WITH NO CHANGES WHATSOEVER IM S DAMN EXCITED IT'S GOING TO BE DIFFERENT THIS TIME AND IT WONT SHUT DOWN IN 3 MONTHS RIGHT?????
Part of me will always miss it no matter what because it was a pretty integral part of my youth. But man it's done, all of the people who made it are gone on to other things, and the ones left in charge have no idea what they are doing.
I breathed the copium up until the Dragonflight reveal. First patch of BfA drove me away from subbing, and SL kept me away. DF really drove the dagger in that WoW is never coming back, for me. I am glad I had WoW, I got to play it when video games were pariah-markers and when it was mainstream. I got to grind content, RP, hit max level and raid, and get mounts both terrestrial and aerial.
Why are they pushing this game so hard recently? Is it unironically worth trying? I keep getting ads everywhere for the revamped newcomer experience or whatever.
Unless you can hop in a time machine back to 2004-2008 or so, no. It's absolute garbage today.
Damn is it that bad? Thought about giving the trial a go.
It's seriously not that bad. It's one of the most developed games in existence. It lost basically all of it's soul along the way... but lets be honest, it's not that bad. People who say it's awful are people who played back in the day. But if you've never played it then it is absolutely worth trying. First time playing WoW is a really fun experience that you'll thoroughly enjoy. The rest of us are just sad that we'll never experience that first journey again.
I don't think a lot of people read quest text when it was new. Leveling is some 100 hours of repetitive, limited gameplay. Professions are seeming irrelevant; and max level content for defining the character and world is small.
I'll do what I always do >new PS releases >rush rogue or druid to level 35 for gnomish engineering >get death ray, MC cap, rocket helm >kill people in STV for a week >uninstall
I hate WoW, I want warcraft 3 custom games back, back before DOTA destroyed everything. That was probably the death of gaming for me, when all the creative unique games got swarmed by endless sweaty dota games.
Classic WoW was great for the first month or two until you realize the worst part of WoW is and has always been other players.
Tryharding neckbeards requiring you to minmax world buffs, optimize all your gear, denying you from groups for not playing the right class, all whilst the bosses can be beaten by anyone with half a brain. The community really just minmax the fun out of the game.
Private servers were literally full of sweatgays who made the game horrible, especially pvp servers, whatever the dominant faction was just hypercamped every dungeon entrance so you had to suicide 5 times to get to dire maul or brd
>dominant faction
wasnt even a major thing to consider on most servers as most of them were well balanced. even 30/70 would be considered unplayable but classic players are somehow fine with 100/0
>Classic WoW was great for the first month or two until you realize the worst part of WoW is and has always been other players.
The worst part is that you don't want to do the same thing over and again. I want to meet people and flirt, but it's not some social experience going from npcs to nearby mobs to NPCs to caves, etc., for 1 or 2 quests at a time.
>play during its prime >miss the days people didn't know what the frick they were doing and just enjoyed themselves >play countless vanilla private servers until their inevitable shutdoown >most players there were just doing it for fun and not sweatiness >jump at the chance to play WoW Classic >first month or so feels just like Home >then begin to notice playerbase feels different >finding it much harder to run dungeons because more and more people are just spamming buying/selling boosts >join a guild for raids >they want you to get every single world-buff in the game and spend a fortune on items >raids were designed to be completed by 40 clueless chucklefricks on toasters with dial-up internet >modern players have actually managed to optimise the fun out of the game
>modern players have actually managed to optimise the fun out of the game
this
poopsocking morons were the beginning of the end
i guess i found a happy medium in vanilla, an endgame raiding guild that put health and real lives first, and we were still ranked in the top 50 EU
horde ftw btw, i miss the actual rivalry too
>literally never have problems running dungeons despite having to report 20 spammers to clean up the lfg channel
What the frick are you guys doing wrong?
I loved leveling and getting pre raid BiS back when classic era was the only classic server but after that the game takes a nosedive for me. I get the urge still to level a new character on classic era purely out of nostalgia but the servers are effectively dead and Everlook will just be more private server drama filled shit.
They should really just merge all the servers into 1-2 at this point.
>They should really just merge all the servers into 1-2 at this point.
the servers can't handle that. Server performance in a 40man Alterac Valley is many times worse now than it was in 2005, because they completely fricked the game systems, to a point where you get massive lag if more than 20 people are in the same instance/shard at the same time.
>resubscribe after 2 years >hit massive 500 foot wall of unintuitive systems that I need to grind daily in order to remotely catch up. >only explanation of systems come from toxic, angsty whales on reddit who are somehow insulted that you're not being cannon fodder for them in battlegrounds, with 10x your damage and hp because they played every day since release >blizzard completely obliterated the economy by selling gold, so to buy the legendary item you need, you need to pay tens or hundreds of thousands of gold, that you can only realistically get by also buying gold
FRICK YOU. I refuse to watch as you rape the Night Elves even further. And don't get me started on your moronic stories and plots. I want to live in a reality where WarCraft IV is a thing and has absolutely no connections to WoW.
Everlook.
needs to launch NOW NOW NOW
I'm waiting for fresh Atlantiss TBC so I can play with my old guild. if it flops probably won't touch WoW again

Only way I'd play WoW again is if I could time travel back to 2004
stay dead
Only if you give me a time machine
Part of me will always miss it no matter what because it was a pretty integral part of my youth. But man it's done, all of the people who made it are gone on to other things, and the ones left in charge have no idea what they are doing.
Give me the instanced content and gameplay of early Cata with the open structure and social dynamics of vanilla and I'll play again.
I'm free of wow now anon, I refuse to ever return
i will never give this company a single dime again

Turtle WoW has been fun with their little additions
Currently leveling an Arms Warrior on there. The struggle is real, but it's just so good.
>scuffed private server
>little to no pvp
>pvpgay
>is moronic
if you arent play for wow pvp you are an actual moron
>wants mmo pvp
play a game with good gameplay instead

Play something else you spastic, WoW is dead because the people who made it what it was are long gone.
if i never want to engage with grinding/raiding/dungeons but love architecture, can I just walz through every zone and expansions like its nothing?
>the most developed games in existence
huh?
I don't think a lot of people read quest text when it was new. Leveling is some 100 hours of repetitive, limited gameplay. Professions are seeming irrelevant; and max level content for defining the character and world is small.
newsflash: if it's not run by sweaty balding male nerds of the white or asian persuasion then it's going to be FRICKING SHIT. end of

Such a shame
i wish i enjoyed playing the same game over and over again

Solved meta is the Achilles heel of classic MMO servers
it was 90% solved on private servers yet no one acted like retailBlack folk who play classic act today. wish we just stayed on private servers forever
Likely cause private servers draw in people who actually want to play for fun, while the official is the same retail tryhards
Private servers were literally full of sweatgays who made the game horrible, especially pvp servers, whatever the dominant faction was just hypercamped every dungeon entrance so you had to suicide 5 times to get to dire maul or brd
literally the same on classic except full of cancer
>melee/spellcleave
>boosting runs
>world buff meta
>dominant faction
wasnt even a major thing to consider on most servers as most of them were well balanced. even 30/70 would be considered unplayable but classic players are somehow fine with 100/0
In classic you can leave your server for another one, in private servers you’re mostly stuck where you are.
if you fork over money to Bobbo for such a service of course :^)
Endgame is trash no matter which expansion you play. Leveling on an active pvp server is the only way to have fun.
Purging players buffs as a shaman at raid entrances was hilarious

no, i dont think i will
