Post your go-to party in Chrono Trigger. Mine was:
>Chrono
>Lucca
>Robo
Very basic, i know. Basically i used Chrono as a balanced option, Robo as a tank and healer, and Lucca for the fire magic and the combined attacks as a way to get deal a lot of damage in one turn
Frog Ayla Crono tbh
Oh, i also used Frog a lot instead of Lucca. I can't recall which one did i use more often. That said, Chrono and Robo had their spots secured no matter what
it usually involves magus. i only ever hear people talk shit on him in terms of building a battle party but i tend to value whichever characters in jrpgs most lazily take care of random encounters with all-spells
>Chrono
>Marle
>Ayla/Robo/Magus
The Auto-Raise Triple Tech with Robo is great, but he's too slow, and I give all the Tabs to Chrono. Magus is who ends up in the party at the end. Alya, to Charm some items.
>but he's too slow
He's not all that when it comes to damage output outside of combined techniques. He's worth a lot more when equipped with the accesory for extra max life (was it a ring? idk)
>65m BC
>Ayla Marle
>Magus Ayla
>600
>Marle Frog Magus
>1000
>Lucca Marle
>2300
>Lucca Robo
Reminder that you're a chump if you're not using Marle in Magus's Castle. Ice Water is early cheap screen wipes.
what happens if you give robo all the speed tabs? is it pointless? can you make him a zoom bot?
I don't have his base stats in front of me, but i'd guess he still would be slower than other party members. Also take into account that speed tabs are found throughout the story and not all at once
Robo is basically the only tanky character, if you want to go full offense it may be wiser to improve the others' defensive capabilities
Chrono, Frog, Magus because they're the coolest
I always used to use Crono, Frog and Robo because this party had access to an easy full heal dual tech.
i dunno... i just go with whatever party appeals to me at the time. i feel like there's no point in trying to min max too much in ct because once you have all the best equipment the game is a cakewalk.
Crono, Ayla and Robo.
Though I would switch them up whenever a character leveled up, so I ended using all characters equally.

underrated comment
>magus
>not killing that punk b***h as soon as you get the chance
Died like a b***h to a talking frog and a couple girls lmao
wait, you can kill Magus?
I fail to believe people didn't kill Magus on 1st playthrough.
I genuinely didn't know. He just joined my party
Crono Magus Robo
Or sometimes Lucca instead of Crono but usually Crono
My first playthrough I went Crono, Lucca and Frog
On my second playthrough I read some guides on gamefaqs and experimented with Crono, Robo and Ayla, and give all magic tabs to Robo: by the late game his heal beam was healing everyone for 300hp and you basically can't die
Chrono, Marle, Frog
Crono, Marle, Lucca. They're who the story began with and who I always have it end with when fighting Lavos.
Chrono, Robo and Ayla. Strongest team in the game hands down. Each character is a monster on their own. Strong double techs when they're relevant, and even stronger single techs for endgame. Plus, you've got stealing covered with Ayla and healing covered with robo. And on top of that, the irony of pairing a super future robot with a prehistoric cavewoman.
