Tales in general feel like that, Abyss tried something different but it ended up with one of the most hated casts ever so from then on most of the games have more or less the same tone as Vesperia, Graces is even more juvenile, Xillia and Xillia 2 are more or less the same, Zestiria and Berseria are fricking terrible and Arise is essentially a different game with the name Tales slapped on it.
I don't ever understand this complain. Boss has to not be easily stunned to be relevant boss. I don't understand people who just want to stun lock a boss to death. I don't think the hp is too high neither and I don't even grind for level on hard difficulty first play through. The 2nd region boss is probably the only truly hard boss in the whole game (mostly due to hard difficulty pushing his "2nd phase" clone shit into the whole fight). When I get to kisara (probably the strongest character to use), the game is a breeze. I was good with law as well and his dps is even higher if you upkeep the glowing fist thing

I hate the way skits work after like, Xillia. They're so stilted and poorly paced. I don't want all this cut in shit, I can't imagine the old style costing that much, it was basically just syncing PNGs to dialogue and jiggling them. I can only imagine they changed to "Modernize" but it just makes it look cheaper (somehow) and sound worse.
I tried playing the tales with the cute yaoi couple that live up in the village in the sky and got bored by the time slightly angry people started turning into demons.
