>You can tolerate this game with a lot of cut features from past games the same way you could this retro game I hate complying with standard Pokémon game conventions.
Pokemon has been cutting features as early as Yellow when they removed your ability to choose a starter.
But because Yellow was a roaring success profits-wise, it taught GameFreak that this is acceptable to do.
>can't fish
Instead you can find the actual pokemon swimming >can't enter houses
cant enter empty houses where 1 npc says im gay? wow 0/10 >Paldea is mostly empty and bland
Filled with trainers, pokemon, items, outbreaks, raids, wild tera mons. How exactly is it empty?
>can't see over cliff >scale up(!) the cliff >it's a plateau >find a TM and tera mon >look in the distance(!) and see another plateau with a single tree on it >jump off(!) and glide(!) to it >bird flying around the tree, valuable item behind it
(!) is stuff you can't do in previous gens
I'm not sorry I can't go back to tiny routes with tedious paths and one-way barriers. Climbing shit and jumping off to glide around is peak exploration kino even at sub-30fps.
>Instead you can find the actual pokemon swimming
And in a good game you could also FISH. Y'know, cast a rod and have a mini-game pop up. Could be anything from simple angling for sillouhettes which triggers a QTE which leads into a battle to the Pokemon being visible and your lure being moveable to different Pokemon to try and entice them into biting for an encounter >cant enter empty houses where 1 npc says im gay? wow 0/10
Entering houses in settlements is a fricking staple of the RPG genre and is absolutely something you should be able to do. Also it kills the illusion of the open world when all of your buildings are soulless blocks of geometry, only there to sell the illusion of a building. >Filled with trainers, pokemon, items, outbreaks, raids, wild tera mons. How exactly is it empty?
And where are the side quests? Bonus areas that actually have something fun to see? Actually fun shit?
An open world needs to have actual THINGS in it anon, not just more battles, it's the blessing and the curse of the genre.
BotW worked because you had a ton of shrines to do, versatile gameplay systems that allowed you to do all sorts of fun and whacky shit in-game that made general traversal fun (while also not locking your means of traversal like SV do once you clear the tutorial area), the occasional mini-boss and cool things to interact with like the Dragons, Great Fairies and occasional location based quest.
You can't do anything in Paldea's world besides battle, pick shit up off the floor and buggy ass battles with 3 idiots against a damage sponge.
I should be able to do cool things while traversing with the Raidons, uncover new areas by destroying geometry or exploiting gusts of wind (since they can't generate their own lift for some reason) to soar to great heights and reach new, interesting areas. Once you've cleared the main story, all you can do is grind for online shit or shinies, that's not fun, anon. It makes Paldea feel empty.
>Entering houses in settlements is a fricking staple of the RPG genre
Good thing Pokemon isnt RPG. >And where are the side quests? Bonus areas that actually have something fun to see? Actually fun shit?
SV has all of those. Maybe try playing the game?
Fishing just calls an encounter table. There's no need if you can see the Pokemon yourself. Just throw a Pokeball at what you want and catch it like normal.
For real, I’m constantly baffled by how much praise SC gets from both casuals and hardcore fans alike. There are a few things it does pretty well, but it’s so overrated and buggy and ugly.
It would be better to cast a rod and pull up a random fish. It’s dumb that all the fish swim at surface level.
>I’m constantly baffled by how much praise SC gets from both casuals and hardcore fans alike.
Playing with someone else in union circle and laughing at how shit the game ran made it a lot more fun, even if it was just in a "it's so bad it's funny" way. I kept getting a glitch where my face would get stuck in an emote expression so every time I got the photo for beating a gym or titan my character would be making completely the wrong face.
The region itself is awful and devoid of anything so I don't know how people can praise that aspect. NPCs are either exclusively in towns or on the main road for example. I normally make a point to beat every trainer in games but I don't think I even battled 10 non-story ones in this.
I honestly don't get it, the games have so little of what makes Pokemon good and yet they're one of the best selling pairs of games.
I guess I'm getting old, I just can't tolerate the things todays kids, teens and young adults can accept. The graphics are abysmal for the release year, there's frick all content unless you go for dex completion and the music is unimpressive for the most part. For a Spanish region the music is awful, Spain has a myriad of musical styles, how a game based in such a region have such soulless music?
>fishing
Oh boy, I love mashing A until RNG gives me the Pokemon I want, except I need to wait until I get a rod worth a shit because GameFreak thought they were clever making a meta joke about how useless key items with the Old Rod which could literally only fish up Magikarp originally! >houses
Oh boy, I can't wait to talk to NPCs to learn about type advantages, berries and the bonds between people and Pokemon!
So you prefer broken battles, glitchy encounters in "muh open world" and to be told the super effective shit forcefully in the trainer school. Based zoomers!
Actually, LGPE was even more open and non-linear than the original Kanto games. After you beat Misty you were completely free to do things in virtually any order you wished until the routing converges back onto Giovanni as your final gym, all courtesy of Hidden Techniques not actually requiring badges.
I knew there was no limit to how low the floor was for open-worldgays. They don't want NPCs to have houses, and they don't want fish under the water. All they want is a field with people and pokemon on top. I'm done blaming GF, why try when players don't want you to.
They don't even care now that nemona is a canon lesbian, see how nobody is making threads about it? Ganker had one and they all ignored it, and talked about how good the game is, and how it "doesn't affect my experience, so who cares". Zoomers are lost and love pozz.
Every civilization who has embraced homos has collapsed. It is just a question of time, and you can cry that it ain't true all you want, won't make a difference. Soon pedos will be legal.
>>can't fish >>can't enter houses
is mostly empty and bland
So, all things that massively applied to Alola and Galar. >How can you anons tolerate SV?
By playing it since unlike the former mentioned regions it actually lets me do that and is fun. The performance is absolutely a hindrance but let's not act like it hasn't been going down the shitter every game since Sun and Moon as is.
>Except you can actually fish and enter Houses in Alola and Galar
If you honestly believe this you've never played any of Gens 1-6. The way they "let" you do that in Alola and Galar is functionally equivalent to not having it at all.
I don't. I played it for about 25 hours, rushed to the end game, was disappointed and have not touched it since. If I want a competent Pokemon experience I will play literally any game between Gens 1 and 5.
Pokemon has been stuck in a pattern of progressing one step while regressing two steps.
Ever since the series left the 3DS, the design of the generic trainers have been pure shit. I appreciate some of the gameplay improvements in Scarlet and Violet but was it necessary to sacrifice the cute trainers? Could we not have both?
the same way you tolerate BW
>can fish
>can enter houses
>Unova is lush and soulful
It's not the same at all.
rent free
>You can tolerate this game with a lot of cut features from past games the same way you could this retro game I hate complying with standard Pokémon game conventions.
>>You can tolerate this game with a lot of cut features from past games
Yes, you can tolerate BW.
>MUH BERRIES, OLD ROD AND GOOD ROD
Uh-huh. Nice to see you're still schizing it up, bud.
>w-wait cut features suddenly don't count if it's a game I like
Pokemon has been cutting features as early as Yellow when they removed your ability to choose a starter.
But because Yellow was a roaring success profits-wise, it taught GameFreak that this is acceptable to do.
Sharty post
Fishing is obsolete and honestly a waste of time with random encounters gone.
I enjoyed random encounters, I really liked fishing too
Talking to npcs and occasionally getting items
You guys actually entered houses? What’s the point?
>can't fish
Instead you can find the actual pokemon swimming
>can't enter houses
cant enter empty houses where 1 npc says im gay? wow 0/10
>Paldea is mostly empty and bland
Filled with trainers, pokemon, items, outbreaks, raids, wild tera mons. How exactly is it empty?
Agreed on all of these points.
>How exactly is it empty?
Lack of substantial substance.
Like what? What was in previous games that "had substance"? An NPC who said a thing, like in SV? An item, like in SV?
Openworld was a mistake for everything but GTA
>cant fish in GTA
>cant go into random houses
bros...
>can't see over cliff

Lol what
He's right that modern Pokemon certainly isn't.

ITT: zoomers cry and seethe about facts

Spain is soulless too, so it works
There are more children nowadays and it's a console game unlike previous installments which were handheld and everyone has a switch .
If there isn't a fishing minigame it's not a video game.
Don't forget trainer customization, OP. The fact that were stuck wearing uniforms really shows how limited the game is.
It's weird how uniforms are so limited in SV, but there's greater options for facial customization than in SwSh.
It's the worst mainline games

No, i dont like RBY.
RBY aren't open world. The trainer school isn't forced. Why are you so fricking moronic?
RBY were the most open and non-linear games until SV
Actually, LGPE was even more open and non-linear than the original Kanto games. If you honestly believe this you've never played any of Gens 1-6. The way they "let" you do that in Alola and Galar is functionally equivalent to not having it at all.
Because the actual monster selection and gym challenge is better than it's been for a long time.

I don't. I played it for about 25 hours, rushed to the end game, was disappointed and have not touched it since. If I want a competent Pokemon experience I will play literally any game between Gens 1 and 5.
nice parroting, buttblasted zoomie.
Meant for
This dick is meant for you, all for you.
Wow, gay... /soc/ thread 2 floors below, troonchad...
cry more, zoomer troon.
This tbh.
I tried giving the games the chance but they feel so empty and devoid of things to do.
Truly the best Pokemon games ever created. Can't wait for how Gen 10 could top that.
They will probably cut more content
Pokemon has been stuck in a pattern of progressing one step while regressing two steps.
