My rig is just fine, but there is absolutely no reason it should take up that much space. It was the same deal with RDR2 using uncompressed textures for no fricking reason. Nobody practices optimization anymore and everything is broken on launch and runs like shit well after.

it didn't say nvme ssd required, so i'm guessing it won't have directstorage, as directstorage relies on nvme to parallelize and batch process io requests. it will not function as intended on sata ssds

Good games under 20gb are still being made. The most recent example I can think of is TOTK. Only modern AAA go past 80~ I can make some exceptions but this is just too much

But let's be honest, if you're enabling heavy RT (i.e. global illumination), you're using upscaling whether that be DLSS2 or FSR2
It's another win for GeForce as DLSS2 looks better than FSR2 at all quality levels
RT isn't a meme anymore. 3 years ago and during Turing, absolutely. It's now here to stay and is quite usable with upscaling and eventually as the 40xx gets adopted and 50xx series comes out, frame generation.
Again, nothing here gets 60fps and upscaling is a pathetic thing console users do.
RT is a meme until your top end cards can actually run it at a respectable frame rate. And even then, a 4090 struggles to get up to 120fps which a lot of people consider the minimum these days.
Half the time RT looks like arse and makes all surfaces look like mirrors.
In the end, there's no point arguing because we don't know what starfield will be like. I will be very interested when the benchmarks drop
