How in the FRICK do you get an S rank on the 'destroy transport helicopters' mission in chapter 1? I'm assault boosting, firing missiles, turning before it's even destroyed and boosting to the next one etc, probably takes me like 45 seconds and it's still not enough. Do I really have to make sure I'm not getting hit at all? I only lost about 100 AP on that last attempt
It's optional, I got S without even touching it. Remember that apart from the repair costs and time, you're also getting scored on ammo, are you sure you're no doing some huge overkill and destroying the choppers with some really expensive shit? Maybe melee one or two of the copters to save up on ammunition.
If you're as fast as possible then you're probably really close to hitting that S rank, it's possible saving up some dollars on ammo costs could bring you over.

I’m not that anon I’m saying that’s how I got S rank. Just shoot the helicopters and run past everything

I don't think so? I'm using 2x vertical 8 pack missiles only, as I can fire and move on, but perhaps it's slightly overkill for those enemies and I can try something else. I'll try and get a clean damageless run and if that fails, I'll just continue doing chapter 3 missions and come back to it later
Okay I finally fricking did it. It seems those missions with the bonus money on killing enemies actually helps with S ranks, so I basically going too fricking fast. I killed about 10-15 small enemies with low ammo cost weapons, took twice as long and even had about 2000 AP damage and still got the S rank.
The aliens asspull was shit and you know it. The first 2/3s of the series was decent enough until they pulled that. The /very/ end was decent and had a nice message of hope.
>The aliens asspull was shit and you know it.
the aliens were fine, anyone who went into what was basically a Gainax anime without expecting them to go to space should neck themselves, if you want le 10,000 times folded multithreaded war plot go watch fricking LotGH

really feels like they break lockon basically every time, but you are right in that I should just change my build to max stam and boosters if I plan on using close range weapons
just annoying that it feels like some of the bosses are purpose built for some pretty basic builds that the game just waves right in your face, like giving you the reverse joint tutorial right before that tank boss on the wall
Not that anon but the last third of Franxx was so bad that I stopped watching Trigger for years.

Trigger wasn't even involved with Franxx past like ep8, the script was some old shit Nishigori had sitting around for like 20+ years and you can absolutely tell. The seethe was and is truly palpable, none of you frickers would've survived the 90s.

I'm just making the point that not only did you not even know it wasn't a Trigger show (so you very obviously have preexisting bias in terms of the actual studios involved, let us not play pretend) but that storytelling convention, particularly for the mecha genre, was massively different around the time of Nadia and Martian Successor. Franxx isn't even an isolated incident either, Bones had the exact same issue with Star Driver and Eureka Seven. It's the baggage that comes with hiring the frickers who can actually still animate hand-drawn mecha, they all grew up on and were trained by a completely different type of anime.
Watch War in the Pocket to see if you're interested in Gundam, its 6 episodes and captures the spirit of it pretty well. Go back and proceed with release order from there. The Patlabor The Early Days OVAs, the Patlabor movies that came after, and Gunbuster are also pretty good.
God this elimate redtags mission is fricking garbage. This gane definitely is harder than Souls since they only give you 3 health for the entirety of the game.
Where you have to beat Michgan, the 2 quads and the onslaught of enemies assaulting you from all over the place in waves. Was healing extremely limited in past AC games?
Dual shorties to quick for quick stuns. With jump legs Spike and multi mussle launcher. I'm just getting so much chip damage and having a very hard time mitigating it between trying to kill the quads while he's stunning me from behind.
Try plasma rifles + plasma missile launchers. You need good AoE for this mission, and the plasma weapons have both damage and AoE, along with plenty of ammo to last you the mission

I managed it with my build, but what extremely annoying mission for me.
I did it in a couple of tries. The first time I was using my grenade fricker build, and I just swapped out my bazooka for a laser rifle and it worked fine. The laser is great for clearing out all of the MTs really easily, and it's surprisingly good against Michigan because his AC is ridiculously mobile and he's really good at dodging.
You should be able to get through the first half of the mission without taking much damage. When he drops in, just circle the room and kill all of the adds before fighting him. When the second wave spawns, I imagine you could probably go after the adds, but I just stayed on him and burned him down because he's way more threatening.
>finally cave and see what all the big fuss regarding double shotguns is about
I fricking kneel.
I have never seen a stagger bar that wasn't orange or red
This shit is fricking insane
absolutely not fricking worth it lmao the range is really garbage and usually results in a shotty to the face it's fun having a combo beatstick on demand, the laser dagger is a bit easier tho
the bleed is a nice touch too
>he doesn't know that boosters determine melee lunge distance and arms modify melee damage
If you're having trouble reaching people with melee check your booster's stats. Or just pick any boosters that mention "melee" in the description
mech chads will someone explain why i struggle so hard with weight? i dont want to sortie overburdened because it slows you down a lot, doesn't it? but why is it so hard to get under the weight limit? am I required to have big THICC legs if I wanna use fun weapons and not just run dual shotties?
Try running a heavier version of whatever legs you prefer or just run tank/quad legs if you still have weight issues. Also your armor will contribute to weight so maybe run a lighter core/head and the lightest arms that can still support your weapons
stealth missions in non stealth games are either incredibly tedious and shitty or barely a stealth mission
i'm kind of happy it was the latter but i would rather have just fought the ACs
my answer was ambiguous on purpose
however I am aware both of the constant crashes some anons have and the fact that the bald bastard apparently does not make an appearance.
I posted my Le Ebin Win in the other thread thinking it was an AC thread when no, it's all whining and crying and typical Ganker shitposters who don't play vidya.
good for lighter craft, there are only SMGs though, no full on machine guns like the other games. they lack power and range for the most part but are great for spraying people up close.
The game has now crashed 3 times for me. Each time after completing a mission with a hard/annoying boss. Honestly consider dropping it and just giving a negative review at this point despite enjoying the game at first.
How are those S ranks coming along lads? I've just done the Intercept the Redguns mission and I have all but 4 S ranks so far.
Ones I can't do >Steal the Survey Data >Attack the Refueling Base(I swear I'm doing this one damn near perfectly and still not getting it)
Ones I haven't tried yet >Survey the Uninhabited Floating City >Attack the Old Spaceport
its like a sea of particles that can hold data and generate energy of its own volition. it solves the energy crisis while also being a giant server cloud.
It's a species of exponentially self-replicating lifeforms that double as an incredibly powerful energy source, and they're good for other science stuff, because they can transmit data and manipulate technology. They're volatile and dangerous, though.
Ayre is a Coral that was able to make a symbiotic, psychic link with you when you got caught in a Coral explosion. Probably because you're an augmented human that had Coral-based augmentations.
A substance that is just as good being both fuel and data conduit.
The latter of which does very, VERY well. So well in fact that you can torch down a planet with it. It is also sentient and houses countless consciousnesses that want to hang out with people but... you know, RRI and the fires of ibis happened.
Evolving expanding hivemind that mutates with other matter. It expands exponentially, which makes it ideal to use as fuel. However, dense clusters evolve to resemble lifelike beings, and the ideal breeding ground for it is the vacuum, meaning that if coral ever reaches space 8t's unironically over for the galaxy. That shit is like a grey goo event but instead of getting devoured into nanomachines you get turned into energy.
Walter was right. Arye a shit. Rubicon must burn.
>cute coral gf not real
Yeah right, Walter. The last I checked, my imagination can't kick my ass six ways to Sunday and then take me out on a date in the arena afterward.
The only one I've played was the the 3rd game on the PS1 and I liked it a lot. I'd recommend it if you're into turn based strategy games like Shining Force and Vandal Hearts but want mechs instead of wizards.
your legs make a big difference in the strength, range and coverage of your boost kick. I'm a quad enjoyer, so the kick is an AoE with a huge lingering hitbox. It's actually become a core part of my build
My mech, LARPing as an RLF fighter. I gotta say it's been interesting to watch PVP evolve. First it was just me using these big cannons and I was kicking ass before I even knew they were actually meta. Then I started seeing more guys use them, and then the zimmerman strats, and then the VE-60SNA + gatling combo, and now I'm seeing dudes with all missile loadouts and high airtime killing people from the top of the map while the previously dominant zimmerman loadout simply can't reach them unless they happened to be super lightweight as well. Shit's wild.
Shits gonna be all over the place for a while, but I think whatever is dominant is gonna displease someone cause when a counter appears it is a hard counter. Best case scenario is you have to run a mixed build, worst is this endless cycle of rock beats shotguns.
For single player though I just wish enemies didn't dodge any long range shot
Yeah I'm just having fun trying to see how long my build carries me but its wild seeing some of the shit going on. Pic related is a match I observed, this guy was having to sneak around and use the terrain against an eternally hovering quad missile boat.
Counter to zimmerman is plasma weapons and keeping your distance so their shotguns are useless. Plasma weapons are effective at medium and long range, and do AoE damage
My main take away from the game is that budget does not equal quality. The Ps1 thrilogy, Last few PS2 games, and 4/4a remain the best games in the series by a solid margin. This game feels like they were scared to just make a classic AC game, and so threw all kinds of shit at the wall hoping it would stick.
Got paid so I bought it today, only played for 3 hours or so but I'm having a great time. Tutorial boss took me a few tries before things started to click, the Wall mission was really fun.
>Tutorial boss took me a few tries before things started to click, the Wall mission was really fun. >hasn't reached chapter 1 boss yet
oh my sweet summer child
I got to that mission where you fight with two other armored cores for the first time and they start shitting on you on the comms. I didn't know I needed this in my life. And it was with American voice acting. Game is fricking hard though and I have no idea how to play without getting hit by a stray bullet.
Hhow many of you beat Balteus without any help, without looking at anything else other than the game. Just you and your own wits, your own skill no tips on what is the best to beat him?
Show me how true your skills are.
i beat him with double bubbles and double laser cannons
I beat him with dual Laser Pistols & Plasma Missiles. I eventually remembered that the Boost Charge makes you deal/take less damage, and that was the key to deal with the chip and keep on his ass.
The fact I just choose a laser build for fun and it ended up being mostly viable is a joy. I'm not used to cool shit being also really fricking good, especially in a From game.
What a hype as frick fight, though. I was basically at 02000 health with 0 repairs for most of the last phase and just dodging everything, it felt amazing to beat him. Haven't felt that from a game in a long time.
Not just without help, but without changing my build even a little bit. Just straight up kept bashing my head against him with laser sword, linear rifle and vertical missile pods until he gave up after like an hour (maybe two).
Took me about 30 minutes ~ 1 hour. Dual machine guns, a mounted laser cannon, and a dream
I literally did. I simply followed what the game told me. Equipped a pulse weapon on the right shoulder, walked in the first shotgun and the large-slash blade and slammed my head against it until he died.

I got a hint but only changed a weapon in my build that worked wonderfully on him. I love you moronic radar dish. Before that I was able to get him to 3rd stage on my own but that was the extra push I needed.
I wanna say more than 10 tries, this boss wasn't really fun to fight while the Chapter 2 boss was fun and the later bosses were manageable as you simply have enough to adapt
your numbers are similar to mine, like shockingly similar. 0 deaths on chopper and 2 on juggernaut though. If you died 15 times to ibis you will have a great time with the other boss
I beat Baltheus the first night the game came out. Took about 10 tries and on the last one I just got lucky.
And yes, I did use the particle gun because the game basically tells you to use it. I also figured out dual zimmermans+songbirds by myself because you can just look at what weapons have the most stagger, and that’s the build.
My proc is a 12 years old I5 4440 while my GC is an RX590 (so not too old), the game runs alright but don't expect a perfectly smooth experience, you'll have framerate drops from time to time.
missiles have no damage falloff and if you put enough of them on you it's sustained dps
t. running two handheld missiles and two 10-packs on the shoulders
Sometimes, kind of, maybe.
It really depends. A lot of missile launchers have huge problems hitting the zippy motherfrickers that the game often throws at you, but some are fine.
I like the horizontal plasma launcher because it has such a massive AoE that even the speediest jumping bean gets caught in it.
anyone figured out yet how to turn off the aggressive chromatic aberration? It's fricking 2023 and companies still force this eye cancer inducing filter into every fricking game I hate it so much
I know I'm getting old when it took me an entire afternoon to beat a single boss and I had to turn off my PS5 and drink a shit load of water because I could feel my heart pounding.
I was getting so fricking angry, but the absolute relief at FINALLY having beat it all on my own no looking at a single guide. Frick me, I don't remember Armored Core for answer being anywhere near this difficult.
>I don't remember Armored Core for answer being anywhere near this difficult.
in the old armored core you were fighting the controls as much as the missions. In this one there's no excuse for getting your ass handed to you

i keep not playing the game even if I like it because I don't want to bother looking for logs and parts I missed. every time I complete a new mission my battle backlog increases so the best way to not increase it is to not do missions
So what the frick happened to the people who'll "watch this one" when you killed the real Raven? They just never said another word, who were they even?
Its good, easily one of the best in the series, but I feel like Yamamura missed the mark in some places. I'd love to keep him in charge of level design, bosses, and everything except actual gameplay mechanics.
This is a personal request....from a friend. It concerns a certain object - called "toilet paper". Once, it was in ample supply within the men's room. Now what remains of it is dormant in the utility closet. I want you to retrieve it. Your objective will be to destroy the packaging around the toilet paper and bring it to the men's room. A survey drone has marked the stall you need to slide the toilet paper under.
what kind of builds are you guys enjoying? I'm only a couple hours into the game but am loving really light and fast builds with dual SMGs and rockets. I'm still confused though - what will make my mech go fast? Bigger boosters? Lower overall weight?
I'm not sure either lol. Some boosters work better for smaller builds. I would think the boosters for heavier builds would give even more speeds, but it's probably not the case. I think they use more energy and smaller frames acn only handle a certain amount of energy from all your weapons and boosters. I think. 10 hours in and I still don't really know what all the stats are lol
Don't feel rushed to understand everything, but occasionally check what each little stat means in the menus. There's a button to do it, V by default on keyboard but idk controller. Eventually you'll learn what everything is and how to more effectively build.
I unlocked the heavy chicken legs and I haven't used anything else since then
Double horizontal plasma missiles, plasma rifle, pulse sword is my favourite setup right now.
>light and fast builds with dual SMGs and rocket
Recently got the laser lance and funnels so made a similar build. Works really well, build stagger really easy near or far and then plasma drill hurricane in. Wish mid reverse joints could take a bit more weight
Can we all agree that Ayre is worst girl?
The b***h lived rent free in my head and thought I was her friend. Burned her planet and family without a second thought.
Are you guys changing your setup depending on the mission? Or keep the same character. Or try a new build esch time? I run a basic sword with rifle and missiles for most missions (I like the sword) unless there's a boss I have trouble with then I keep changing my AC until I find something that works.
Also for those that completed the game, how long did it take you?
What FromSoft has really—and shockingly—gotten good at is writing a romance subplot without ever having truly dabbled in it before. Arye was the best written female they've ever made to date, and if she had a face to put to the name and voice, Ranni's popularity would be a joke in comparison.
>hyping you up and all your accomplishments to his squad for underestimating you while you're fighting them >doesn't get mad when you beat him >busts your balls one last time before blowing up

He might have died by falling down the stairs, but god damn it was a glorious fall
His Arena entry mentions that he posted a massive bounty on his own head, with the stipulation that whoever claims it has to pay half to his old war buddies in Furlong. >Why are so many people looking to die in this game???
It's a hot-blooded ace mecha pilot thing... You wouldn't understand. Respect between warriors and what they fight for.
I don't remember where it was stated, in his arena profile maybe. But after getting G1 he put a bounty on his own head on Balam's wanted board as an open challenge.
>He might have died by falling down the stairs, but god damn it was a glorious fall
how the FRICK is From so good at making me care about random ass characters?
The passion of voice acting is 80% of it, the writing is 10% the setting is 10% is the rest. I don't care what movies, show, game or animation but if the actor convinces me of the character being real, and I no longer see a character but a person who I care for, who I believe is real then man that's what makes a VA/ or actor worth their money.
FromSoft and a select few studios are really good at hiring VA's with Soul.

>play entire game with english dub >change it to JP for NG+ >everyone is worse especially balam
starting to think anyone saying eng VA is bad is just a moronic weeb
3
Nothing convoluted, it's literally just 'pick the missions given to you by the guys whos ending you want'.
But the 3rd ending requires you to go to NG++ since those missions don't even appear unless you've done the other two.
Just beat IB-01, Ibis whatever on NG+ and i feel like i can actually do it again this time. Harris (linear rifle) in one hand, zimmerman in the other. Plasma cannons on the back. Try to get in close for a zimmerman shot while constantly using the harris to slowly build stagger. If he does any attacks that leaves him immobile briefly try to hit him with the plasma cannons
also for this and the other fast boss later in the game, you should use regular legs. Reverse legs get fricked so hard by fast bosses
There are 4 timelines: >Armored Core 1 to Armored Core 2 Another Age (5 games) >Armored Core 3 to Armored Core Last Raven (5 games) >Armored Core 4 to Armored Core Verdict Day (4 games) >Armored Core 6
C-spider was kinda gay. I beat it after a little bit but the arena is way smaller than you think when fighting it.
Using the quads I realized I have a way longer dash distance if I'm in hovermode so using that I was able to dodge all his shit and get out of the way of the blade attack.
I need to make a bipedal build at some point but I've always loved me quads.

this is a mostly single player game and tons of things work, different things are more effective in different situations. a rifle and sword will get you through pretty much anything
Bros I am getting my fricking ass slapped. I just got to Chapter 2 and I feel like no matter what I just always take damage. I try to dodge when the indicators flash but I still get hit. Enemies shoot out missiles that seem to track me super hard yet my missiles miss anything that is briskly walking sideways. I am doing something wrong and not blaming the game.
You can't always dodge everything in this game, but do make sure you're jumping around. The game isn't meant to be played like a shooter btw, make sure you are rushing the enemies. Even with longer range weapons. 300m is really not much at this scale.
What legs? Aren't you just running something slow and just need to bulk up some more to shrug the damage off? Also take a good look at your thruster's stats, some get worse if you're too heavy for them.
I was running 4 leg floaty boi for a while and then switched to just two regular ass legs because 4 legs was so slow and floating seemed useless. I am kind of a heavy mech, using the heavy bipod legs + armor.
Damn I don't even think I can with my current armor set up. I'll see if I can tinker around with it a bit. The game needs to sell me some stronger thrusters.
Floating is cool because it removes weapon recoil/stagger. You can load it up like a tank and fire double should cannons indiscriminately while flying around
What legs? Aren't you just running something slow and just need to bulk up some more to shrug the damage off? Also take a good look at your thruster's stats, some get worse if you're too heavy for them.
regular legs are great for certain boss fights
reverse joints are the best for having fun and blasting the frick out of all the random shitters in a level
tetrapods are cool and fun, i don't think they're very good though
tanks seem to suck ass, but maybe you need a controller
Bipedal is still the most versatile, ideal with speedy builds.
Chicken Legs and Tetrapod for grenades/missiles
Tank is a bit of a meme but quick boosts and real nice with the Gattling Guns.
If you want to use the heavy HEAVY weapons you might end up forced to use Tank/Tetrapod, because their weight tolerance is so much better than bipedal/chicken options.
How do weight and speed actually work? I noticed that getting too close to my load weight with one heavyweight shoulder weapon would almost instantly take me from extremely agile to struggling to ascend and keep up with boss ACs, but I wasn't going over. Is there a specific threshold that takes you from fast to sluggish, like souls?
I just beat Carla's cleaner boss, any good guns like the linear rifle with a faster fire rate? I hate how everything ricochets like crazy on the assault rifles at anything but close range and only the linear rifle let me ping away from a distance I enjoyed fighting at
More looking for a rifle that can be used for chaff too but also good at mid range for ACs and bosses
you're not supposed to fight at distance bro
[...]
JP Snail conveys his arrogance and God complex perfectly especially in the Liberation ending when he starts to mentally degrade
I mean more mid range fighting, Linear is working really nicely right now as it staggers, pings a lot of damage and stagger at med range but wish it had a faster fire rate. It synergises nicely with my missile and grenade back launchers tho and the energy sword for close quarters attacks
Isn't the armor variety a bit shit? I'm trying to be medium weight and there's only like a couple of viable armor options for me, and I'm mid Chapter 3
yeah the part variety kinda sucks on your first run, you'll get more as you go but there isnt much to choose from. the cooler stuff is locked behind NG+
>Boss that actually teleports behind you with her sheer speed >It's actually deeply personal, she spends half the boss fight crying about how she wanted to be with you

Ayre as your first final boss is perfectly fine. She's definitely harder than Walter, though.
If you mean Ayre as a character, than yes. She's probably one of the best girls From has written.
I beat her by sheer luck after a grueling hour. pretty much always beat bosses within ~5 tries, any game i play including sekiro. But the thing is, once i switched to regular biped i beat her within a few more tries. Reverse legs are NO good against her.
>If you mean Ayre as a character, than yes. She's probably one of the best girls From has written.
yea I did and damn okay thats gonna be a tough fight then huh. well I'm kinda looking forward to it but still feel bad about it. i'll make it up next pmaythrough if thats the one that unlocks her ending?

>Reverse legs are NO good against her
Honestly, I had an easier time with reverse joints than with tank threads. Jumping just out of range of her attacks is great.
Might be the way i use them (i used them for 99% of my playthrough so far, only switching for her and IB-01) but the inability to stay on the ground was my problem, I needed SO much energy for that fight to dodge everything while also rushing her. Ughhhh i fricking hate that fight
I'm on my second playthrough and I still think I'll side with her
I did feel bad about betraying Carla, Chatty, and Walter but I just feel like going this way, it's bad either way.
There's a third ending apparently, right? I'm doing my second playthrough, wonder if I can unlock it somehow

You get the third ending by getting the other endings and every mission or whatever. Basically, do your first playthrough, and then in NG+ do the opposite decision at every possible point.

Oh frick, I have to get the other ending? I don't really want to... damn

Don't worry anon the 3rd ending is worth it and makes the other two irrelevant.

Ah alright, I'll go for it then, thanks. I'm sorry Ayre
The bullshit that starts at 33% HP is insane. I have no idea how console players are supposed to keep up with her shit. I guess you have to git gud with quickturn.
idk what boss you fought but if it was ayre and you somehow think it was too easy, you won't get good boy pats here, nobody is impressed with your ability at a video game
Yet you are forced to kill every single one of them directly or indirectly and they rarely seem to have a grudge over it.
I don't know how to feel over this.
Their lack of faces or presence in the world works to their advantage. Characters in their other games feel very artificial because you just keep hitting A/X on them to go through their dialogue until you hit their canned response. It creates a very mechanical interaction between the player and the NPCs.
Removing that and reducing every character to a voice actually increases their since of presence in the world imo
>genetically modified pilots all over the place >#1 AC is a regular ass human just trying to improve his skills
name a more kino trope. Shame they didn't give us more with this guy
>got spoiled by dual shotguns >can't use anything else now
this weapon balance is pretty bad, please recommend me something else that's good for the sake of variety
dual linear rifles + dual plasma cannons
(optional, replace one linear rifle with a plasma rifle) is really fun
there are a ton of loadouts that are way, WAY better than dual shotguns for a specific fight, but dual shotguns are just really versatile and useful in almost every fight
I've been going through NG+ with >Chinese Bazooka (the one with the largest ammo pool) >Grenade Launcher >dual Songbirds
I call the build the BASTARD OF GRENADES. It's a lot of fun, even if it runs into issues against certain more mobile enemies. It's interesting to focus your gameplan around putting a wall or floor behind your enemy so they get shredded by splash damage. It also fricks people up when they get staggered and you can just back to back fire one thing after another into them.
There were a few missions where I swapped the bazooka out for a laser rifle, just so I had something faster to pop speedy ACs or little MTs with. The build also racks up ammo costs like a motherfricker.
I did "Majestic Songbirds" for a lot of my NG. Dual Majestics, dual songbirds. Just sit on dudes and unload the explosives. For speedy ACs, get on top of them and unload the songbirds
GUN THIRTEEN
HOW NICE OF YOU TO ATTEND OUR SEWING CLUB MEETING ON THIS NICE SUNDAY MORNING
NOW WHIP OUT YOUR GODDAMN SUPPLIES, TODAY WE'RE GONNA BE MAKING FANCY SKIRTS FOR OUR AC'S
The small damage loss is entirely worth it for amazing tracking and distance. If you could hold bunker's full charge making it easier to land I might reconsider but that'd be kinda broke. .
I mean Bunker isn't THAT hard to land, you just need to play smart when your opponent is starting to get higher on their stability. What I've also noticed is that the stun duration is very erratic. Sometimes it lasts forever, sometimes it's over in a split second. Makes me wonder if any kind of damage will snap them out of the stun.
>stun duration is very erratic
The whole mechanic is a little obtuse sometimes. I've nearly stunned enemies only to have them shrug all the yellow bar off, but also had it last for ages despite not shooting. Sometimes when stunned they sit waiting and sometimes there is no stun period.
Is there a way to increase controller sensitivity? Controller feels much better than keyboard and mouse for me, but the turn speed is so bad. Eith mouse you can turn almost instantly, but with controller I'm always losing people b3cause I can't track them. I haven't found an option to change sensitivity for it. Just the mouse
>just tell me if I am moronic if I am having problems with the SEA SPIDER
Yes, you are. One of the easiest bosses to beat...
Better than ranni?
Yep
What FromSoft has really—and shockingly—gotten good at is writing a romance subplot without ever having truly dabbled in it before. Arye was the best written female they've ever made to date, and if she had a face to put to the name and voice, Ranni's popularity would be a joke in comparison.
is right that if she had a face she'd be an instant hit more popular than running by far
>One of the easiest bosses to beat...
almost every boss in the game is easier than sea spider. I would say Balteus, IB-01, IB-07, and Enforcer are the only exceptions, and Balteus is pretty subjective
I beat Spider on my second try after switching loadouts. I absolutely demolish it now any time i replay the mission. But you put >hard
in greentext, when I said that almost every boss in the game is easier than spider, which is objectively true.
>Spider is not a filter because I say so
lmao anon almost every boss-bitching post is about Balteus or Sea Spider. Just because YOU know how to beat the boss doesn't mean hundreds of thousands of randos aren't going to struggle with it. Again, I had no trouble with the spider, and nobody cares that you didn't either.
It's not a filter because it's one of the objectively easiest bosses. It's not hard just because you say so either. The solution isn't even a build OR getting good, like with actual bosses, it's just an action anyone should be able to perform with little regard for timing. FLY.
In Arquebus' case Snail seems to be the actual leader in terms of authority and Freud is advertised as their top pilot but might actually be outclassed by Snail and Rusty
I accidentally made the Raven fight extra kino by having nearly the exact same build as him. I actually thought the gimmick of the fight was that he would have the same weapons as you until I talked to my buddy about it.
>Ice worm mission >all new gear after beating chapter 3
I can only imagine what From can do in next AC game if we're already on such kino levels. I don't even need graphical fidelity because it already looks great now thanks to god tier design. >even more bigger and complex missions without invisible walls >more MEGASTRUCTURE >AI companions from VD
I liked the infiltration mission, it's a change of pace.
Yeah I know you can just zoom directly to the objective and circumvent everything by going to the side of the map killing the rare ACs guarding but why wouldn't I just kill everyone for fun?
Fromsoft should try to continue making different missions with varied and unusual goals.
Like, what about a mission like in the movie speed in which your ac explode if you stop boosting or end up staggered?
Or a platforming mission where the floor is literally lava covering the city and you must fight ACs at the same time.
What about stupid goofy events like a AC racing competition between two serious operations?
You can do a lot more with AC. a cooking mama mission like in that mech anime, you break the eggs using your shotgun and cook using your booster/hoovering fire
Hello anons, my physical copy has finally arrived.
This is the first Armored Core I play, I'm very excited.
Just wanted to ask for two tips: English or Japanese voices? And should I use Melander C3 G13 immediately?
english voices are better by a long shot its not even funny
Unless you speak Jap how are you going to read the subtitles in the middle of a tight fight?
ENGLISH
>Just wanted to ask for two tips: English or Japanese voices? And should I use Melander C3 G13 immediately?
English for the first playthrough, just so you get to experience Gun-1 Michigan, and Ayre. Japanese on the second playthrough so you can compare. Third for whatever suited your taste better.
Yes, the Melander C3 G13 set is the best armor you'll have for a decent while. good luck and enjoy the game and your coral waifu Ayre.
Many thanks. So I'll go for English voices and Melander C3 G13
>Unless you speak Jap how are you going to read the subtitles in the middle of a tight fight?
I taked into account dying a lot the first few times. Or taking the risk of reading dialogue and getting shot like I do on Ace Combat
Listing the mechanics of Balteus if anyone wants to add on feel free >Mass wave homing missiles grouped in 2 segments >Shotguns >Machine guns >Melee Kick >Shield Pulse >Heavy homing missile >Normal homing missiles >Sword melee attack >Flaming sword melee attack that leaves area on fire giving damage over time.
>Take the mission the kill him >He's just banting with his own troops >He also hypes you as the most dangerous motherfricker there besides him
It makes up for the mission being hard as balls with no payoff otherwise
You do if you want to buy a lot of things so you can experiment smoothly in the training room rather than backing out, selling parts and buying others, then going back in. Also (more relevant to NG) if you hit a boss that borderline requires the use of a certain weapon you don't have, it sucks to have to replay the whole mission because you had to back out to buy it.
i remember this one time i was bothering my cat laying in bed and i felt this sharp pain on my head (he bit me) and i looked up and he was giving me this EXACT look. There's this mix of nervousness and resoluteness all at once.
>a Gundam game that controls like this >parts aren't really a thing, maybe some weapons can be changed >in return lots of different units to use
UNF TAKE MY MONEY
Pretty good. I run midrange build with them, plasma missiles and laser drones. I think laser rifles are my fave after minigun/shotgun/nade launcher shit
Fantastic for normal missions, killing MTs, and fighting ACs. Good range, good fire rate, good damage, tons of ammo, low ammo cost. Charged shots are handy, as is being able to rapid fire. Only downside is the pretty low impact and direct hit modifier.
Pretty awful for the bigger bosses like Balteus, Sea Spider, or Ibis.
I'm on my second playthrough and what the frick, there are new choices? the RLF told me that they'll pay me more if I betray the redguns so I did , this didn't happen in my first run, did it?
Based posting my mech for a bump
His name is scorpion pick because he does a lot of damage with a pile bunker 🙂
super edgy but still cool, nice work anon.

I really like Carla's voice
she has a great theme in the arena too
I had to stop the cleaner boss fight to go jack off I liked it so much. Came back and beat it on my first try.
this one always made me feel so hyped
people calling this OST bland are out of their minds

this shit was so sad wtf bros
walter was honestly happy for you even as you killed him
arye too when you killed her
and rusty
why are the characters here all so genuinely nice?
except allmind frick that stupid c**t i hope she burns in hell
having 3 nice doesnt change the fact that the rest of the characters are c**ts to you, frick snail
They're all fighting for reasons they only understand. Ayre, Walter, Rusty too.
>you
Bro. All the endings are sad. Wtf. Just got done with the NG++ end. Can we just have a happy ending?
give me some mechs with good color I don't want to be this edgy frick anymore
Feels so good to be back to AC after not touching the franchise since Another Age.
I went with the green preset combo for now. It's bright, it's flashy, it does the job
Who else here Jap dub for NG+?
and forsake michigan's beautiful voice yelling military platitudes at me? nah
Any good video examples? Because whatever few snippets of it i heard for now suck ass and i say that as someone who generally picks jap dub if available
I've had to replay the Smart Cleaner mission 4 times now because it crashes everytime I try going to the assembly screen.
So what the frick does recoil compensation do?
Compensates recoil
Machine guns get less accurate as you fire based on your recoil compensation.
i use a coral generator purely for the red booster color
are there any green energy generators i always like the look of the green boosters from 3rd gen cause they look like Zero's sword with a red AC
I tried
Nice T3 reference anon
>play pvp

>cel-240
as a lightweight double zimmerman build I just dodged to opposite direction of her blade swings and frick you laser
Songbird immediately at the start of combat. Should stagger then assault rush pile bunk. Rinse and repeat.
JUST FRICKING BEAT BALTEUS I AM FRICKING HYPE YYYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH
How in the FRICK do you get an S rank on the 'destroy transport helicopters' mission in chapter 1? I'm assault boosting, firing missiles, turning before it's even destroyed and boosting to the next one etc, probably takes me like 45 seconds and it's still not enough. Do I really have to make sure I'm not getting hit at all? I only lost about 100 AP on that last attempt
Are you killing the Tetrapod?
Uh, no... it's optional isn't it? I thought S ranks only needed the mission objectives to be done
It's optional, I got S without even touching it. Remember that apart from the repair costs and time, you're also getting scored on ammo, are you sure you're no doing some huge overkill and destroying the choppers with some really expensive shit? Maybe melee one or two of the copters to save up on ammunition.
I don’t know if ammo costs matter I just made a fast mech with two bazookas and didn’t get hit running past everything
If you're as fast as possible then you're probably really close to hitting that S rank, it's possible saving up some dollars on ammo costs could bring you over.
I’m not that anon I’m saying that’s how I got S rank. Just shoot the helicopters and run past everything
That’s your problem then. Bring something cheaper to sort out the chaff.
How are your ammo costs? It’s not just speed and damage that matter.
I S-ranked it my first try, but I killed a bunch of the MTs including the tetrapod. I think you need most of the possible bonus points for the S-rank.
Okay I finally fricking did it. It seems those missions with the bonus money on killing enemies actually helps with S ranks, so I basically going too fricking fast. I killed about 10-15 small enemies with low ammo cost weapons, took twice as long and even had about 2000 AP damage and still got the S rank.
для Poдины
when do you get more shoulder lasers
In NG+ you'll get the comedically large triple shoulder laser.
one of the best characters
This game piqued my interest in mechas. What are some essentials I should check out?
Darling in the FranXX
Don't
Don't send them down that pain train
There's nothing wrong with the ending and anyone who says there is is likely a zoomie zoom zoom
The aliens asspull was shit and you know it. The first 2/3s of the series was decent enough until they pulled that. The /very/ end was decent and had a nice message of hope.
>The aliens asspull was shit and you know it.
the aliens were fine, anyone who went into what was basically a Gainax anime without expecting them to go to space should neck themselves, if you want le 10,000 times folded multithreaded war plot go watch fricking LotGH
game is good till the bossfights start having you frantically swinging your camera around the entire time
Use lock-on and don't get outmaneuvered anon
really feels like they break lockon basically every time, but you are right in that I should just change my build to max stam and boosters if I plan on using close range weapons
just annoying that it feels like some of the bosses are purpose built for some pretty basic builds that the game just waves right in your face, like giving you the reverse joint tutorial right before that tank boss on the wall
so you are moronic then, thanks for telling me I guess
Go coom to Zero Tsu some more. Going to space was a poor imitation of Gurren Lagann with none of the buildup or emotional resonance. Just because something is a reference doesn’t make it good
boing boing
Not that anon but the last third of Franxx was so bad that I stopped watching Trigger for years.
Trigger wasn't even involved with Franxx past like ep8, the script was some old shit Nishigori had sitting around for like 20+ years and you can absolutely tell. The seethe was and is truly palpable, none of you frickers would've survived the 90s.
>it's ok, it was supposed to be shit
I'm just making the point that not only did you not even know it wasn't a Trigger show (so you very obviously have preexisting bias in terms of the actual studios involved, let us not play pretend) but that storytelling convention, particularly for the mecha genre, was massively different around the time of Nadia and Martian Successor. Franxx isn't even an isolated incident either, Bones had the exact same issue with Star Driver and Eureka Seven. It's the baggage that comes with hiring the frickers who can actually still animate hand-drawn mecha, they all grew up on and were trained by a completely different type of anime.
Absolutely not G-Bitch. Watch the universal century Gundam movies +related material and wing. Also patlabor.
Watch War in the Pocket to see if you're interested in Gundam, its 6 episodes and captures the spirit of it pretty well. Go back and proceed with release order from there. The Patlabor The Early Days OVAs, the Patlabor movies that came after, and Gunbuster are also pretty good.

Why is this game so easy? there was not even single challange 3 hours after first boss.
is kate real or just allmind?
how could iguazu hear ayre?
I think there was mention in his arena bio about him getting fricked up by the coral at some point
In his battle, he even starts talking something like "not now" and "get out of my head".
>spoiler
He doesn't. He's hearing All-Mind, not Arye. The crazy b***h is driving him insane so he works for her.
no, he even mention only happening when fighting you, and only when ayre says something to you, he can hear ayre, he even say that in the final fight
Beyond the stuff that
says, some Dosers actually made Contact. The RLF leader had a Coral gf of his own. He isn't hearing Ayre, but a different Coral girl.
homie, play NG++ and do the last fight
I'm working towards it...
so stop arguing something you clearly dont know all details about it you moron
God this elimate redtags mission is fricking garbage. This gane definitely is harder than Souls since they only give you 3 health for the entirety of the game.
Redguns*
Which one?
Where you have to beat Michgan, the 2 quads and the onslaught of enemies assaulting you from all over the place in waves. Was healing extremely limited in past AC games?
Previous AC games didn't have healing.
What weapons are you using? I breezed through the mission with the laser blade and a shotgun.
Wheelchair + double flame throwers. You're welcome.
When the second wave spawns, I imagine you could probably go after the adds, but I just stayed on him and burned him down because he's way more threatening.
bros why is every PCA dude so strong?
>finally cave and see what all the big fuss regarding double shotguns is about
I fricking kneel.
I have never seen a stagger bar that wasn't orange or red
This shit is fricking insane
So what are the official powerlevels?
621>Walter>Rusty>the rest>fodder ACs>MTs>iguazu?
Agreed. I feel like my build became irrelevant, because I can just do that at high speed and outdamage and outstagger everyone
Is Delivery Boy good? It looks awesome.
Is the chainsaw worth it over pilebunker?
no
STICK WITH THE PROD
Is it good? I tried using it but it was kinda meh
absolutely not fricking worth it lmao the range is really garbage and usually results in a shotty to the face it's fun having a combo beatstick on demand, the laser dagger is a bit easier tho
the bleed is a nice touch too
>he doesn't know that boosters determine melee lunge distance and arms modify melee damage
If you're having trouble reaching people with melee check your booster's stats. Or just pick any boosters that mention "melee" in the description
I like it, the cooldown is basically instant so you can spam it with abandon
a non lethal takedown is always the most silent takedown
His name is Toothpaste.
But he doesn't look like Colgate.
The Toothpaste of Shibuya
mech chads will someone explain why i struggle so hard with weight? i dont want to sortie overburdened because it slows you down a lot, doesn't it? but why is it so hard to get under the weight limit? am I required to have big THICC legs if I wanna use fun weapons and not just run dual shotties?
mario if he steel
yes, bigger weapons/armor is reserved for bigger legs
dropping a weapon completely is an option though, you don't really need all 4 anyway
Either
>get better load bearing legs
>use lighter weapons (try out the handguns they have good impact damage)
>leave some weapon slots empty
Try running a heavier version of whatever legs you prefer or just run tank/quad legs if you still have weight issues. Also your armor will contribute to weight so maybe run a lighter core/head and the lightest arms that can still support your weapons
>stealth mission
>easiest way through is just to skirt one of the edges and destroy any MTs you see near that path
Did this disappoint anyone else?
stealth missions in non stealth games are either incredibly tedious and shitty or barely a stealth mission
i'm kind of happy it was the latter but i would rather have just fought the ACs

my answer was ambiguous on purpose
however I am aware both of the constant crashes some anons have and the fact that the bald bastard apparently does not make an appearance.

How are dual machineguns
don't know if I want to give up melee
good for lighter craft, there are only SMGs though, no full on machine guns like the other games. they lack power and range for the most part but are great for spraying people up close.
why does photo mode keep crashing the game
There goes my idea...

The game has now crashed 3 times for me. Each time after completing a mission with a hard/annoying boss. Honestly consider dropping it and just giving a negative review at this point despite enjoying the game at first.

love that goemon ass homie
Made a few tweaks to Lord Freeza. I decided to be stubborn and see if I could beat Balteus with the laser handgun. It only took like 2 hours.
What the hell is a sortie? Sounds really gay.
its the military term for "going out to do stuff"
I'd been wondering too and I figured it was French (explains the gayness). Just googled it, it is indeed. The word sortir which is "to go out"
I still don't know what the frick Coral is
It gave you the lovable tulpa gf in your head and that's all you need to know
it's the labor force of capitalism
It's a sentient hivemind of red goo, and it's also 621's GF. Take that as you will.
its like a sea of particles that can hold data and generate energy of its own volition. it solves the energy crisis while also being a giant server cloud.
>sea of particles that can hold data and generate energy
Devs took the "data is the new oil" concept too literally
Rubicon must burn.

wtf is going on with that pilebunker?
it seems way smaller than the one i have
help, I'm on a post-AC6 mech high. Is this worth picking up?
The only one I've played was the the 3rd game on the PS1 and I liked it a lot. I'd recommend it if you're into turn based strategy games like Shining Force and Vandal Hearts but want mechs instead of wizards.
wizards are just fantasy mechs anyways
Just emulate the DS version
how are you fricks so goddamn creative with your decals and emblems?
>how are you fricks so goddamn creative with your decals and emblems?
>how do i actually land assault boost kick?
The answer to both of these is the same: git gud
frick me they're really pushing Rusty as this game's Pixy

I FLY HIGHHHHHHHH

how do i actually land assault boost kick?
your legs make a big difference in the strength, range and coverage of your boost kick. I'm a quad enjoyer, so the kick is an AoE with a huge lingering hitbox. It's actually become a core part of my build
is there any actual ingame way to see that outside of testing everything yourself?
just...use the AC test? They make it moronicly easy to adjust your assembly in the test zone itself. How lazy are you?
very
My mech, LARPing as an RLF fighter.
I knew you could do it, buddy
Saved!
Counter to zimmerman is plasma weapons and keeping your distance so their shotguns are useless. Plasma weapons are effective at medium and long range, and do AoE damage
I don't understand how people make emblems
in english?
How'd they do that overlay thing? At 5:20 shit looks fricking advanced as frick wtf
>yukkuri voice over
absolute soul
The Japanese commitment to cute girls is truly unbeatable.
Anyone have the naming tier list copypasta?
My main take away from the game is that budget does not equal quality. The Ps1 thrilogy, Last few PS2 games, and 4/4a remain the best games in the series by a solid margin. This game feels like they were scared to just make a classic AC game, and so threw all kinds of shit at the wall hoping it would stick.
>FAbabby
your opinion is trash
not a real raven
I played every game in the series on release. Chortle my raven balls.
FA is the best imo.
How far from said boss am I? I want to play a bit more later, once it cools down a bit.
not going for s ranks anymore
fromsoft is fricking moronic and the scoring system is badly designed and poorly communicated
welcome to any scoring system in any videogame ever, I've never 100%d any of the DMCs for the same exact reason
Its pretty fair, only some really bullshit ones like the helicopter one need to be balanced better
need me some light tetralegs
i didnt know Mountain Dew was a corporate sponsor in this game.
the first quadlegs you are able to buy ARE the light ones. You only get one more of them and they're the heavy variant
yeah but it's still 10k weight above these big legs and I wanna BOOST
I got to that mission where you fight with two other armored cores for the first time and they start shitting on you on the comms. I didn't know I needed this in my life. And it was with American voice acting. Game is fricking hard though and I have no idea how to play without getting hit by a stray bullet.
Hhow many of you beat Balteus without any help, without looking at anything else other than the game. Just you and your own wits, your own skill no tips on what is the best to beat him?
Show me how true your skills are.
Not me, that's for fricking sure
I used double shotties and his ai was extra nice so I beat it on my 3rd try
does that count
i beat him with double bubbles and double laser cannons
are you me
I beat him with dual Laser Pistols & Plasma Missiles.
Chopper: 2
Juggernaut: 1
Cleaner: 2
Balteus: 5
Spider: 3
Ibis: 15
EEAAAAAARGH: 8
I have to play the other ending now on ng+ and im scared
your numbers are similar to mine, like shockingly similar. 0 deaths on chopper and 2 on juggernaut though. If you died 15 times to ibis you will have a great time with the other boss
hoo boy
I beat Baltheus the first night the game came out. Took about 10 tries and on the last one I just got lucky.
And yes, I did use the particle gun because the game basically tells you to use it. I also figured out dual zimmermans+songbirds by myself because you can just look at what weapons have the most stagger, and that’s the build.
Maybe dumb question, but will the game even run on an i5-6400? Literally the only thing I'm worried about in terms of running the PC version.
I feel like I'm getting CPU limited with my 5900X but it could just be d3dvk's drawcall limits...
works fine on my 5900x machine
ditch troonix and buy a real card
the game runs buttery smooth on literally anything, it's amazingly well optimized
My proc is a 12 years old I5 4440 while my GC is an RX590 (so not too old), the game runs alright but don't expect a perfectly smooth experience, you'll have framerate drops from time to time.
I'm running it on an i5-4670k and R9 390. All low, but it works and is mostly stable unless there's really a ton of stuff going on.
are missile launchers a trap?
FRICK NO. vomiting missiles 24/7 is a series staple and will solve any problem you throw them at.
Missiles are honest the best they've ever been in the series you can solve almost anything with enough missiles
no? they're good
missiles have no damage falloff and if you put enough of them on you it's sustained dps
t. running two handheld missiles and two 10-packs on the shoulders
Sometimes, kind of, maybe.
It really depends. A lot of missile launchers have huge problems hitting the zippy motherfrickers that the game often throws at you, but some are fine.
I like the horizontal plasma launcher because it has such a massive AoE that even the speediest jumping bean gets caught in it.
has anyone s-ranked all the missions with the jailbreak junk ac yet
>game keeps crashing on the balteus 2 fight
it's over
WHAT THE FRICK IS THIS
The power of autism, anon.
the only songs i can even recall are the balteus and the chatty/carla boss themes
anyone figured out yet how to turn off the aggressive chromatic aberration?

The operator who was piloting the frame was autistically talking to said frame.
>every B-team game since DaS2 has been a fricking masterpiece
were you here when the B-team became the A-team anon
B team didn’t make Sekiro
Its good, easily one of the best in the series, but I feel like Yamamura missed the mark in some places. I'd love to keep him in charge of level design, bosses, and everything except actual gameplay mechanics.
This is the most mechanical depth AC has ever had; and I think it’s silly to think they won’t do some rebalancing in time for the ac6 expansion
>This is the most mechanical depth AC has ever had
No its not?
Yes it is?
The movement in FA alone is way more complex with how boosting works.
Yea the same game where the Japanese meta was to politely suicide when you ran out of ammo because they could rarely hit each other, kek
We're talking about the game mechanics, AC6 doesn't feel any more deeper than the early generation games.
It’s mechanically deeper than the entire series
This is a personal request....from a friend. It concerns a certain object - called "toilet paper". Once, it was in ample supply within the men's room. Now what remains of it is dormant in the utility closet. I want you to retrieve it. Your objective will be to destroy the packaging around the toilet paper and bring it to the men's room. A survey drone has marked the stall you need to slide the toilet paper under.
I love these bits
what kind of builds are you guys enjoying?
621, why are you going on surveys collecting datapods alone?
Science
Are you guys changing your setup depending on the mission? Or keep the same character. Or try a new build esch time? I run a basic sword with rifle and missiles for most missions (I like the sword) unless there's a boss I have trouble with then I keep changing my AC until I find something that works.
Also for those that completed the game, how long did it take you?
I’m in NG+ I don’t need to worry about hidden parts in levels till post Baltheus right?
There really arn't that many, and yeah.
God the kiling Michigan mission is fricking moron. What build could i use to cheese this
>cheesing the best mission in the game
grow up and finish it like a man, it's what Michigan would want
Same as you cheese everything else but switch one of the main weapon slots to some garbage with lots of ammo to kill all the MTs
>TIME TO DIE, MAGGOT
between this and ER I think Fromsoft has actually gotten pretty decent at writing stories
they've always been good at writing stories, they just hide it behind a shitton of missable lore
What FromSoft has really—and shockingly—gotten good at is writing a romance subplot without ever having truly dabbled in it before. Arye was the best written female they've ever made to date, and if she had a face to put to the name and voice, Ranni's popularity would be a joke in comparison.
Now that AC6 is good. Can we get the fires of Ibis prequel where all the scientists larp as knights?
I want AC:Zero
>Now that AC6 is good. Can we get the fires of Ibis prequel where all the scientists larp as knights?
wait for the DLC anon
>where all the scientists larp as knights?
nani
No. We need a coral waifu dlc featuring another date night with 621
>Why don't you start a sewing club together
>And stitch that DAMN MOUTH OF YOURS SHUT!!!
I love Michigan and his voice actor.
G1 is the only tolerable Redgun
I like Red a lot too.
G6 is just G1 but less cool
>hyping you up and all your accomplishments to his squad for underestimating you while you're fighting them
>doesn't get mad when you beat him

Michigan was too good for this world

>when Michigan hypes you up
>when Michigan still calls you Gun 13
>when you get paid his self posted bounty as a bonus
He might have died by falling down the stairs, but god damn it was a glorious fall
>selfposted bountry
the frick? explain anon. Why are so many people looking to die in this game???
His Arena entry mentions that he posted a massive bounty on his own head, with the stipulation that whoever claims it has to pay half to his old war buddies in Furlong.
>Why are so many people looking to die in this game???
It's a hot-blooded ace mecha pilot thing... You wouldn't understand. Respect between warriors and what they fight for.
>Live and die by the barrel of a gun
It's more of a "look at how fricking badass I am" thing from him. He also wanted his bounty to be donated to his old gang after he dies.
Michigan is DC Douglas, aka Wesker, so there was no chance of his performance being bad.
I think the dub was great overall.
Good on FromSoft for hiring him, AND frick you CAPCOM for shitting on him.
Wait, what happened with him and Capcom?
They fired him from the RE4 Remake for "leaking".
Michigan is the coolest guy
>tfw I died to the mooks leftover after annexing Michigan's ass
well played space yank
Michigan was a fricking absolute lad.
Michigan was great. I regret killing him.
anon is right. Killing all these good characters is just depressing.
>play entire game with english dub
>change it to JP for NG+
>everyone is worse especially balam
starting to think anyone saying eng VA is bad is just a moronic weeb
>everyone is worse especially balam
Walter, Ayre, Carla, Snail, Raven's Operator, Rusty and Iguazu are better in JP

see, moronic weebs
>Ayre

Stopped reading right there.
>snail
english snail personifies slimeness
Cheap american dubs are a mixed bag, sometimes they're just abysmal. Nobody complains when From hires the professional British voice actors.
WALTUH's voice is already perfect to me though, i'm sticking with English for that alone.
SHOW ME YOUR WARFACE
Without spoiling how many endings are there and are they easy to identify or do you need some convoluted shit to get them?
3 endings and yeah they’re pretty obvious. Game isn’t over until NG++
3
Nothing convoluted, it's literally just 'pick the missions given to you by the guys whos ending you want'.
But the 3rd ending requires you to go to NG++ since those missions don't even appear unless you've done the other two.
So if I pick the first 2 choices on the first 2 NG then on NG++ I'll get the third guaranteed right?
Just beat IB-01, Ibis whatever on NG+ and i feel like i can actually do it again this time. Harris (linear rifle) in one hand, zimmerman in the other. Plasma cannons on the back. Try to get in close for a zimmerman shot while constantly using the harris to slowly build stagger. If he does any attacks that leaves him immobile briefly try to hit him with the plasma cannons
also for this and the other fast boss later in the game, you should use regular legs. Reverse legs get fricked so hard by fast bosses
Are the AC games chronologically connected to each other or is it like SMT?
no, they're each in different universes from my understanding
There are 4 timelines:
>Armored Core 1 to Armored Core 2 Another Age (5 games)
>Armored Core 3 to Armored Core Last Raven (5 games)
>Armored Core 4 to Armored Core Verdict Day (4 games)
>Armored Core 6
Gotcha, thanks anon
4>5>1>2
3 and 6 are basically their own things and even the line connecting 5 and 1 is a callback at most.
>Carla sends me backup, pays me well and makes cool parts
>breaks me out of prison and saves my life in my time of need
>Ayre lives in my head rent free
>does nothing for me and gives me nothing
>Ayre: KILL CARLA
no, b***h, I don't think I will. me and mommy Carla are gonna save this b***h of a planet.
that was my exact reasoning for siding with Carla, didn't make sense to betray her and Walter after all they did for me, especially for some tulpa waifu that forcefully invaded my consciousness without my consent
>me and mommy Carla are gonna save this b***h of a planet
Objectively, Carla is the worst ending.
>3DPD
>didn't make sense to betray her and Walter after all they did for me
guess who turned 621 into a bodybag in the first place
sorry but it's not even a choice
that's literally a labia
>guess who turned 621 into a bodybag in the first place
who?
Is it possible to beat the whole game with bipedal legs, sword, and a regular rifle?
I just want to look cool instead of metagayging.
>metagayging
this is a mostly single player game and tons of things work, different things are more effective in different situations. a rifle and sword will get you through pretty much anything
you can literally beat the game with no weapons fist only
Very pointless complaint, I wish the loading screen was better
You didn't disappoint him this time, right?
Dewey did NOTHING wrong.
How git gud?
Just equip four shotguns
You can't always dodge everything in this game, but do make sure you're jumping around. The game isn't meant to be played like a shooter btw, make sure you are rushing the enemies. Even with longer range weapons. 300m is really not much at this scale.
What legs are you using
I was running 4 leg floaty boi for a while and then switched to just two regular ass legs because 4 legs was so slow and floating seemed useless. I am kind of a heavy mech, using the heavy bipod legs + armor.
Use a better thruster. Get your boost speed above 300 and things will start to feel better.
Also take a good look at your thruster's stats, some get worse if you're too heavy for them.
>yet my missiles miss anything that is briskly walking sideways
You need a targettint chop for missiles and for the range you're engaging. Or you can be a Chad and run a pistol/pile driver with close range max chip
what's the best leg type?
Light Tank Legs aka "The Wheelchair". all the benefits of tank legs with none of the drawbacks.
regular legs are great for certain boss fights
reverse joints are the best for having fun and blasting the frick out of all the random shitters in a level
tetrapods are cool and fun, i don't think they're very good though
tanks seem to suck ass, but maybe you need a controller
Bipedal is still the most versatile, ideal with speedy builds.
Chicken Legs and Tetrapod for grenades/missiles
Tank is a bit of a meme but quick boosts and real nice with the Gattling Guns.
If you want to use the heavy HEAVY weapons you might end up forced to use Tank/Tetrapod, because their weight tolerance is so much better than bipedal/chicken options.
>Tank is a bit of a meme
Wheelchair tank is the fastest build
Tank isn’t a meme at all, if they have a good player they can hug cover better than any other type
spring chicken gives you absurd weight load on reverse joints
you are all dogs that need to be put down
Shut up snail. You'll never be as good as Michigan or Freud, nor as cool as Rusty.
I’m not 100% sure on the rules but look at your boosters detailed stats there is a max load limit before your QB eats a penalty
Does weight impact boost kick damage? do the arms affect punching damage and stagger buildup from them?
I wont miss
>People unironically simping for fricking Ragna the Bloodedge VA Walter
gross
I just beat Carla's cleaner boss, any good guns like the linear rifle with a faster fire rate? I hate how everything ricochets like crazy on the assault rifles at anything but close range and only the linear rifle let me ping away from a distance I enjoyed fighting at
the plasma bazooka you had for a while
More looking for a rifle that can be used for chaff too but also good at mid range for ACs and bosses
I mean more mid range fighting, Linear is working really nicely right now as it staggers, pings a lot of damage and stagger at med range but wish it had a faster fire rate. It synergises nicely with my missile and grenade back launchers tho and the energy sword for close quarters attacks
you're not supposed to fight at distance bro
JP Snail conveys his arrogance and God complex perfectly especially in the Liberation ending when he starts to mentally degrade
I AM ARQUEBUS!!!! AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Isn't the armor variety a bit shit? I'm trying to be medium weight and there's only like a couple of viable armor options for me, and I'm mid Chapter 3
yeah the part variety kinda sucks on your first run, you'll get more as you go but there isnt much to choose from. the cooler stuff is locked behind NG+
>teleports behind you
heh.... nothin personell Raven....
Not so fast!
>Penetrating her that hard
You fool! That's what she wants!
>Boss that actually teleports behind you with her sheer speed
>It's actually deeply personal, she spends half the boss fight crying about how she wanted to be with you
fuq. you two are making me anxious about not going with arye in my first playthrough
is she really that good?
Ayre as your first final boss is perfectly fine. She's definitely harder than Walter, though.
If you mean Ayre as a character, than yes. She's probably one of the best girls From has written.
Better than ranni?
>If you mean Ayre as a character, than yes. She's probably one of the best girls From has written.
yea I did and damn okay thats gonna be a tough fight then huh. well I'm kinda looking forward to it but still feel bad about it. i'll make it up next pmaythrough if thats the one that unlocks her ending?
I beat her by sheer luck after a grueling hour. pretty much always beat bosses within ~5 tries, any game i play including sekiro. But the thing is, once i switched to regular biped i beat her within a few more tries. Reverse legs are NO good against her.
I like her
I like her too bro. Why is Arye such a cute????
I'm on my second playthrough and I still think I'll side with her
I did feel bad about betraying Carla, Chatty, and Walter but I just feel like going this way, it's bad either way.
You're gonna feel bad either way, because both of the primary endings result in betraying a character who genuinely cares about you.
There's a third ending apparently, right? I'm doing my second playthrough, wonder if I can unlock it somehow
NG++ only
what the frick, alright then there's more shit to do, nice
thanks anons
the more I play the more I like like the game
I'll tell you right away you'll need to do a third playthrough.
I guess you have to git gud with quickturn.
>we can't get this AC ingame
fricking bullshit
Because it's not an AC, it's an Ibis series
Just like Walter's AC, right?
You mean the one that's specifically noted to be the only one that was designed to be piloted?
You should be able to unlock copies of "designs based on the Ibis series" or something like that.
Help. I keep running out of ammo.
Where the photo mode screenshots at?
Post your emblems
That's a pretty fricking rad emblem.
thanks It took a while to think up completely bullshit latin to put around the ring
first draft and I fricked the lettering up but I'll fix it later
I wish I was skilled enough to make anime chicks
is there a new last boss on NG+?
it was way too easy
idk what boss you fought but if it was ayre and you somehow think it was too easy, you won't get good boy pats here, nobody is impressed with your ability at a video game
dont shit your pants big boy
I have come to care about these random AC pilots far more than any character in Soulsborneringiro
Removing that and reducing every character to a voice actually increases their since of presence in the world imo
>genetically modified pilots all over the place
>#1 AC is a regular ass human just trying to improve his skills
name a more kino trope. Shame they didn't give us more with this guy
How the frick do you kill Freddie and then go killed the Warrant Officer without any check points or resupplies?
you pick the other mission for your first playthrough because it's easier lol
Just dodge like a motherfricker and don't miss those songbird shots.
>got spoiled by dual shotguns
>can't use anything else now
this weapon balance is pretty bad, please recommend me something else that's good for the sake of variety
Dual gatling guns
Dual Laser Pistols seem to still shred.
laser rifle and laser sword.
Become the gundam!
>he's not using 4 shotguns
lol
lmao even
dual linear rifles + dual plasma cannons
(optional, replace one linear rifle with a plasma rifle) is really fun
there are a ton of loadouts that are way, WAY better than dual shotguns for a specific fight, but dual shotguns are just really versatile and useful in almost every fight
I've been going through NG+ with
>Chinese Bazooka (the one with the largest ammo pool)
>Grenade Launcher
>dual Songbirds
I can understand why Songbirds have such low ammo because my god, they are merciless.
Rusty just evaporated.
>Twin Machineguns
>Needle Guns
>Laser anything
>'Sawa
>Full electric weaponry loadout
>Dual flamethrower+Napalm launchers
>Laser Lance+Pilebunker/Plasma thrower
>Missile boat
The choice is yours
holy shit what weapon is that
It's this game's version of the Karasawa.
It has three fire modes
>Normal laser
>Charged plasma launcher
>Super Charged FRICK YOU BEAM
Sick, do you just get it from the shop eventually or do you have to do some bullshit to get it
Reach Hunter Rank 12, gotta get those logs raven!
Ah frick, I'll be back in the replay mines when I get home then
dual handheld missile launchers
just fly around and shoot missiles everywhere
Gatling gun + Laser Lance
>that mission with the fricking wheels
yeah nah not doing that ever again
Kill Cinder Carla
Would you prefer a prequel DLC, or a side story?
I want an expansion where Raven can side with Branch and the corps
I want more schizo 62q and coral waifu content. FromSoft, please.
GUN THIRTEEN
HOW NICE OF YOU TO ATTEND OUR SEWING CLUB MEETING ON THIS NICE SUNDAY MORNING
NOW WHIP OUT YOUR GODDAMN SUPPLIES, TODAY WE'RE GONNA BE MAKING FANCY SKIRTS FOR OUR AC'S
AND GUN FIVE, SHUT THE FRICK UP
I loved how he seemed to know every single MT Black person (fodder), what a guy.
I can hear it in his voice what the frick
You can just slap GUN THIRTEEN at the beginning of any post and your brain will automatically read it in his voice
>GUN 5, HOW MANY RANKS BELOW YOU IS GUN 13?
>DON'T THINK TOO MUCH, IT'S A LOT
fricking love michigan
kinda fricked that balam was responsible for killing the worm but archebus won the war in the end
Ok, the laser lance is pretty cool, too. A lot easier to use than the Pile Bunker at least.
The small damage loss is entirely worth it for amazing tracking and distance. If you could hold bunker's full charge making it easier to land I might reconsider but that'd be kinda broke. .
The bunker is a high iq melee weapon.
Using both together works wonders.
Camera speed under camera settings. Set it to 10.
Sigh. I'm sorry Raven
Don't tell me what to do, just tell me if I am moronic if I am having problems with the SEA SPIDER
I had problems with it too.
Then I went to the dark side and embraced meta.
No. Balteus and Sea Spider are the first two filters. Try either staying in the air or staying right up on him
Just beat Balteus, I know nothing about this Sea Spider but I'm hoping it's not right after so I can have a breather/ get my bearings.
It's not, and you can always duck out and replay missions to grind out some parts while also testing out other weapons.
Thank god, yeah I'll be doing that to feel normal again. Balteus made me feel like a little b***h for an hour.
>just tell me if I am moronic if I am having problems with the SEA SPIDER
Yes, you are. One of the easiest bosses to beat...
Yep
is right that if she had a face she'd be an instant hit more popular than running by far
>One of the easiest bosses to beat...
almost every boss in the game is easier than sea spider. I would say Balteus, IB-01, IB-07, and Enforcer are the only exceptions, and Balteus is pretty subjective
>spider
>hard
what, you can literally hug it and it cant do shit, after it flies you can climb on it and it also cant do shit
I beat Spider on my second try after switching loadouts. I absolutely demolish it now any time i replay the mission. But you put
>hard
in greentext, when I said that almost every boss in the game is easier than spider, which is objectively true.
>sea spider
>hard
Just fly
Literally just fly and shoot while strafing. C-Spider is not a filter enemy, it's Cleaner level or lower.
FLY.
how does balam and archebus titles work? 1 is most important and go from there?
In Arquebus' case Snail seems to be the actual leader in terms of authority and Freud is advertised as their top pilot but might actually be outclassed by Snail and Rusty
isnt pater the top of the top in archebus?
Pater is just their liaison I thought
Snail is really only the leader because Freud only cares about mech fighting. Snail is the brains of the operation
Do I have to get both normal endings to get the true 3rd ending or whatever?
>he can only afford Dafeng parts
why is every liberation Black person asian?
Please do not fall in love with the weird alien girl living in your head
Too late
Too late, she had me at "Who are you?"
can't hear you over tulpa asmr
shes living rent free here
All i can hear is my coral tulpa whispering sweet nothings in my ear as we cuddle
I was with her until she told me to betray my mommy
>mommy
that stupid b***h tries to kill you later
frick that vapid c**t and burn in hell with her
It was just a test bro
I accidentally made the Raven fight extra kino by having nearly the exact same build as him. I actually thought the gimmick of the fight was that he would have the same weapons as you until I talked to my buddy about it.
All my ACs are painted and named after billiard balls but I skipped no.9
>Ice worm mission
>all new gear after beating chapter 3
I can only imagine what From can do in next AC game if we're already on such kino levels. I don't even need graphical fidelity because it already looks great now thanks to god tier design.
>even more bigger and complex missions without invisible walls
>more MEGASTRUCTURE
>AI companions from VD
Is the ALLMIND gear good? What's their use?
Well I posted this and the thread is already over 500 replies and dropping to page 10. I'm stupid.
Witness my ideas Miyazaki
Hello anons, my physical copy has finally arrived.
This is the first Armored Core I play, I'm very excited.
Just wanted to ask for two tips: English or Japanese voices? And should I use Melander C3 G13 immediately?
>And should I use Melander C3 G13 immediately?
I don't know when you otherwise unlock it but it's basically just a midweight set
I liked the JP voices
Many thanks. So I'll go for English voices and Melander C3 G13
>Unless you speak Jap how are you going to read the subtitles in the middle of a tight fight?
I taked into account dying a lot the first few times. Or taking the risk of reading dialogue and getting shot like I do on Ace Combat
It's a Fromsoft game, so english voices.
english voices are better by a long shot its not even funny
Unless you speak Jap how are you going to read the subtitles in the middle of a tight fight?
ENGLISH
>Just wanted to ask for two tips: English or Japanese voices? And should I use Melander C3 G13 immediately?
English for the first playthrough, just so you get to experience Gun-1 Michigan, and Ayre. Japanese on the second playthrough so you can compare. Third for whatever suited your taste better.
Yes, the Melander C3 G13 set is the best armor you'll have for a decent while. Good luck and enjoy the game and your coral waifu Ayre.
The EKDROMOI are the coolest looking things ever and I'm sad we can't use them.
So can you just do the opposite missions in NG+ and have seen everything or does this actually branch much more?
Listing the mechanics of Balteus if anyone wants to add on feel free
>Mass wave homing missiles grouped in 2 segments
>Shotguns
>Machine guns
>Melee Kick
>Shield Pulse
>Heavy homing missile
>Normal homing missiles
>Sword melee attack
>Flaming sword melee attack that leaves area on fire giving damage over time.
He also does the supernova vomit that does 7k damage
do i get it right that due to ng+ missions and decision missions it's literally impossible to S rank everything until further playthroughs?
Yes, you need to play through the campaign 3 times in order to be able to S rank everything
Are there any other in-mission decisions than attack the dam complex in ng+ and eliminate v.vii I think takes some special condition to trigger?
>NG+
when do I get new stuff
do logs
keep playing
explore
Michigan was the best character
>Take the mission the kill him
>He's just banting with his own troops
>He also hypes you as the most dangerous motherfricker there besides him
It makes up for the mission being hard as balls with no payoff otherwise
>no payoff otherwise
doesn't it have a huge credit payoff? also it was really fun. I played it NG+ though so i had better equipment
You don't really need a lot of credits.
Unless you're that one baboon that managed to go negative
>go negative
holy shit that's possible?
Did it twice by now 🙂
play so bad and fire 400,000$ worth of money every 12 seconds yes you can actually get charged instead of getting paid at the end of a mission.
I didn't know either, the mission rewards seem way in excess of my ammo and repair costs. Guess assault rifles are good for something.
GUESS OUR "GOOD FOR NOTHING" IS "GOOD FOR SOMETHING"
Do you still become a superhuman once you reach negative 50K credits?
Only one way to find out!
You're already this game's version of H+ anon.
But can we go deeper?
You do if you want to buy a lot of things so you can experiment smoothly in the training room rather than backing out, selling parts and buying others, then going back in. Also (more relevant to NG) if you hit a boss that borderline requires the use of a certain weapon you don't have, it sucks to have to replay the whole mission because you had to back out to buy it.
>You can go negative credits if you spam too much
I'm so fricked
Anon, as long as you don't fire double miniguns for the entirety of the level while songbirding the air, you'll probably be fine.
>doesn't it have a huge credit payoff?
That's from the bounty he put on his own head.
>Both endings involve betraying a cool character
B-but I don't want to
I like Walter
And I like Ayre
Better work om that true ending, anon
I've never seen aurora or the laser drones hit anybody
i remember this one time i was bothering my cat laying in bed and i felt this sharp pain on my head (he bit me) and i looked up and he was giving me this EXACT look. There's this mix of nervousness and resoluteness all at once.
I haven't played a modern From game at all (my last was Last Raven), are they a developer that releases game balance patches?
4A had some wild ass patches that changed how the whole game would play like but I don't know they would handle AC game now with patches/regulations
>fire missiles at boss
>boss proceeds to go full breakdance mode and dodges 90% of them
cool
Fire the missile pods one at a time.
>Bandai has both Armored Core and Gundam
>none of the Gundam games are this good
Crossover when?
>a Gundam game that controls like this
>parts aren't really a thing, maybe some weapons can be changed
>in return lots of different units to use
UNF TAKE MY MONEY
thoughts on laser rifles?
I like the idea but the execution is weird or I'm not high enough IQ for it.
Really good if you're high IQ to use them properly
how do you use them effectively?
Pretty good. I run midrange build with them, plasma missiles and laser drones. I think laser rifles are my fave after minigun/shotgun/nade launcher shit
great damage not the best stagger charge shots can be scary looks cool
Fantastic for normal missions, killing MTs, and fighting ACs. Good range, good fire rate, good damage, tons of ammo, low ammo cost. Charged shots are handy, as is being able to rapid fire. Only downside is the pretty low impact and direct hit modifier.
Pretty awful for the bigger bosses like Balteus, Sea Spider, or Ibis.
I'm on my second playthrough and what the frick, there are new choices?
the RLF told me that they'll pay me more if I betray the redguns so I did , this didn't happen in my first run, did it?
NG+ exclusive
yeah thanks, I thought I hallucinated for a sec, damn this is more replayable than I thought
>this didn't happen in my first run, did it?
it did not
