CK2 Mods

I never played the game with big mods, is HIP actually good?
Because I read that it totally kills your levies, which seems moronic.

Also, what are some fun starting locations?

too much trouble to install tbh

        Anonymous

        it really isn't
the installation process is just pressing enter like 12 times

i last played HIP like 4 years ago and there was an awful bug where it'd randomly switch your crown authority every few months, and they told me it was more or less unfixable
if they haven't yet fixed that then i honestly wouldn't recommend HIP

That sounds awful, did they say what caused it?

i like a lot of small mods, they probably wouldn't all work with HIP
sell me on it tho, what's so great about it?

      >HIP is good
      >You can be an empire sized kingdom and you have no problems at all
      >Press the button to switch your countries name
      >Get fricked by arbitrary modifiers
      nah.

Any of you remember how to install the custom portraits from HIP if the installer doesn't detect the dlc?

Copy the game folder to steamappscommon and install the mod. You can delete the folder after it's done installing.

Anyone else having a bug where your court physician doesn't treat your family? He'll give them treatment for the symptoms, but not for the disease itself. Been going around like a mad man trying to figure out how to fix that shit

Going to ask here instead of making a new thread just for this question. Hopefully someone sees this.

I have been searching for a song that played during my Crusader Kings 2 games. I don't know the name and vaguely remember the lyrics. It was a metal song in English with the dude singing about how he has the right to rule because he has divine blood or something like that.

Can anyone help me find it? I've been searching youtube and google for almost 2 hours now and cant find it. Closest I could get was how vocalist of Powerwolf sounds similar, but I couldn't find the song in question while going through their albums.

It sounds like Saberton's Carolus Rex. Although I only know it from EU4: https://youtu.be/nxwv8-oAasI?si=f1ByFXSA26tsNvFK

Oh shit dude! That's the one! Thanks anon!

I think CK and EU share a few songs so that might be why.

What do you think about demense and vassal limit settings?
I set them both on half, but they seem to harm smaller duchies more, the empires/kingdoms have giant limits.

Just play it dude. I never care about those things

If you want to cuck kingdom/empires go to commondefines.lua and ctrl+f DEMESNE_BASE_MAX_SIZE
There you can change demense multipliers on a title level, vassals are just underneath it too.

          HIP is basically "hard" mode.
          >murders the rate your levies replenish and makes retinues both lower in quantity and absurdly expensive
          >levy penalty on succession means your realm will immediately die to faction revolts unless you have a shit ton of +opinion on your new ruler
          >basically removes the "invite guy with duchy/kingdom claim, give him a barony, then press his claim" fast expansion since they won't be your vassal unless they're your dynast
          >requires same culture for bloodlines to work
          >holy war cooldown, but it's a game rule
          >broke up D.Flanders because frick you
It's great and worth playing over vanilla if you're bored there though, feels very fresh when you try it out. The piss map is very love it or hate it though.

The map looks way better than vanilla with the map mod, how is it piss?

How do I get HIP to install CPR+ ?It just tells me that it can't find my game folder.

Just use BLG. Cpr+ is objectively worse: blurry portrait, buggy and less clothes, no mixed ethnicitiy portraits, no special features like pet in portrait, or diseases

I hate jade dragon china.90% of the content is pure fiction and even if you turn off everything but adventurers the AI still finds a way to create a tributary that could have existed in real life. And they are somehow able to teleport troops to the western protectorate even though the sole reason it existed and had it’s own army was their inability to quickly send their own troops. They are are attrition free as well despite having 1000+mile long supply chains and the real life dynasties that actually did send troops to the regions on ck2s map usually losing most of their army from attrition and desertion. This entire dlc was designed by some moron that knew nothing about china. And there aren’t even any mods that fix it.

China just exists to give middle easterners bonuses which I like because it makes removing kebabs more fun and challenging

Why do people hate Imperial Elective so much? It‘s great and essentially a free meritocracy with the added bonus of being able to pick more distant relatives. And the better the heir is the more likely the ai will vote for them. And even if they aren’t it’s still possible to just reduce the amount of electors.

      Anonymous

It is a chore compared to other election styles like Eldership or Princely elective and lacks the security of something like tanistry. You can manipulate it but it takes more effort.
Electing distant relatives can also make it harder to consolidate or maintain bloodlines.

Has a ton of content but it will run like ass unless you have a good CPU and use performance submods that disable parts of the world.

so is it the best mod?

          Anonymous

One of the best? Yes. The best? Not yet. Some regions could use more work more unique flavor and mechanics. Modders are slowly working on it. Huge world, beyond what ck2 was designed to handle, makes it hard to play long campaigns and the mod is set three hundred years before Magnus the Pious and five hundred years before Karl Franz and "modern" Warhammer.

Ah, I just wondered what to play, since the GOT mod also looked cool.

Both are fun, but in the different ways. AGOT is way more focused on characters and internal politics of the Seven Kingdoms, while Warhammer is about great magic and great conflicts, especially central Chaos vs Order, but other factions also mess around, for example, Vampire Wars hit Imperial Pretenders hard and Orcs often build mighty, but short-lived, empires.

Tried it a week ago.First event I got was the wife of my character showing me her lover. The three options were
      >Indifference
      >Support
      >Saying that you dislike him.
No imprisonment,no divorce and it didn't even count as a reason to divorce her manually.
I knew it was bad when I read the mod description but it still managed to be worse than I tought.

Has a ton of content but it will run like ass unless you have a good CPU and use performance submods that disable parts of the world.

Yeah but at least it doesn't crash as much as AGOT or get constant save corruptions.I have no idea how that mod got so popular, it was made by complete morons.

I only played it with the "Bye far east" submod and the game became much faster and more stable. Seems like Yi-Ti screws up a lot of things.

My favorire mod is "When the world stopped making sence" you should try it

sadly the map is completely moronic and ugly.

Ah, I just wondered what to play, since the GOT mod also looked cool.

try all the big mods and stick with the ones, that are fun to you. You will also start to hate vanilla and every other paradox vanilla game.

is that event tied to a certain species/culture or something? I would simply not play as that species or culture and slaughter them as much as possible if so
