I only played park patrol and I actually enjoyed it a lot, people saying it's garbage compared to the original gets me excited to play it
I played it and it's bretty good but definitely overrated. The characters are soul though

The only true sequel is the japan only DS one. The fan translation calls it Clean Sweep but that's not really close to a literal translation.
Park patrol is next closest but it's only OK at best, and the rest of the series is better forgotten.

I love both, and the gameplay for these games are different
if it was just 'banjo kazooie, but it takes place in a giant house' I would love it, but I can't even really give it that.
its just this weird halfway between a 3D platforming collectathon and a point and click game where it doesn't do either really well, and I appreciate that it exists, but mostly in spite of its gameplay
mr mosquito and ka 2 basically take the little thing in normal house to a much more enjoyable level.

I think the thing that stood out to me was when one of the producers was talking to Iwata or somebody about Zip-Lash, might've been Tanabe, and he mentioned that chibi-robo was supposed to appeal to kids, which is why it never revisited the relatively serious topics of the first game.
And all I could think was the original Chibi Robo came out 10 years prior, what kids in 2015 even know what chibi robo is?
I think the real problem was that the games never sold so they had to work with less and less budget.

I have this sitting in my room unopened except for the original box since I wanted the amiibo. But the game is still wrapped. Found like 6 boxes for $5 like 4 months ago and picked up 2 of them.

A English translation of 2 and 2+Park Patrol with non fricked up moron touch screen only DS era controls upscaled to 1080p would be kino.
