It's depends what you want.
If you want a finely balanced gamey game, where everything is about game feel and carefully balanced combat encounters and a linear progression curve and all the other stuff that Japs tend to excel at, then it's not for you.
If you want a game that combines the historicism of Mafia or Hidden and Dangerous with the light-simulation of Operation Flashpoint, you're in luck because Warhorse is made up of developers from Bohemia Interactive and Illusion so that's what you're going to get.
It's in my top five games ever and two of my others are Morrowind and (summoning *him* to the thread) New Vegas so that should give you some indication.
Its eurojank. Which means its a masterpiece if you're able to appreciate it for what it does well while tolerating the jank.

I love it. The save feature is pretty moronic and the combat has its issues, but the setting and story more than make up for it. Getting the ultimate edition for $8 on steam right now is a steal.
If you like Skyrim or Morrowind, even the witcher 3, you will like this game. It is more "hardcore", a medieval simulator of sorts, with brutal, unforgiving combat; you can only fight about 3 people at one time, if your armor is good enough that is. If you fight on your horse you can do better.
Story is really fricking good in this game, so are its characters, the dialogue and the sense of progression. You certainly feel a lot more powerful at the end of the game when you have full plate armor and a high quality longsword; you can frick up 3-5 people with worse armor pretty easily, compare to getting overwhelmed by more than 1 in the beginning.
The combat is a bit janky, but once you get the hang of it it can get quite fun: you will use combos, master strike (it is when you block offensively) and feinted strikes so that you get people down rather quickly with a good weapon.
Survival system is a bit surface level, with it amounting to a few meters to fill — I truly hope that they expand this aspect of the game in the second iteration.
World is beautiful, music is beautiful and the cherry on the cake is that you can cuck an old guy in this game.
If you do end up getting immersed in the game, I would recommend you to train your sword skills with Captain Bernard, or any other weapon you wish, until you reach around level 20 — you can enter a free sparing mode, where you will simply level up for fighting against him.

Solid medieval RPG. Extremely immersive, very pretty. Story's alright-to-alright. Combat is very strange and takes some getting used to, and falls kinda flat in some situations. It's definitely one of a kind and probably worthy of your interest if you have better patience than the average tiktok-addicted zoomer.

i enjoyed it but i couldn't keep going, too much simulation for me and it's not like it was preventing me from completing the game or anything it was some mechanics bothering me like constantly having to bathe and other shit, i don't think i needed to do it all the time but i didn't like it showing up as well as some other stuff

its a good game. Sleep at a bed to save. You start out weak as frick and become godlike. most quests are like 7/10, a few are 10/10 and 1 or 2 are 3/10. You can radically change your play through depending on what choices you make. The writing is honestly enjoyable

You see, in real life, when you fight someone, the best strategy is to look at your feet and spin around really fast as your opponents play musical chair to figure where they're supposed to be standing to fight you.
This happened to me yesterday. I was pretty bummed. I ended up crafting like 20 savior schnapps before making the long journey again. Second time I came across this pagan looking statue in the woods surrounded by fly agaric on the edge of the map

Yeah, one was a savior schnapps and I don't remember what the other was. There was also one behind the statue
Wait, there's another one of those? I distinctly remember finding one in the 'deep' woods somewhere by the northwest corner of the map. I thought it was the coolest little easter egg. And I'll never forget, because on the way back I got stuck inside a tree cluster and spent 20 mins trying to wriggle out of it, since my latest save was over an hour ago kek.
I've seen other statues that looked like this one, but this is the only one I've found that had a clearing around it with all the shrooms
