The Stymied. Grab the key, run to the end, kill the Malboro. It's a "boss" in that mission and you don't have to fight anything else so it's easy high end equipment in under a minute, loading screens included
Some rangebans are weird. Like I can post in my shitty area, but whenever I go to my sisters house in her nice comfy village near the sea filled with nothing but well off old people I'm rangebanned.
Was some rich 80 year old shitposting the hell out of Ganker a few months back or something?
Hows the game after all DLCs? i pirated the game back when it dropped last year and finished it, i kinda considering buying it either this or Dark souls 1 and 2 but i already pirated the remaster after i played SoP
The DLC boss fights are all great
New weapons/jobs will depend on your tastes, they've all got their selling points though
I think rift is better in concept than execution, but dlc2 only requires going to floor 20 and it's just something to go back to if you want more game after dlc3 or just like seeing your name on a leaderboard
Well worth the money at launch, definitely worth grabbing with the summer sale
I just finished ffxvi, and I've played most ff games before but missed out on SoP, I know it's a spin-off/ alternative of ff1, but how is the gameplay?
One of the best gameplay out right now. There's so many gameplay mechanics and jobs in this game that makes it feel fresh. The learning curve is very deep and most people cheese the game. The only issue is the diablo loot system with armor and weapons.

Hey, if it has a loot system then I'm sold as I felt that was one thing ffxvi sorely lacked, although I enjoyed that game I found it very uninspired when it came to item rewards and loot.
Need something to take my mind off ffxvi as it's depressing me having completed the game and not having anything more to do so I'll pick up SoP, sale came right in time.

This game has alot of content and it is a time sinker. It really depends how good you are with the game mechanics. Every DLC adds a new mechanic to keep it fresh.
You can get the dlc weapons from the very beginning of the game, which unlocks the respective jobs (gun for Marksman->Hunter->Gambler, staff for Pilgrim->Evoker). Summoner and Blue Mage unlock from dlc1 and dlc2 respectively, so you can't play those till much later.
Not an FF fan, dropped Nioh around the same time as you, and put over 200 hours into SoP, if that tells you anything
For a while I couldn't post because someone in my neighborhood kept posting his penis on /vp/. One time it let me look up the reason for the ban and it was just pictures of penises.
Fun game but it's optimized like shit so you still get stuttering and frame drops even on high end rigs
Also basically unplayable on deck unless you drop everything as low as it can go and then it's just a blurry mess
I enjoy it a lot after starting recently, but i can't figure out the combat for shit.
I did the tutorial and the first chaos dungeon twice (My save got deleted once) and chaos steamrolled my ass on medium a trillion times, and normal mobs too sometimes. I just can't get a grasp in blocking properly and how to not die all the time. Maybe it's because I'm too determined to play through the whole game only as pugilist and nothing more. Frick swords, frick daggers, frick all of it, real men only use their fists.
Just to be clear, do you mean blocking blocking or soul shield blocking? Also its worth it to level all other jobs because all the weapon skills and commands are shared. Fists in general depend alot on getting the hit buff bonus to lvl3 as it massively improves your basic charge attack. Its pretty nice
>Blocking?
Both. I can't grasp the idea when to use what and most of the time i get hit through either one because i can't manage the block meter for shit. I also don't really understand how does MP work in this either. >Level all other jobs
Yeah but that would require using them.
The tutorial notes spells it out
if you know what a move is and its timing, soul shield. if you don't, block.
Remember that you have two stamina bars by swapping jobs. You are 100% intended to use this for normal play.
Normal blocking just stops recovery and is pretty much good for a good chunk of attacks. You lose miniscule stamina with it. Soul shielding on the other hand actively drains stamina and you lose a good chunk of it from taking in an attack. The good thing about soul shield is that it can suck in enemy abilities and let you use them, alongside stunning some enemies where a normal block wouldnt and giving you some mp back. You mostly gain MP back by hitting enemies but soul shielding can come in pretty clutch. You can level all the jobs while playing only one, either through armor affinity or by using crystals. Seriously use the crystals. Youre gonna have so many later on there is no point in just keeping them
He is playing the game just fine if it works.
Sage is a class just like any other. Just because he inst melting everything as an optimized Dark Knight for his Nioh style webms doesn't mean something is wrong.
It's still functional. I feel like the damage falls off as it's significantly easier to buff physical damage, but I also didn't bother getting good magic gear in dlc3 and the power ceiling ends up so high I'm sure you can just nuke everything with anything anyway
It's still functional. I feel like the damage falls off as it's significantly easier to buff physical damage, but I also didn't bother getting good magic gear in dlc3 and the power ceiling ends up so high I'm sure you can just nuke everything with anything anyway
Counter should also work. Spells are 'charged attacks' and it also gives light flinch resistance
I'm strictly talking in terms of damage per hit, not cast speed. I'm always running void 600% dragoon 400% + Lunatic, and Reinforce+red mage 250% for axe/mages. Magic misses out on strong buffs like Hunter's -99% phys res and also wants to invest more in charge/attack speed than most things, so the damage per attack doesn't reach the same heights
I doubt it matters before rift level 180 dlc3 if ever though, I still used sage and blue mage for dlc3 story and a decent amount of rift
You can still pop inky envy if you really need it. Its not 99% but still pretty good. But like you said even at at rift 300 with all dragon challenges turned on, very few bosses stand a chance against a minmaxed build. Thats the wonderful thing about SoP. Everything really is viable.
I was in the same boat as you anon, leaning heavily on sage to spam magic attacks at a distance while my allies kept bosses busy.
I would strongly urge you to do the following if you want to really get the most out of the game, and actually learn it:
1) Bench your allies (for a while, at least, through DLC 1 and 2).
2) Try different weapons and jobs while soloing.
You're gonna get rocked a lot at first but there's no better way to learn the game mechanics (command abilities, combo abilities, charges, etc.). It made the game completely different for me, and I did void knight + sage + allies throughout most of the story.
Good on ya
The game was designed on Hard; it's not a ballbuster the first time around.
Try whatever jobs and weapons you like, and spend Anima shards to level jobs up. There's no rainy day to save them for.
Don't ignore the tutorials, they're brief.
I want more games with staff-chain whips. I WANT MORE FRICKING GAMES WHERE I CAN GO GRUG MODE WITH A LONG PIECE OF CHAIN CONNECTED TO A ROCK AND SMASH THINGS WITH IT. Do other suck games exist outside of SoP?

Sentinel itself isn't, but some form of 1hko prevention is, unless you really enjoy having to play perfectly. Knightbringer enables so much bullshit the only real reason to use something else is not enjoying it or not yet having room in your gear for it, though. An anon posted a webm of Runic Protection costing almost no MP when hit awhile back and I nearly killed my rift run trying it out and losing almost all six bars at once

I started using lightbringer without 400% knight and I genuinely feel like my skill increased greatly after a while. Highly recommend a story run on lufenian with max dragon without a safe net like sentinel or runic because it feels so damn good and I barely got oneshot, but I was playing staff paladin so take that with a grain of salt. Runic can work extremely well but is fully dependant on your mp regen and maybe slotting in a few max hp dmg received % or near death dmg received % with 400 dark knight.
Also it gives 400% Knight so if you play in Extra Mode you're invincible. They needed to do that because while you can play the regular game and get the story on babby mode, all the DLC introduces new difficulty levels, that you need to play on.
>What is safe to dismantle?
Anything that isn't within 5 levels of the mission
You'll basically be hitting auto optimize every stage until you get to credits, then gear gets more longevity when you're using it for an entire difficulty at the same level
You can just spam auto-equip and dismantle the rest at the start of the game. Later on, when you start getting good affinity numbers on your gear, you can start actually making builds. By the time you start DLC 1, you should have a decent build going as thats what the game expects of you. If you are early dont bother yourself too much with build and just enjoy smacking things around
SoP is a prime "bell curve game" where you'll appreciate it if you're a low IQ caveman that just want smash Chaos or a high IQ kino connoisseur, but midlets will get hung up on it being "stupid"
>Implying Max is even at the level of skill where he knows that he can punish that
That homie started a round with suzuran against Slayer of all people, come the frick on
Clive is based but fricks around too much for Jack's no bullshit, to the point style. I don't think they'd necessarily be enemies but they wouldn't get along.
While Clive gets bogged down by everyone else's inane tasks they have for him, Jack would go straight to the source of the problem and start fricking shit up. Clive would still catch up with more than enough time to spare.
steam reviews seem to complain about stuttering, does that special k mod do the trick or is it still a problem?
also thanks to the anon in the steam sale thread suggesting i try the DQ9S demo to see if this game will run on my system

English , the man was a nobody dubber that has a very charming personality (mocean melvin)
Tough choice, honestly. On one hand, you have an all-serious man in a land of fantasy; but on the other, you have the over-the-topness of Kaiba

Grab some gear with affinity for a job you aren't using. Any jobs with even 1% affinity coming from gear get a little XP, like pokemon EXP Share.
Is sage still good in the postgame and DLCs? It's carrying me pretty hard but I doubt that postgame enemies will give me time to spam my spells.
Why do you refuse to learn the game my fren?
Because magic is cool
He is playing the game just fine if it works.
Sage is a class just like any other. Just because he inst melting everything as an optimized Dark Knight for his Nioh style webms doesn't mean something is wrong.
Melting is part of magic though
Only if you want it to be.
You can use easy mode and spam magic all you want
It's still functional. I feel like the damage falls off as it's significantly easier to buff physical damage, but I also didn't bother getting good magic gear in dlc3 and the power ceiling ends up so high I'm sure you can just nuke everything with anything anyway

SoP is a prime "bell curve game" where you'll appreciate it if you're a low IQ caveman that just want smash Chaos or a high IQ kino connoisseur, but midlets will get hung up on it being "stupid"
succinctly said, it is prime midwit filter.
I have no idea who you're talking about.
He was right
kek what a fraud
Is that the guy who got filtered by a village rank Khezu?
>badly-spaced, unsafe Slayer 2D.
>no punish
>Implying Max is even at the level of skill where he knows that he can punish that
That homie started a round with suzuran against Slayer of all people, come the frick on
Max is based
Based on what?
Does this dude even like anything Final Fantasy that isn't 7?
he was mad that Sephiroth wasn't in it.
Not a zoomie so I don't know or care.
imagine if jack, clive, and johnny endwalker all linked up
What about Butz?
Butz just wants to chill out and ride his chocobo and maybe frick a princes or two.
>tfw can't play these types of games because brain damage fricked up my reaction time.
Would him and Jack get along or be enemies
Clive is based but fricks around too much for Jack's no bullshit, to the point style. I don't think they'd necessarily be enemies but they wouldn't get along.
I DON'T GIVE A FRICK ABOUT YOUR BROTHER'S DEATH
While Clive gets bogged down by everyone else's inane tasks they have for him, Jack would go straight to the source of the problem and start fricking shit up.
Clive would still catch up with more than enough time to spare.
Jack would get along the best with the Master of Masters from Kingdom Hearts
chaos did nothing wrong.
The finale kino was off the charts
>Bare your soul to me!
>You asked for it! Just don't flinch from what you see!
Still need to grind more to start DLC 1
how is it a good game. not shitposting, generally interested since a lot of people have told me it is mediocre to shit
steam reviews seem to complain about stuttering, does that special k mod do the trick or is it still a problem?
also thanks to the anon in the steam sale thread suggesting i try the DQ9S demo to see if this game will run on my system
Chas saged called me a homosexual in my own thread and saged the post so it wouldn't bump.
>Der Peruaner is Chaos
