Yeah. A lot of people give it flak for the long-winded story but so far the Victorian chapters have been pretty good. Events range from a quick series of short stories to Lonetrail, which is a literal sci-fi novel in and of itself.
Gameplay is challenging and fun but relies very heavily on timing of skill triggers and micromanaging multiple sections of a board.
Gacha is average, not a collector game like Limbus, but not kill me tier like Dx2

I was enjoying it a fair bit but frick I just couldn't put up with the grind any longer. Shit was hellish for a new player and I wouldn't be suprised if its gotten woese in the year since then.
Which grind? Event or upgrade? Upgrade is nothing after a while but event grind is just irritating.
Just the daily grind for getting exp and materials to level up my units, though probably didn't help that I wasn't guidegayging or checking what was meta either.
I just have a really low tolerance for stuff being timegated and I only put up with it in limbus because of how much sheer love I have for PM.
For the first little while it's slow on exp and mats but after you upgrade your base it's a lot less of a pain in the ass for exp and lmd at least. Events give out an assload of mats.
Guidegay some stuff though. It's possible to use 3* and under for most stages like Challenge Mode stage 8 clears but incredibly finicky and not worth it unless you're a giga autist. Most 6*s are generally carry tier stuff but I'm not sure if your favorites happened to be trash like Beehunter or the gamer octopus.

Ish is pretty different from the book ishmael but that's because book ishmael was barely a character by the latter half. From what little we've seen I still think her chapter will be similar to the source material thametically with stuff like a pointless hunt for revenge.
I think it would be genuine ludokino if we spend the entire chapter hunting finding out about how Ishmael is seething about Ahab and spent all this time hunting him down only for it to turn out that the bastard really was dead and it was all for nothing.
