible team building. You can get all the legendaries, but did ILCA do anything that was an improvement beyond that that wasn't cosmetic/graphic? PLA is my favorite pokemon game, but even I will swallow my pride and say PLA is not Sinnoh. It is Hisui. I genuinely fear for Unova remakes, and I think everyone else should, too. If not for being a fan of Gen5, Unova, but for the sake of seeing another game, that was during the era of being crafted with soul get demoralized by Gamefreak.

Anyone who wanted RS remakes were moronic. RGB/GS needed remakes, couldn't get most Gen 1/2 pokémon without them (rather, couldn't get them in Gen 3 without buying a gamecube and shitty spin-off, Gen 4 finally added all the missing).

I treat PLA as the Sinnoh remake. BDSP (along with the SWSH DLC) is still the only Pokemon game I haven't completed.

For those wondering why I keep posting suggestive Cynthia photos with my replies, it is simply because I did not want a pokegirl thread to die with mine. I wanted to provide something for those more interested in photos than my words. it doesn't rattle me. For those saying they just play Platinum. Sure, that's fine, but we both know you shouldn't have to. The general consensus is that remakes usually provide a more convenient experience than their originals. I prefer FRLG, mostly because of how fast-paced Gen3 battles are compared to LGPE, but I have to go without a lot of QoL things. It's an exchange I'm very willing to make. HGSS is generally considered to be the best remake of the franchise. I'm not trying to make this a what's the best remake thread, I'm trying to get opinions on why Sinnoh didn't get the better remake it deserved, and how fans cope. ORAS is usually more debated, but I personally believe it is equally matched with Emerald. It lacks the beloved Frontier, but what it makes up for with the Dexnav, PSS system, Megas, reusable TMs, and other QoL mechanics makes me at least appreciate that it exists at the least. If I reached for a Gen3 game and picked up either ORAS or Emerald I'd be equally pleased. I don't believe one is better than the other, but I do believe they're "good games." I sadly feel like Sinnoh didn't get a remake at all. It got Hisui, and that leads to my other point that Sara made. Hisui =/= Sinnoh. Arezu, my wife, my beloved, is not Mars. Cogita is not Cynthia, Akari is not Dawn, Rei is not Lucas, etc. These are ancestors, or as I like to call them look a likes, because it's stupid that unnatural hair color is now hereditary, but again not the point of what I'm saying. I'm saying that PLA, while I love it. It will never grant me the true Sinnoh experience, and should not be the excuse of BDSP, it SHOULD NOT BE the exception, the concellation prize, or anything.

well said anon. why didn't we get a proper remake? i blame PLA. they should have focused on a proper DP remake. i know people like PLA, some say it's okay we got a shit DP remake because we got PLA. i say the opposite, it's not okay to have PLA because we got a shit remake. it's not good enough. they lost me for one, i'll never play PLA out of spite. infact i'll never play another pokemon game again. showing zero care with a DP remake left a very bitter taste in my mouth. had we had a somewhat decent one, i would have happily bought PLA and Gen 9, flaws and all.

To be honest gen 4 didn't need a remake as much as the first two gens, and to some extent gen 3, did. It's a shame for sure, but it's not the end of the world. DS games are still very much playable and battle mechanics didn't change much since gen 4 outside of gimmickshit.
