Jackfrags blew the lid on software that enables controller aim assist for mouse and keyboard. Games like CoD, Apex and the Finals have aim assist that is so strong that it's almost borderline soft aimbotting. These noobcrutches are now available for MnK players as well. So now you can have all the benefits of mouse and keyboard AND aim assist.
I hope the entire aim assist fad dies horribly as a result of this.

I gave up on them in 2016 as soon as TF2 introduced "Quickplay". Valve hid the community server button and then created an algorithm that rewarded server owners to run a pre-set VALVE only cycle.

It should be based on input, and attempts at bypassing input based checks and balances should be considered cheating.
10 years too late to the party. Most PCgays now are ex-consolegays and will play their rooty-tooty-point-n-shooty games with a gamepad, and thus gamedevs will implement strong aim assist because you'd be stupid to miss out on 70% of your sales.
just play games with dedicated servers and admins, so once you find out who cheaters are, the admins can ban them and be done with it

This is the game's fault tbh. I tried a similar solution for APEX and emulating a controller with m+kb was a net downside because of how looking around changed.

It's been a few years that people have been using xinput and other softwares to spoof a controller to get the "free" aim assist while using kb+m.
The best way to get rid of that would be to remove aim assist but then the console babies would cry so you could remove crossplay and outright remove controller on PC.
At any rate this is just the tip of the iceberg and while online FPS have been a joke since the early days of CS it's only gotten worse over time.

I just don't see the point of doing things like cheating or using programs to give you no recoil/etc. The entire point of the game is to put yourself to the test VS others and see how good you can do. Yes, I understand that it's more of a mental issue for these people that they "have" to win or "I paid for the game so I get to play my way" or whatever. But I just can't fathom doing it because it's so dumb and gay to do so.

There's literally no way to fix this problem. I could program an arduino in 5 minutes to take my mouse inputs and feed them into an "official" xbone controller, and it's completely undetectable and impossible to fix without removing the free aimbot for morons who use controllers.
