yes just to witness how far it went down. its truly something every real avgn fan should experience just for 'the frick of it'. its honestly baffling how mashed together and bad it is.
the movie just fricking blows, there's a role that seems to be obviously written for warshaw but it's a random guy instead and there are a black dude and a girl that feel like the two nostalgia critic guys.
You could feel james getting giddy at directing an old school kaiju fight scene but aside from that and warshaw cameo there's nothing of worth in it.
AVGN was the two of them, and it only came to light because of years of morons screaming how much they hated Mike. Not James coming out and saying "hey this guy is responsible for 50% of the show so lay off"
One of the people that worked on Action 52 commented on that video and on his channel theres an unaired commercial for it. Says in the comments the reason why it came out so shitty was a combination of time constraints and the programmers basically having no ideas so they just made a bunch of space shooters.

Watched the first and second parts of the 200th episode there, the grass or turf joke made me laugh at first and then he did that thing of building up towards obnoxious loud shouting and ruined it.

Speaking of I'm sure that some of the episodes aren't the originals on there, I specifically remember a bit from the Rambo episode where a clip of Rambo in prison from the movie is shown, not being included. I assume it's because the drive videos are ripped from one of the dvd's which removed some of that stuff due to copyright?

Two projects Mike had a lot of input into. Then you have Board James Season 3 were it was James mostly on his own and he ruined it with all his gay lore. The two of them together are great, on their own they've both had their fair share of turkeys.
I'm surprised he made it, felt like a huge coincidence to me that it's the first time he really looked at arcade games and Taito is by far my favourite arcade game manufacturer.
It's a fun episode to watch if only because he's talking about some of my favourite games, but sometimes I can't believe how quickly he glosses over stuff. There was barely anything on Metal Black when it's one of the most fascinating shooters I know. Also, he teased the Bubble Bobble games, and I do really hope an episode on that is in the works. A bit shameful but that 5 minute Pat special on the NES Bubble Bobble is one of my most rewatched AVGN videos.

The older episodes have aged like wine for the most part, which is extremely unusual for mid-00s YouTube videos. Try watching shit like Nostalgia Critic nowadays. Most of the new episodes are more miss than hit, but he still has some gems sometimes. James has been complaining for years and years he doesn't have time to work on his projects. He's had the Screenwave Slobs to do all the work, as mediocre as it gets (don't start me on this), and yet he claims he doesn't have enough time to not only complete personnal/professionnal projects, he also claims he doesn't want to start new things, because as he claims, it's not worth the time investment.
My wild guess?
He is living large. Larger than Justin's shadow on a sunny beach. He is also basically retired like Mike, but he want's to keep the image and the idea that he needs our support or else he'll suffer. As it's been proven many many times, James is good at something on camera: deceiving his audience. He still pretend he cares about the franchise, because that is what's keeping it alive. He maintains his statue quo with the vast population by claiming he needs help, as provided by the Screenwave Slobs, when he checked out years ago.

I'm surprised he made it, felt like a huge coincidence to me that it's the first time he really looked at arcade games and Taito is by far my favourite arcade game manufacturer.
It's a fun episode to watch if only because he's talking about some of my favourite games, but sometimes I can't believe how quickly he glosses over stuff. There was barely anything on Metal Black when it's one of the most fascinating shooters I know. Also, he teased the Bubble Bobble games, and I do really hope an episode on that is in the works. A bit shameful but that 5 minute Pat special on the NES Bubble Bobble is one of my most rewatched AVGN videos.

The older episodes have aged like wine for the most part, which is extremely unusual for mid-00s YouTube videos. Try watching shit like Nostalgia Critic nowadays. Most of the new episodes are more miss than hit, but he still has some gems sometimes. As it's been proven many many times, James is good at something on camera: deceiving his audience. He still pretend he cares about the franchise, because that is what's keeping it alive. He maintains his statue quo with the vast population by claiming he needs help, as provided by the Screenwave Slobs, when he checked out years ago.
We will never, EVER, see James with the initiative he once had to drive the channel to further horizons. As long as he has enough money to not be actually working anymore, he will keep pretending to care.
