Tieflings haven't been mostly evil for nearly a decade.
i just cleaned out the inn with astarion, shadowheart and minthara, the only reaction they got is when i agreed to kidnap isobel and they were all agreeing to that.
after the whole massacre, only shadowheart had a dialogue choice about what you did, astarion and minthara had nothing.
there's so much reactions to what you do around i find it weird the last light inn massacre got me nothing of sort
I showed up and just wandered around which triggered the kidnapping somehow and everyone died. Later the bad guys thought I had agreed to kidnap Isobel. It was the only part that felt like the game completely broke.
It's borked. If you side with Marcus but purposefully kill Isobel (I nuked her, she turned to ash), you still get the cutscene like she was knocked out, and it doesn't count for the dark urge kill.
I used the exact same comp when I massacred the inn but I killed isobel and got dialogue from Minthara and Astarion. My favourite is Astarion because he pretty much just calls you a madlad
It has to be a bug. There's no way the multiclaw attack does 1 damage for each hit for it intended use. Especially when compared to the single strike version. At the very least, the form is super useful for spellcaster Dyrges
It's just because you no longer benefit from your gear when you transform. There's a mod that lets you retain that and the Slayer rips ass when you have it installed.
Slayer form is utter trash, it does less damage than normal weapon. I had never used it and canceled it instantly in a fight with oryn.

They're about as consistent with their approvals/disapprovals as Liara is when you try and romance her throughout the Mass Effect trilogy. Utterly bipolar at best. gnoll encounter can be tough if you get there on lvl 3 or 4. it's probably the hardest encounter in the first act because it's easy to go there when you're not supposed to and it's thrust upon you rather unexpectedly

Go into stealth and turn-based mode, everyone gets two free attacks. Approach battles from different angles. What starts out as seemingly impossible can turn to trivially easy, and wanting to up the difficulty. Also, take on one opponent at a time, someone who deals massive damage still deals massive damage with one hit point.
I never play games on "hard" mode becuse it is always the same, you suffer A LOT in the beginning, and 2 hours later it doesn't matter because you have enough resources to finish the game.

I also assumed playing on Tactician would make short rest vs long rest management matter, so I did the same tactic of cycling through companions. Ended up with an obscene amount of camp supplies, especially once I got access to Hero’s Feast. I do think the amount of supplies used for long rest needs to be higher, at least on Tactician. It’s far too easy to mindlessly long rest spam unless you’re doing one of the few times quests.

That's clerics for ya.
Unless you're playing a cleric yourself I suggest letting Shadowheart play healer at first; have her prepare all her healing and support skills and keep you under Bless in the meantime. For some reason she has terrible attack rolls, something you'll really feel if you play Tactician, so she's not good at hitting things until you reach Lv.6 or 7 or whenever it is you get a Lv.3 spell slot, at which point you can learn Spirit Guardians and turn her into a beacon of damage that will kill most of anything just by standing near them.
This is why you get her to speak to Withers ASAP, and her readjust her secondary stat. Buff up her strength so she can use spears better. Changing up classes is there for a reason. You don't even need to change her into something else if you care about breaking lore. Just readjust her starting points.

It's arguably the domain most thematic to Shar but yeah it's kinda bad for gameified tabletop rules and especially so for a companion character.
I just set her to 8/16/14/10/17/8 and gave her a magic heavy crossbow and shortsword. Been working out great, especially since unlike normal 5e crossbows don't have the loading property so she can use War Priest all she likes with it.

Best way I can put it is: No, you aren't doing anything wrong, your level 2/3 rogue or fighter or barbarian really does have basically no options and will miss all the time.
Use all of the tools you find constantly, give scrolls to anybody remotely magical, e.g shadowheart so she can do damage during moments she doesn't have to be healing. Also spell slots are essential to understand, those blue squares determines how many spells of each tier you can cast. So if you have 4 slots you can waste it all on guiding light or w.e the beam spell is that misses 100 % of the time, or just save them for heals that never miss at all!

i just cleaned out the inn with astarion, shadowheart and minthara, the only reaction they got is when i agreed to kidnap isobel and they were all agreeing to that.
after the whole massacre, only shadowheart had a dialogue choice about what you did, astarion and minthara had nothing.
there's so much reactions to what you do around i find it weird the last light inn massacre got me nothing of sort
I showed up and just wandered around which triggered the kidnapping somehow and everyone died. Later the bad guys thought I had agreed to kidnap Isobel. It was the only part that felt like the game completely broke.
It's borked. If you side with Marcus but purposefully kill Isobel (I nuked her, she turned to ash), you still get the cutscene like she was knocked out, and it doesn't count for the dark urge kill.

It has to be a bug. There's no way the multiclaw attack does 1 damage for each hit for it intended use. Especially when compared to the single strike version. At the very least, the form is super useful for spellcaster Dyrges
Slayer form is utter trash, it does less damage than normal weapon. I had never used it and canceled it instantly in a fight with oryn.

These show offs always fail to mention that the game gets much easier after level 5. With the exception of a couple bullshit fights in Act 2 and 3 where you're severely outnumbered and the enemies can teleport with ease, the game is fairly straightforward.
Go into stealth and turn-based mode, everyone gets two free attacks. Approach battles from different angles. What starts out as seemingly impossible can turn to trivially easy, and wanting to up the difficulty. Also, take on one opponent at a time, someone who deals massive damage still deals massive damage with one hit point.
I never play games on "hard" mode becuse it is always the same, you suffer A LOT in the beginning, and 2 hours later it doesn't matter because you have enough resources to finish the game.
tactician literally adds a modifier to make rolls fail and you need more supplies to rest but thats it

Interesting. See I thought there was a timer on the game since stuff quests can end or characters die because you travelled to camp, even if you didn't sleep. So I spent most of it in haste, doing as much as I could before ending the day. Later on I realized I had missed certain camp scenes because I was moving this quickly.

I also assumed playing on Tactician would make short rest vs long rest management matter, so I did the same tactic of cycling through companions. Ended up with an obscene amount of camp supplies, especially once I got access to Hero’s Feast. I do think the amount of supplies used for long rest needs to be higher, at least on Tactician. It’s far too easy to mindlessly long rest spam unless you’re doing one of the few times quests.

As Dark Urge I initially welcomed his transformation. I mean, I'm a Slayer Paladin so by power ranking my Tav is a motherfricker. But once Astarion began breaking down the scope of his plans I felt like I had made a terrible mistake.

Just started playing. Shadowheart starts with 5 billion skills while the others just have weapon skills and like 2 or 3 class skills. Which should I be using?
Also can I roll with pretty much whatever party I want? I know in DOS2, too many spells cancel the others. Seems like elemental shit is a lot less important here.

Just play and learn as you go, pick any of the companions that you like and play on easy if you have to while you learn the systems.

Unless you're playing a cleric yourself I suggest letting Shadowheart play healer at first; have her prepare all her healing and support skills and keep you under Bless in the meantime. For some reason she has terrible attack rolls, something you'll really feel if you play Tactician, so she's not good at hitting things until you reach Lv.6 or 7 or whenever it is you get a Lv.3 spell slot, at which point you can learn Spirit Guardians and turn her into a beacon of damage that will kill most of anything just by standing near them.
She has terrible attack rolls because she has a 12/12 STR/DEX split. WIS is her only reasonably specced default ability score at 17.
This is why you get her to speak to Withers ASAP, and her readjust her secondary stat. Buff up her strength so she can use spears better. Changing up classes is there for a reason. You don't even need to change her into something else if you care about breaking lore. Just readjust her starting points.
That's precisely what I did but I also changed her to War because all of the roleplaying shenanigans of Trickery are worthless in a video game.
I honestly don't get why they made Shadowheart Trickery when half of the abilities are clearly meant for the player character

You can change her into the much more useful for a support party member Life or Knowledge domains later while also keeping it lore accurate.
It's arguably the domain most thematic to Shar but yeah it's kinda bad for gameified tabletop rules and especially so for a companion character.
I just set her to 8/16/14/10/17/8 and gave her a magic heavy crossbow and shortsword. Been working out great, especially since unlike normal 5e crossbows don't have the loading property so she can use War Priest all she likes with it.
She's specced for her old life, you're supposed to use withers, he's not handwaved away as if he's not really reshaping your entire being. He's the main character.

Best way I can put it is: No, you aren't doing anything wrong, your level 2/3 rogue or fighter or barbarian really does have basically no options and will miss all the time.
Use all of the tools you find constantly, give scrolls to anybody remotely magical, e.g shadowheart so she can do damage during moments she doesn't have to be healing. Also spell slots are essential to understand, those blue squares determines how many spells of each tier you can cast. So if you have 4 slots you can waste it all on guiding light or w.e the beam spell is that misses 100 % of the time, or just save them for heals that never miss at all!
