>Nintendo >Caring about PR
These gays go shut down all fan projects left and right without mercy. They don't care. They know twitter isn't a real place so nonsense posted there doesn't matter.
Not really. Long as Nintendo has the family/children/manchildren demographic that don't give two shits as long as Mario keeps getting made, they'll be fine in their corner.
Disaster? Anyone I know who cares about this wants Nintendo to eviscerate them. If headlines read a company was blantantly ripping off POKEMON, a franchise everyone has heard of, it's just free publicity and will cement in people's mind that it's good shit if it's worth copying.
>Anyone I know who cares about this wants Nintendo to eviscerate them.
Only seething lefties and other whiny manchildren who made Nintendo their entire identity.
I haven't owned a Nintendo product since I was a child. Have you seen the model comparisons? They're not inspired, they're literally assets that are swapped and combined from several pokemon.

>Have you seen the model comparisons?
Yeah I've seen how the guy who did them admitted he was rescaling shit to attack Palworld for 'animal abuse' and then I saw another guy go through and look at the topography and show how they're completely different and it would be ridiculously labor intensive to completely change the internals of the pokemon model into the pal model. Meaning they can't be stolen assets. They, at best, looked at a pokemon model then built their own models from the ground up to look similar, which isn't the same thing.

>and show how they're completely different and it would be ridiculously labor intensive to completely change the internals of the pokemon model into the pal model
This is complete bullshit and everyone who has even touched a modelling program would know it. I'm not arguing one way or another but having different topology is meaningless and completely changing it can be done in a matter of minutes.

Obviously not you since you are unaware that retopo, remesh, subdivision are literally 1 click in many programs and completely alter the topology, this isn't naming the infinite other methods you could use to complete shift it. You are also ignorant of the fact that importing to UE automatically changes the topology again and turns every quad into a triangle. The combination of these actions will always lead to wildly different end results. The dumb fricks acting like touching topology is an arcane art and that its less time consuming to build a mesh from scratch than re-mesh and scale an existing model with exactly the same proportions are moronic at best and malicious at worst.

They'll have to give the money to Nintendo. You can't just break copyright laws to make money then keep the money afterwards otherwise everyone would do it.

Lovander looks like Salazzle and it's description of being obsessed with mating is also directly lifted from Salazzle's Pokedex entry about forming harems of Salandits.
That alone is evidence Palworld's designers were 'designing' their monsters with bulbapedia open the whole time.

The fact that none of these have the same name as Pokemon and have widely different changes to their appearances, makes them legally distinct. Legally distinct is a term that is used for things that seem similar to something, but legally isn't the same because it has distinctive differences. It's why we have have things like Pepsi, it's why we have things like Nathan Drake, it's why we have things like a million fricking versions of vampire Survivors without the creator of the original game being able to sue every single one of them.

The people picking up that dude's tweets have no idea how modeling works, they don't know what a mesh is. And the guy himself admitted that he KNOWS he's being a little homosexual, but is doing it anyway to protest 'animal abuse' (and probably pokemon cultism but he's too ashamed to admit it.)
of fricking course you have to scale them to fit. It they stole the assets 1-1 you would still have to scale them to fit since every game uses a different sense of scale.
>You can't just break copyright laws to make money then keep the money afterwards otherwise everyone would do it.
You can't just ignore defending your copyright until the offender has made enough money for you to claim it should be yours. If Nintendo had a case against Palworld they would have stopped them already. If you don't defend your copyright you can lose it, so clearly if Palworld doesn't infringe on Pokemon's copyright due to too many differences then Nintendo doesn't have a reason to defend their copyright.
>You can't just ignore defending your copyright until the offender has made enough money for you to claim it should be yours.

With all the money Nintendo has they could easily afford to make a 1:1 copy of Palworld with Pokémon, but you know what? People are lazy. Stealing and Sueing is easier.
>they can easily afford to remake all the Pals with 100% original designs
But Ganker told me all the Pal designs ARE original and could never be mistaken as infringing on Nintendo’s IP.
Honestly that's a solid point. Has Nintendo REALLY said anything at all about this? Or has everyone just assumed Nintendo would come in both barrels because Pokefans reed that their stagnant franchise might finally be drying up.
Nintendo clamped down instantly on the Pokemon mod. If there was anything for them to have done about Palworld it would have been done last week at minimum
This. At most they will do the research, but it's unlikely anything serious will be found. People keep faking different things like sharing models and stuff, so it's too hard to figure out what's an actual issue and what's a Pokegay fake made one.
one way or another they will probably be able to leverage removing the game's modding capacity, due to its capability to be used to infringe on copyright.
>8 mil copies sold on steam alone in 6 days >2nd most concurrent players on steam ever >>>>>>nice run
Black person this is the best run in gaming history period, not even botw can compete
I think the success and viewership of Palworld speaks for itself on what the consuming audience thinks about the whole thing.
But really what do anons like you get out of all of this? Some quick self satisfaction before we all go back to consuming the same modern Pokecrap since the 90s?
Or just the feeling that alot of time was wasted and you feel self smug about it.
I mean between this, Ganker breaking it's mind again, and the twitter arguments about the use of AI in some of the game (apparently I think just monster design but I don't know the details, just that AI is used and that's the mark of the beast).
Frankly end of the day I think it's just Pokeman fans pissed that a ACTUAL competitor finally showed up long after all the other shows about trading cards stopped giving a shit.
I haven’t touched a Pokemon game in a decade and couldn’t care less about the franchise. I’m pissed that this shithole and most of the internet are unironically buying template “early access survival crafting open world Unreal Engine” slop ONCE AGAIN and further rewarding lazy devs for playing to the lowest common denominator. The vidya industry is decaying but it’s being kept alive by a sudden influx of third worlders and moronic zoomers who will buy anything their funny haha e-celeb “friends” get paid to try out.
I honestly don't get it. It's a survival crafting game where you give Pokemon real world guns. I guess people are just really really desperate for a GOOD Pokemon game that does something, anything interesting at all.
I mean it's been in development for 3 years and they've known about it and ignored it. They are going to have a tough time proving that they aren't just going after a competitor just because they are surprisingly successful and not because they believe they were infringed upon.
This. It's why personally I don't think Nintendo will actually do anything; they really can't. Not unless they want to sheepishly admit that their handling of Game Freak and Pokémon have been so shit that it's caused a deficit of good Pokémon games
A deficit so deep people will pay for a decent EA game.
There's not even that many guns in the game from what clips I could find online. I'd thought for "Pokemon with guns!" there would be some extra variety.
Of course it's EA so I'm sure that'll be remedied, and the main crux of this EA launch was simply "Here's a fully functioning game to play that isn't eggs".
>Palworld has been on Nintendo's radar for nearly 3 years >Both companies are Japanese so they both understand IP laws very clearly >Braindead morons online think that somehow for some fricking reason NIntendo didn't go for Palworld and shut it down until now just because its making mad money.
I mean they well could be. Maybe it's just anons actually happy for a interesting spin on Pokemon for once and you just can't mentally accept that anyone would be happy for any originality anymore.
Or that for ONCE in this Capitalist world of ours, actual COMPETITION, a core tenant OF capitalism, is happening and not just more undermining or buying out.
Pokemon had it's run for nigh on three decades, until it stagnated, because the other competition died in the 2000s, and legions of fans are always there to support you no matter what...at least until said fans start wanting for more again and not just the same game copy pasted, poorly turned into sandbox titles, and even Game Freak scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of monster designs in a franchise oversaturated with them.
The Dam had to break eventually, and Palworld might be the one to actually go and do it. This concerns Game Freak whose entire purpose IS Pokemon.
Probably not Nintendo, they still have Mario and frankly after three decades maybe they'll kick Game Freak into gear proper and tell them to "go back to basics" to get the fans crawling back to the even classic tune of "IT'S GOOD AGAIN GUYS! IT'S 2D SPIRTES AGAIN, WE'RE BACK WE'RE SOO BACK!"
Even if something happens (good luck, lmao), the damage is already done. Millions of people flocked to a better version of Pokemon as soon as it came out, how well do you think this is going to look for Nintendo's reputation? Especially if they do manage to shut it down?
So do tendies get anything if Nintendo sues Pocketpair and wins? Was this a tendie's introseption or something they got from an eceleb to try and fit in?
1. /vp/ is a god awful coomer discord groomer board with the worst taste in video games since zoomers got fortnite. all they do is jerk off to cartoons
2. pokemon as a video game hasnt been reven remotely good since the very first gameboy games where they actually beat the competition with nonlinear gameplay, post-game, 2-player combat, and all on fricking handheld
3. the only time pokemon was in the zeitgeist was during pokemania in the earliest 2000s, with the cards and the anime. And yes, Go doesnt count as its just another cellphone addiction ar software
4. their entire competitive scene is fricking laughable, not only are these malding autismos playing a kids game austicially, they are actually cheating and acting entitled to cheating. in a game about collecting somehow they refuse to collect the games and the pokemon
>Paltard community has existed only a few days and they are already far worse than Pokémon fans could ever be.
That's because it's a mix of those who flock to every interchangeable FOTM survival game with a different skin. Disillusioned Pokemon fans who blindly back every alternative regardless of gameplay, and idiots who'll pay a premium for an Early Access game that will never be finished but are in deep denial about being scammed.
I don't really care. The fact that a frickton of people is genuinely furious because a better implementation of the Pokemon concept is extremely popular, to the point of desperately searching for anything they can do to try bringing it down, is absolutely fricking hilarious.
The whole official message is pure PR speech that's clearly mean to get fans to stop harassing them with emails and calls to sue everyone. It won't work because you can't calm or reason with the insane, but that's why the message was put out.
Someone needs to let trannies know that the "I'm definitely a woman and can be trusted around women" smile all transbian troons do comes across like a leering smirk to anyone with a basic radar for male hostility.
>TPC investigates Palworld >TPC fires Gamefreak, hires on the Palworld devs and canonizes all of the Pals as official Pokemon
It's happening, Pokemon is healing in 2024!
>Palworld devs just re-use existing pokemon assets instead of blurring the lines and pretending its theirs >Pokémon remains exactly as shitty as before just in hire this man unreal engine HD >no new pokemon ever get made because there's nobody to steal from.
>Now, in 2024, the concept of Early Access releases has fully ripened. Our goal with Palworld is to fix as many disadvantageous bugs as possible before the release, and then focus on making it a better game based on user feedback. We wanted to ensure a certain level of quality with Palworld – at the moment, it’s a lot more stable than Craftopia, but not as stable as, say, a full-priced AAA game would be.

>They would have shutdown the game as soon as the first trailer came out
People keep saying this but none of the questionable designs were in the trailer. Sorry but azurobe is a smoking bullet that they were at least tracing Pokémon assets. I’m just not sure if “trace a model then add things/reskin it” infringes on copyright in Japan.
Nobody focuses on the Superior part of it. It's always about the hair it copied from Primarina. My thinking is that it's because Primarina is seen as a 'trans icon' in the pokemon community, so the people most likely to lose their mind about someone stepping on Pokemon's toes all personally identify with Primarina. You didn't just copy pokemon, you stole from 'them' personally.
>Vtubers are playing >it got the chink market >ecelebs on youtube are talking about >cuckey made a video about it >nonstop xitter wars and drama
they couldn't have picked a better time to pull this shit, frick word of mouth when you have terminally online people constantly taking stances only to push curious normalgays to actually try out the game.
It's funny that people will defend years of shitty Tackle animations and overworld design but get up in arms when someone mimics the design philosophy. It's like a pavlovian response from years of poke mania.
Love how morons keep saying "Nintendo" when discussing Pokemon and Palworld. They have nothing to do this controversy and potential lawsuit. The Pokemon Company has majority rights to their IP and handles everything about it.
>Draw and animate completely made up monsters and give them guns >OMG OMG OMG THEY STOLE THE DESIGNS FROM POKEMANS!!!!!11

With all the money they got, they can easily afford to remake all the Pals with 100% original designs. Nintendo already lost.

Guns are behind several hours of progression
>Palworld has been on Nintendo's radar for nearly 3 years
>Both companies are Japanese so they both understand IP laws very clearly
>Braindead morons online think that somehow for some fricking reason NIntendo didn't go for Palworld and shut it down until now just because its making mad money.
lol
just
lol
It's esls anon
The fact that palworld is japanese still catches morons off guard sometimes
>he thinks these threads are organic
lmao
just
lmao
It's not even pokemon adjacent.
Look at the sales of the games and tell me they need to do something about it.
They still have no seen any knock on effects of SV release either.
>rights infringed
Copyright is the RIGHT to copy. The only thing that infringes it is law.
Cope
That's already canon for Pals tho
okay, I gave a chuckled
Even if something happens (good luck, lmao), the damage is already done. Millions of people flocked to a better version of Pokemon as soon as it came out, how well do you think this is going to look for Nintendo's reputation? Especially if they do manage to shut it down?
hopefully it'll at least shave palworld threads from entire sections of the catalogue, entire fricking pages even, to a thread or two
yeah man how dare a lot of people make threads to talk about a game that got 2m concurrent players this week
entirely inorganic I'd say
And 27million more will buy the next Pokemon anyway like they always do.
Shit, probably more now so they can "prove" their loyalty to Gamefreak
you gon be waiting a long time. Also if you read the article it says they know about the game and have no plans to do anything.
So do tendies get anything if Nintendo sues Pocketpair and wins? Was this a tendie's introseption or something they got from an eceleb to try and fit in?
Wtf, is this real?
literal israelitetuub poop lil zoomie
please stop being moronic
ayo fr? the cat got drip yo srs aint no stanley ai ?
The article is about that one mod, by the way
Yeah it's a soulless assetflip with ties to CCP money, let it burn
"Turd nugget"? Did you step out of a time machine from 2001?
Before it was a question if Nintendo would sue the Palworld devs. Now it's a question if they will have them killed.
AIYEEEEEEE SAVE ME NAVYMAN
FROM THE BIG BAD PIRATE
two weeks bro, your settlements will CRUMBLE
Paltard community has existed only a few days and they are already far worse than Pokémon fans could ever be.
gonna cry?
t. seething Poketard that hates fun
You are?
Frick no, I'm a Palchad that has has an absolute shitton of fun these last few days.
>Premium
>$30
?
>Pals could be here, he thought.
I don't really care. The fact that a frickton of people is genuinely furious because a better implementation of the Pokemon concept is extremely popular, to the point of desperately searching for anything they can do to try bringing it down, is absolutely fricking hilarious.
Who cares?
Poketroons won't do shit.
2 more weeks ok?
>IF
so this is a massive nothing burger that twitter tards and liberal journalists are creaming over. what ever happened to user rights?
The whole official message is pure PR speech that's clearly mean to get fans to stop harassing them with emails and calls to sue everyone. It won't work because you can't calm or reason with the insane, but that's why the message was put out.
Seethe more
>LMAOOOOOOOKOMOMOMOAHAHA
most medicated xitter user
I mean the bottom picture is right
It is legally distinct from the pokemon character
I forgot how pretentious the art community is. I hope AI gets good enough to replace them
Is that unhinged troony moronic? The drawing is 100% legally distinct, it was even custom made, literally no different to Palworld's moster.
Not everyone uses lawyers to determine their moral compass.
Ripping something off isn't illegal. Tendie's are the most moronic fanbase to ever exist.
>pokemon invented humans
If they chouldn't shut down Digimon, they can't even touch Palworld.
Cope, seethe, dilate.
Oh no, now that gamefreak got competition they actually have to put up some effort, the horror.
Why are they like this?
Someone needs to let trannies know that the "I'm definitely a woman and can be trusted around women" smile all transbian troons do comes across like a leering smirk to anyone with a basic radar for male hostility.
the technical term is "agp rapehon smirk"
cope
You do realize they just put out that statement to tell you guys to stop sending them emails over Palworld and to just shut up, right?
>TPC investigates Palworld
>TPC fires Gamefreak, hires on the Palworld devs and canonizes all of the Pals as official Pokemon
It's happening, Pokemon is healing in 2024!
>Palworld devs just re-use existing pokemon assets instead of blurring the lines and pretending its theirs
>Pokémon remains exactly as shitty as before just in hire this man unreal engine HD
>no new pokemon ever get made because there's nobody to steal from.
thank frick
>Now, in 2024, the concept of Early Access releases has fully ripened. Our goal with Palworld is to fix as many disadvantageous bugs as possible before the release, and then focus on making it a better game based on user feedback. We wanted to ensure a certain level of quality with Palworld – at the moment, it’s a lot more stable than Craftopia, but not as stable as, say, a full-priced AAA game would be.
https://automaton-media.com/en/interviews/20240123-25950/
I am transgender artist and Palworld was like holocaust for the entire art community. Finish them off, Nintendo
Nintendo doesn’t have a case
They would have shutdown the game as soon as the first trailer came out
>They would have shutdown the game as soon as the first trailer came out
People keep saying this but none of the questionable designs were in the trailer. Sorry but azurobe is a smoking bullet that they were at least tracing Pokémon assets. I’m just not sure if “trace a model then add things/reskin it” infringes on copyright in Japan.
Short answer: no
Long answer: no, but same basically anywhere
I'm sure using ripped asset in your workflow even if its just for reference will get you into trouble when you're making such a shameless ripoff.
You guys get the feeling that maybe the issue isn't exactly the industry and maybe Ganker is just a board full of miserable jagoffs?
I mean c'mon first the bear fricking and now this?
Unironically based.
Think about it, they were like "Nah, let's wait for them to make more money. We'll take more that way."
I wonder why Azurobe is the one the pokegays are so seethingly obsessed with. Not even Direhowl gets this much hate.
Because azurobe is the most blatant of all of them, it’s practically a reskin of serperior.
You didn't just copy pokemon, you stole from 'them' personally.
something something leave the multi-billion company alone
Palworld publisher shareholders couldnt ask for better marketing than pokemon company being jealous of them
>Vtubers are playing
>it got the chink market
>ecelebs on youtube are talking about
>cuckey made a video about it
>nonstop xitter wars and drama
they couldn't have picked a better time to pull this shit, frick word of mouth when you have terminally online people constantly taking stances only to push curious normalgays to actually try out the game.
It's funny that people will defend years of shitty Tackle animations and overworld design but get up in arms when someone mimics the design philosophy. It's like a pavlovian response from years of poke mania.
t.play Monster Rancher instead.
The Pokemon company isn't Nintendo
Love how morons keep saying "Nintendo" when discussing Pokemon and Palworld. They have nothing to do this controversy and potential lawsuit. The Pokemon Company has majority rights to their IP and handles everything about it.
Zelda, Smash, Animal Crossing, new mainline Mario games and Mario Kart all outsell Pokemon too.
>The Pokemon Company is investigating Palworld
IT'S AFRAID
>Draw and animate completely made up monsters and give them guns
>OMG OMG OMG THEY STOLE THE DESIGNS FROM POKEMANS!!!!!11
Pokemon players are such stupid homosexuals. Picrel
What I wanna know is why the frick are random people so assmad? I can understand if nintendo is mad that their shit gets copied, but why the frick would a random 16 year old from twitter get mad? you can just not play it. There's literally no harm done to you. You just decide to look at things that make you angry and then you get assmad about it. Why?
The brand is their identity.
when you though gamefreak couldn't be more incompetent they go and eat a bait made by a literal who twittergay
The gay even ended on, "Yeah I know pokemon is animal abuse, it's bad too"!!!
Oh those poor 1's and 0's. Will somebody please think of the poor make believe animals!!!!
You don't think Microsoft's lawyers looked it over with a microscope before putting it on gamepass?
Nah, they were too busy firing all their staff
