Can you tell the difference?

What’s the key differences between the two similar photos on the original Mortal Kombat 3 character select screen?

The Genesis version photo is on the left, side-by-side with the Super NES version on the right.

Motaro and Shao Kahn on the SNES MK3 are actually in the same character select slot as Smoke, whereas on the Genesis MK3, Motaro is next to Shang Tsung, and Shao Kahn is next to Liu Kang.

    Genesis got more characters.
Genesis got dithering the most ludo video game visual effect there is.
Genesis got higher resolution character portraits making for a crisper image and more shown on screen.
Genesis got brighter blues and blacker blacks.
    Genesis got more soul baby.
    *kisses you*

attempt at some kind of console wars I guess, the same poster made another thread with MK Trilogy PS1 vs N64.
Nintendo seems to be his target, console warriors obsess over nintendo like noone else.

snes clearly has some kind of bilinear filter applied to it

not really thing is the snes was lower quality overall.
      >but muhh colors
what is the point of having a higher color palette at the expense of CPU power and other things.
      juts compare both

i don't care about that but in reality megadrive was better for certain games specially fighting games
          >mortal kombat 1 megadrive : had a better and improved gameplay over the arcade, while some sacrifices got made is still the best mortal kombat 1 and most of those improvement got carried over to the ps1 ports and so on.
only reason people say is inferior
          >megadrive ports weren't made by akklaim
          >the color palette was reduced
          >gameplay was superior to the others.
i played all of them even the arcade (which i still have)

dunno man you seem obsessed with console wars.
I like both MD and Super Nintendo, but being frank MD doesn't have any exclusive fighting game (or port, for that matter) as good as Gundam W Endless Duel... that game shits all over all the Mortal Kombat ports.
Also, if you're a fighting game fan, you shouldn't take MK too seriously, anyway.

Weirdly enough the Genesis pic would've benefited more from the filter since it would cover up the dithering like in

Does anyone remember back in 2018 when the N64 beta of MKT was released? I think it had the source code and everything.l
