Casual modes don't exist, every "casual" queue in a 'competitive game' is actually just comp light to 70% of the community, including the devs within 3 months. Thus the game is unplayable if you don't want to be beholden to their rules

So I asked the table "does anyone have an answer to this?" and everyone said no, so I scooped, picking up my cards. The guy got pissy and passive-aggressively angry at me for weeks afterwards because I didn't want to sit there and let him play his fricking half-hour combo out.

Moreover, it's not even true. If you look at the people who are at the top of the ladder in almost any game, you will see that their winrate is much higher than 50% because they're better than almost anyone else.

For how much I do complain about Halo. Halo 3 has one of the better match making systems that can pair higher skilled players with lower skilled players for a fair and balanced multiplayer experience without top ranked players being stuck 10 minutes in que for a game. For 1v1 games, it is harder to balance, but you don't need to have the skill levels between 2 players effectively be the same. It's okay to mix in some asymmetrical matches so lower ranked players can try to improve.

good players have a high MMR bad low MMR. you will reach the 50% win plateau thats when you quite when your MMR is at your own skill level thats when you quit and commit sudoku
depends on matchmaking and it will never match you well just cause it prioritizes quicker match finding over being accurate
you will be tanking and losing way more than 50% if you are a shitter
and almost everyone below average MMR has negative winrate

For how much I do complain about Halo. Halo 3 has one of the better match making systems that can pair higher skilled players with lower skilled players for a fair and balanced multiplayer experience without top ranked players being stuck 10 minutes in que for a game. For 1v1 games, it is harder to balance, but you don't need to have the skill levels between 2 players effectively be the same. It's okay to mix in some asymmetrical matches so lower ranked players can try to improve.
