Blood + Haste/Blood + Rage kinda ensures you're not going to die anytime soon, and in most games the only real lose state is losing HP making that trivial as a result. Otherwise Frost + Drain/Frost + Curse ensures all something can do is swing very slowly at you if at that, Ethereal + Ghost/Haste/Diamond/Fire for your flavor of pure DPS, and Haste + Death for high roller. Also if Death procs on any source of damage, Death + Thunder is a valid option.

i'm pretty sure thunder only has a chance to proc if you actually hit an enemy, and even if it can proc any time you swing, your strategy would only have 37% the dps of an unenchanted sword.

thunder hits a different enemy from the one you hit and only has a 50% chance to activate.

Games are usually pretty badly designed so that fire ends up always beign the best answer. Dealing more damage means you kill mobs faster means they deal less damage to you so attack becomes the best defensive stat and devs fail to actually take time to design game mechanics that would twist that time to time. you can't choose the same enchantment twice, and that isn't how that works. it would be 225% damage. which is the dps you get by combining any of fire/diamond/haste/ghost.

fire's description says it deals 150% weapon damage, so if you had two of them that would be 150% x 150% which is 225%. still really good, and easily way better than something like thunder + spikes, but not triple damage.

not sure if i just read it wrong but doesn't fire deal an additional 150% damage of weapon damage, not increase damage to 150%?
so a 10 damage sword would be dealing
10 + (10*1.5) = 25 damage
meanwhile a 10 damage rage sword at it's best (user at 1 hp) would be dealing
10 + (10*.9999) = 19.99 damage
either way, 15 or 25, + crit, is the crit going to just be 20? because that would be shit, but if it was 30, or 50, it's easily the best, and that's every other goddamn hit, no game gives crit that good lmao

i'm inclined to believe that fire deals 50% more damage than default. besides, if it really was more than doubleing the base damage of the sword, it wouldn't just strictly outclass demon, but also diamond, haste, ghost, rage, and pretty much all of them.
Fire and diamond. Both of those combined should on average increase the damage output of the base sword by 125%.

frost drain is better. halving movement pretty much makes it impossible for the enemy to get within melee range, so halving melee damage is a moot point, especially when frost already also halves attack speed. deleting half the enemy's mana is more important than halving their melee dps a second time. especially when as stated earlier, they're never going to be abke to get within melee range unless you let them.

lets say that the base sword can be swung 4 times in as many seconds, and deals 10 damage. a fire diamond sword, (assuming it crits every other hit) would deal 15 * 2 + 30 * 2 = 90 damage in 4 seconds. a fire haste sword can be swung 6 times in four seconds, so it would deal 15 * 6 = 90 damage in 4 seconds. a fire ghost sword will deal 15 * 4 + 7.5 * 4 = 90 damage in 4 seconds. a diamond haste sword, assuming standard odds will crit 3 times for 10 * 3 + 20 * 3 = 90 damage in 4 seconds. a diamond ghost sword will crit twice, with each crit ghost hit also getting buffed by the crit, for 10 + 5 + 20 + 10 + 10 + 5 + 20 10 = 90 damage in 4 seconds. the haste ghost sword will get the most hits in, but will also be the weakest each hit, for a total of 10 * 6 + 5 * 6 = 90 damage in 4 seconds. from this we can conclude that all four of fire, diamond, haste, and ghost, increase the sword's dps by the exact same ammount, and any combination of the four of them will be exactly as strong as any other.

demon's modifier is based the enemy's hp percent, not actual hp. for the first half of its healthbar it's better than fure/diamond/haste/ghost, and for the second half it's worse. funnily enough, i'm pretty sure than if an enemy has enough hp it's overall dps with be exactly the same as the four afformentioned enchantments. although against low hp enemies it is straight up better. so i guess overall demon is a straight upgrade to those four?
