Why are these the only generals allowed on Ganker?
Looks like someone doesn't play Yu-Gi-Oh or big booby gacha.
There have been hourly generals for Elden Ring for months here since it came out
Nothing is forcing you to post here and you can easily filter these threads
But of course your tendie handled mind can't fathom that
Kek tendies are busy now doomposting Dead Space threads
They even called Star Ocean 6 shill threads just for having a few threads
Did those ER threads have a link to the new deck thread when the old one was dying out or hit bump limit? Because I don't recall seeing that, but I do see that happening in every deck thread.
Hey its that schizo who blames all the shitposting on this board to Nintendo fans.
>Thinking Eldenchads are going to support you, schizo tendie, after shitting on ER threads too
>tfw playing The Myst before sleeping
? I barely see people linking the next thread, though when I make some I see some homosexual linking the thread, I assume so it gets deleted, but mods can pretty much see when the OP links the threads and when some homosexual is trying to get the threads closed
>daily elden ring, zelda, jas, deltatroon, gacha, switch, cyberpunk, etc. thread
>buh muh deck general
You see only what you want to. Just get a deck already and be happy.
you forgot the religiously created shill threads for unpopular games like Saints Row and Monster Hunter Rise which abruptly stop all discussion one month after their release
Far Cry 2 plays like it was made for the Deck, anyone else given it a go?
How did nintendo manage to make masterpiece after masterpiece like that?
Literally nobody but them seems to make good games anymore...
This.
Their innovation and polish always manages to surprise and delight.
Any other games you guys would recommend playing?
Nah, anything made by nintendo is a masterpiece.
The rest isn't worth looking at.
Yeah I meant nintendo games you think are particularly above and beyond
all of them.
Easy.
No idea, but there is just something about their games.
Maybe it's the sheer amount of soul
10 year old detected
I'm playing Outer Wilds and checking out the Steam demo fest. Taking a break from DDS1+2 and SMTV
FTL is great, the trackpads make it comfy as frick and easy to aim beam weapons
Weapons are trash, use boarding actions to loot every ship.
What about controlling your crew? Seems like lack of a mouse would really frick that up.
Touchscreen
>beat any games lately
Not recently, no. Currently on chapter 7 of Valkyrie Profile though, should be done with it soon
>steam next fest
I added the following to wishlist (based on other anons' posts, there's too many demos to feasibly play through all of them)
>Dredge
>The Entropy Centre
>Decarnation
>Deadeye Deepfake Simulacrum (unplayable on the Deck, as you need to use the keyboard frequently)
I just bought the deck (took 2 weeks after preorder)
when can I expect it to come?
7-14 days
Getting close to beating Half Life 2. I'm almost at the Citadel
I JUST DON'T GET IT
I JUST DON'T
How's Ace Combat 7 on it? Seems to be pretty much the perfect device to run it on.
it works fine, runs the fans pretty loud is all.
>perfect device
>no HOTAS
I think I remember running it as a benchmark when I first got my Deck, it was pretty good
it was literally the first game I tried but I was disappointed with how much power it ate for how it looked. I had the same disappointment trying to run nioh.
see if using the TDP limiter in the steam overlay helps with the power draw. just put it 1 notch above before you start to see performance dips. in most cases for native pc games you can get like +30 minutes of battery life for free
Some games run like shit no matter what you do. I can get excellent performance out of RE engine games with a little bit of tinkering, but the games I mentioned run and feel like shit and have 2 hour battery.
yeah i know nioh is definitely one of the shittier ones, damn shame
>perfect device
>flight simulator
>no flightstick support
>how is it
You tell me.

Almost finished with my Fallout 3 playthrough. I can’t believe how bad the DLC has aged. Anchorage is abysmal and Broken Steel is mind numbingly tedious.
What’s the best racing game on Deck? Don’t want to pay for a Forza Horizon game.
F-Zero GX is pretty good, though Super Tux Kart is better
my F-zero gx use to run flawlessly but after dolphin, plug-in loader and power tools all updated, I get random crashes occasionally. Turning on v-sync helped a bit but not much. Any tips?
is it crashing while playing the game or from opening quick access/steam menu?
most of my crashes come from opening either of these during like a game loading or something, just need to be more patient in most cases
just random crashes, I think while a lot of things are going on since I'm playing on higher difficulty with the cpu's all boosting or if a lot of collisions are happening, but it really just feels random. Even during navigating f zeroes menu I get random crashes.
I should also mention, it's not hard Steam Deck crashes but emulator crashes where it pauses and resets the emulator.
can you describe your settings more for both the steam overlay and powertools?
GPU/CPU/threads/TDP etc.
I caught this right at a small frame dip it does before it possibly crashes. My power tool settings, I used to run 4 cpu threads with no issue so thats what i've been doing, been cycling between 3 and 4 threads in desperation. I also turned on Frequency limits on the gpu clock, minimum Mhz at 900, max 1600. Also, turned on V-sync in dolphin. I'm gonna see if I can catch a screenshot when it crashes but it might have to wait until tomorrow, I have work in the morning
yea your GPU clock isn't locked in this screengrab, you want to lock the GPU at 1300 or 1600
cheers dude, Just ran Ordeal and it's running much better with no crashes. I wasn't setting an F-zero gx profile for performance settings, I just ran default and messed with powertools. I still got like one quick frame drop during the race that might of come from master cpu's boosting all together or something. Thanks buddy
well idk if you are still here but these are my recommended settings for f-zero gx
i just played through 4/5 maps in expert grand prix and got no crashes and performance felt great
it might be a dumb question but are you accidentally pressing start and select at the same time? that is the hotkey that emudeck creates to close out of a game.
>chink ssd went from being stuck in customs to being in a city that's like 4 hours away
>deck is supposedly arriving tomorrow
>FedEx website still says it's in Carol Stream,IL
Don't believe fedex's lies unless you're really close to IL. It takes a bit for their estimated date to update.
Which chink ssd did you buy? I've been looking for a cheap one.
>Which chink ssd did you buy?
A 512gb from ebay, it was from a chink with the user name Steventom(something I forgot the rest). He's one of the few selling this type of SSDs on ebay so you'll find him easily. I'm waiting for my shit to arrive to install it and run some diagnostics on it and if they're good then I'll recommend him to everyone in these threads.
>>deck is supposedly arriving tomorrow
website still says it's in Carol Stream,IL
Same here. Frick FedEx. How am I supposed to protect my purchases from porch pirates like this?
Mine finally got to Maryland after 4 days of being stuck in Illinois.
Fedex is the absolute fricking worst service, Amazon deserves all the money they get.
>delivery pending
How fricked am I?
>pending
RIP
From what I heard this usually means someone stole your shit, which means 2 weeks waiting to be able to report it to steam followed by at least 2 more weeks for it to once again be delivered. Unless it gets stolen again, after all steam will send it from the exact same service once again.
It went delivery on the 6th to delivery on the 3 to pending. It never made it out of Illinois.
There are some horror stories ofn Reddit of people getting their shit stolen 3+ times till they got tired of this shit and called FedEx and ended up having to drive to pick their deck up from one of their warehouses. One guy said he drove 2 hours cause he was tired of having to contact valve for a replacement only for the same shit to happen over and over.
>getting their shit stolen 3+ times
kek I wonder what states those people live in.
The thefts are bad, but let's remember it's a small percentage of the population. Of 1228 people surveyed who purchased a steam deck, 30 people had delivery issues and zero had them stolen.
>Only 15% of Deck owners use it for emulation
I got my joycons to work on the Deck and playing Wii games on it has been a blast. Especially pic related
>mfw I stole another anon's Deck
Saddest thing is that at most the guy will just be fired, no jail time. Even the firing thing is up in the air depending on how desperate they are for drivers.
I work at a FedEx Ground shipping center and we hire literally anyone that moves. There's Black folk everywhere and the parking lot smells like weed every morning. The drivers are contractors so not directly employed by FedEx but the contractors also have the same philosophy because I know they hire literal felons
What the policy of warehouse workers listening to ear buds while working?
Ear buds and phones are supposed to be banned nowadays. Doesn't stop Black folk from trying to sneak them in either by hiding them in their bags or empty chip bags or coming through the docking gates instead of the metal detector entrance. Honestly it's a wonder that more Decks don't show up fricked with how we handle packages. The trailers are two-tiered with a bottom and top half but the packages aren't sorted at all which means your Deck could be crushed underneath some big ass furniture. And then by the nature of how packages come down the belt could easily just be thrown in a truck along with 10 other packages depending if the loader is overwhelmed or not.
Damn. I'd kill for a job where I could listen to audiobooks or podcasts while working. College was a mistake, I'm fricking miserable.
I work at a grocery store where 90% of the time I'm in the back processing scanouts. I just started bringing my airpods in and watching youtube during it and not a single person gives a frick and management rarely ever even visits my department. Comfy as frick.
My job is literally just watching videos all day and applying the appropriate tags if they violate any policies and you'd think that would be chill but you have to do X amount of videos an hour and be 95% accurate every month and be watch them super fast and im miserable and i want to blow my brains out instead of working this job but it pays the bills. I'd kill for a job where I could just be let alone and listen to stuff.
Write a script and automate it to be within 95% accuracy then. Repetitive tasks are meant to be automated.
huh? how would that help me at all i can't write a script for a company computer and how would i teach it to recognize when any of the thousand videos a day i have to watch has something against the rules in it?
Time to learn python and how to use an AI for image recognition. That or you need to leave your boomer job, I bet that company is held back with anachronistic policies going back to the 80s.
I was wondering just last night what the best console to play Harry Potter games on would be.
Anon you can get any entry level data entry job and have your dreams come true. A good deal of them are WFH now too
i learned japanese this way
listening to educational podcasts and audified anime
had to work an absolute sweatshop job for years however
>metal detector entrance
Seriously? For a shipping warehouse?
Did he ever get his Deck back?
Valve will just send you another one, but you run the risk of the same shit happening once again.
IT JUST GOT UPDATED ITS INSIDE MY STATE ITS COMING TOMORROW!
WAGMI BROS!
Let's fricking go, I am so ready to browse Ganker on my Steam Deck and come on this thread so I can talk about the steam deck.
Congrats bro
Thank you anon.
i hope we get to the point these threads are no longer 90% fedex posts
I noticed Cave story and kero blaster both don't take sync saves from pc to deck. Anyone had the same problem?
>usb c hub came 2 days ago
>cleared off an old micro SD card to use for game storage
>still sitting at "Packaged Items"
>tried to open my Deck for repairs
>using the same screw I used to unscrew the first 7, I stripped the 8th
3 of my decks screws stripped and I gave up trying to get them out, ended up ripping open the deck by force and cracked the back a bit. still works tho
For future reference to any any Anons wishing to open their decks, you will see guides telling you to use a size 0 phillips-head. This is false. A size 1 works much better. Use firm pressure straight down and go slow, the screws they use are very soft.
>repairs
Wtf did you do?
My dumbass left my Steam Deck in the hands of a woman. I emulated Simpsons Road Rage because it was one of her favorite games as a kid and I let her play it. She dropped it and now my R1 button only works half the time.
Which version of Road Rage emulates best? I guess there's the abandon-ware PC version but no idea how it would run.
>Which version of Road Rage emulates best?
For any gen 6 multiplats Gamecube is always the safest bet.
Cheers anon. Still just playing steam backlog but that might be the first thing I start worrying about emulation.
This is why I paid the premium for the ifixit ones
Would there be less shitposting in these threads if more Anons were able to convey their opinions like that? I agree that the Deck is better than the Switch, but that sentiment can be expressed without shitting on the people that like the Switch. It's not about the Switch itself, but shitposters attacking anyone who may prefer one piece of plastic over the other. Hell, there would be a lot less shitposting on Ganker if Anons learned how to say that they like a game or platform without shitting on those who happen to like another system or platform.
Personally, I respect the Switch for proving that the demand for a system that can function as a handheld and console is greater than the demand for another boring console. Consoles bore me because they haven't changed since the PS3/360 whereas portables are more exciting and there's a lot more growth in that area. The Deck is the next step in the Switch's design philosophy.
'eck on 'ick threads should be the new generals
any recs for multiplayer deck friendly games? I’m aware of alien fireteam elite and apex legends
Warframe, Lost Ark, Monster Hunter Rise, any fighter other than SFV since that runs badly. Anything with crossplay on consoles as you'll be playing on an equal level with the console guys.
Lost ark works? It says unsupported on the store page
Terraria.
sniper elite 4
Is hotswapping SD cards safe?
What the nicest way to label SD cards?
>What the nicest way to label SD cards?
I just number the SD card adapters with a magic marker and keep the contents listed on an index card
You shouldn't remove a micro-sd card (or any memory card for that matter) while it's being written to or it can frick up the file listings.
How easy is it to use GOG installers on the deck? Gonna go borrow a few from the seven seas of stuff I'm too cheap to buy.
I'll never buy a deck because I can't buy one on a whim for msrp. Same with PS5.
Just bought a 6750 XT instead for $612 Canadian (around 450 USD)
>I'll never buy a deck because I can't buy one on a whim for msrp.
Nobody tell him
I'd assume they mean they can't drive down to a store. Even with the end of the wait list, getting a Steam Deck still takes 2-3 weeks from when you place the reservation.
That's due to the shipping structure. Honestly Valve needs to negotiate for more shipping options so impatient people can just pay for faster shipping.
So they don't have wait times now? Why the reservation bullshit to turn away customers?
>So they don't have wait times now?
They do but at worst they're like a fricking week now.
Probably because they'll have wait lists again closer to Christmas.
there's still a backlog but the wait time is so low that even leddit expired its data tracking website and tools
also you will be able to buy decks off the shelves in stores soontm
With X-mas in two months, scalpers are going to have a field day for any steam decks in stores.
>reservation bullshit to turn away customers?
The deck was released when scalping was rampant, the reservation system was made to make sure that decks were being sold to actual users instead of some chink who was only gonna put them up on ebay for the highest bidder.
Guess I'll buy one then
I reserved mine Sunday and got the email Monday. It doesn't take that long now. I read they're going to make it available without reservation in less than a week.
>because I can't buy one on a whim for msrp
Sorry you live in one of the countries it's not sold in
>bought a 6750 XT instead for $612 Canadian
>Canadian
Pretty sure you can buy one anon

After putting some more ROMs on my 1TB microsd card, it now shows that it has 16.1TB free in storage. Everything is functioning correctly, except that it shows the wrong amount of space available. Is it fricked and I should format it, or is there an easy fix?
It sounds like you got a counterfeit sd card, where they edited the cards controller to report false information to the computer.
1. Make a backup of everything on your sd card
2. Copy a ton of videos, images, music, whatever to your sd card, until it's full
3. Try to play/read a bunch of the media files, both ones that were put on early and those that were put on late. If any of the media files don't play properly, this means the memory controller on the sd card is just overwriting stuff and misreporting to the computer.
It's not a counterfeit, I've filled it up with like 900gb of games and they all work properly, it's just that it recently started showing that there is 16.1 tb of free space, even though I know that there is actually around 50gb left.
Kino
Aight, I'm sold. Now I need to find a foolproof way to book it abroad and then get it sent to Russia somehow.
oh frick, the sims 2 works now? it was a real problem like a year ago
I really want to play a Sims game on the go but I don't know how to deal with Wine or Lutris since I'm a Linux newbie so all I did was download the Sims games that were on the PS2
Steam Deck box advertises what it is on the outside, basically begging people to steal it. I wouldn't trust buying a steam deck if I couldn't easily get another one mailed from valve in case something happens to it.
>Steam deck box advertises what it is on the outside, basically begging people to steal it.
This is their dumbest decision, they've changed the packaging a little but it still has valve shit all over it. They should put a plain outer box around it with a different shape.
Whats a good USB c hub and is it mostly just for keyboard and mouse?
Steam Deck has bluetooth, so you don't actually need a hub for keyboard and mouse.
You'll want a usb-c hub with a usb-c charger, ethernet, hdmi, and 2 or more regular usb ports.
https://rentry.org/deckbeard#dock
http://sabrent.com/collections/usb-c-hubs/products/hb-tc5p
This one's cheap with HDMI and 3 USB ports. Anything else is overkill unless you want Ethernet as well or something.
That drive you posted doesn't allow for charging while using the usb hub. Plus the Steam Deck would end up powering the keyboard, mouse, and whatever else is plugged into it, further killing the deck's shitty battery.
>Power Delivery (60 Watts)
you just plug the deck charger into the usb-c slot on the hub, anon.
>Upgrade your workspace with one additional USB 3.0 Type-A port with up to 5Gbps transfer speeds ensuring quick syncing and file sharing. Two additional USB 2.0 Type-A expansion ports are also built-in
Maybe I'm fricking blind
why are you continuing to make yourself look like a moron when you can literally spend 3 seconds googling or taking a second to think
the usb-c is right there in the image, the tiniest port near the end
i have the hub myself and can confirm you can charge the deck
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08V3PHKR8
I just called myself blind, how is that making myself more of a moron?
This is basically just like the official valve dock they are making but without a fancy stand correct?
>That drive you posted doesn't allow for charging while using the usb hub
anon it has USB C passthrough right there
the USB C port is literally solely there for power, dumbass
God it works so flawlessly compared to my PC.
Anyone tried Deadspace for the deck yet? How's it run? Any other spooky titles good for the deck for October?
runs fine. i think the half rate shading thing fricks up the distant framerate perception, though.
Tempted to subscribe just to get Deathloop on the cheap.
Is humble bundle subscription and Deathloop worth it?
death loop is interesting mechanically but multiplayer matchmaking is dicey (and probably dead now) and once you beat the game once (ie solve the puzzle) you have 0 reason to replay it
for 12 bucks it might be okay, and the multiplayer will be deader if you wait so it's not like I can 100% say just wait for a sale
Would you be into a Dishonored with less content and less stealth?
you'll get people selling keys for it for even cheaper, just wait a day or two
Is there a good place ot fine people selling humble keys?
he means keysites
https://gg.deals/game/deathloop/
Usually people offload humble stuff on >reddit all the time
if not just check G2A, just make sure to buy from a seller with good feedback
Where on reddit?
SteamGameSwap
forget if you need some gay verification shit or something to buy since I've only ever bought a few keys but worth a try
Do not buy from G2A it's too risky, try CD Keys or Eneba they have good prices and are way more genuine
>Do not buy from G2A it's too risky
that's only if you're moronic and buy from sellers with shitty feedback, I've bought games from there for years when they were the cheapest there no problem
Why would you want this shit? It's not even worth pirating
this is usually a sign that the game will be even cheaper during the next big steam sale on 11/22, humble never gets good deals
>humble never gets good deals
Crash and Spyro + CoD was pretty fricking good. Spyro's PC port was only like a month old too.
does Sims 4 work on the Deck?
Anyone else have the 1st world problem of too much shit to play? Its difficult to start a new game because they are so fricking long that I feel I will not finish it and/or feel like I am missing out on others games.
I've had the Deck for a little over 2 weeks and the most I have completed of a single game is getting midway through Conker's Bad Fur Day. I got bored with DQ11 4-5 hours in and got through the tutorial shit in FF12. There are even some games that I know I will enjoy and put off playing because they will make others look like shit in comparison.
>conker bfd
You mean love and reloaded right?
praying that it gets through customs without issues
I didn't have any issues at customs
Also I'm going to drive up to Amherstburg and wait in the bushes for the driver and
make sure he doesn't steal your deck while you're gone
thanks fren
can't trust fedex
Jesus the the queues are insanely quick now. A friend of mine ordered a 64gb last week and instantly got an email a few days later. Makes me a bit pissy as someone who waited for a year for this damn thing but whatever.
Valve is very lucky they caught up to the orders just as Black Friday/Christmas comes roling by.
>Valve is very lucky they caught up to the orders just as Black Friday/Christmas comes roling by.
if they can meet holiday demand the deck could sit at a pretty 2 million sales come early 2023
and if they expand to more regions then 3 million by the end of next year would be an easy shot
Anyone know why my Yuzu shortcuts aren't booting directly from the shortcut? It does boot to the emulator
Here is my launch options:
Target
>"/run/media/mmcblk0p1/Emulation/tools/launchers/yuzu.sh" -f -g "'/run/media/mmcblk0p1/Emulation/roms/switch/13 sentinels.nsp'" (for some reason on the second line there's a ' before the ")
Start in
>/run/media/mmcblk0p1/Emulation/tools/launchers
For some reason it's not booting straight to the game
1) don't use the yuzu emudeck sets you up with (aka the flatpak). you want the EA auto updating appimage found here:
pineappleea.github.io/
1.5) it's annoying but this means you will need to manually add the (superior) EA app image as a non-steam game, rename it as the game you want, modify it to boot directly into game for each switch game, and then re-grab library assets from grid.db for the game in question
2. that ' you are wondering about needs to be removed, see pic for the correct target line (jp version of 13 sentinels)
Thanks anon. I'll just copy everything before the nsp thing too.
I doubt you're still here anon but how would I go about transferring my save file too?
are you sure you need to transfer?
it seems like they share the same directories. when i rightclick on a game in the EA build and open save folder it errors out but you can manually navigate to the location
under removable devices click 'primary'
emulation > storage > yuzu > nand > user > save > 0000000000 > BC5E8821... (this might be different for you, just check the error mesage)
after that you just click the folder that matches up with your dump and what you need should be there.
https://lmgtfy.app/?q=Yuzu+save+file+location
Hey anon, wondering if you could assist with the code to run the virtual boy emulator through Retroarch. This is what I have but it doesn't seem to like it:
"usr/bin/flatpak" run org.libertro.Retroarch -L /beetlevb_libertro.so "run/media/mmcblkOp1/Emulation/roms/virtualboy/Jack Bros. (USA).vb"
START IN
"/usr/bin/"
Disregard, I named the libertro.so core incorrectly
maybe share with us how you got freelancer working?
Yeah, I've tried all the battery reset tricks now and the conclusion is that I'm still losing about 0.2 - 0.3 wH of maximum battery capacity per charge cycle.
Yep. That's a RIP.
Thank god you bought it from valve and it's under warranty. Right?
Yeh.
But other than the battery this is a prime unit with all the good components so RMAing means getting a certain downgrade, whiny fan or etc. And sending things back and forth will get it stolen by a FedEx driver sooner or later.
I guess I'll just wait until the battery is dead and then I'll take it to a professional or something. A good opportunity to slap in those gulikits and a new SSD too.
>$3.79 for NANOMACHINES, SON
Of course, I copped that shit
Can't find it.
see
Is there a good dock you guys recommend? Something that is just simple plug n play.
read above for the sabrent one
>"Stop playing your shit deck, randy, and get me a drinky poo"
"Mr. LAHEY RICKY IS OUT OF JAIL AND GROWING DOPE AGAIN"
look like a blowfish
so does fedex only ship steamdecks? or is it a diffirent delivery system for diffirent states?
>so does fedex only ship steamdecks?
No man, they ship a lot of different stuff. Anyone can use their services
USA and Canada are FedEx. Europe is also some shit rate shipping company.
Anyone try getting tamriel rebuilt on their deck? I got openMW fine but I'm intimidated by modding on Linux since I've only done it on windows
Maybe...maybe I should install windows...
windows has its perks on deck
xbox games pass, xbox 360 (xenia) emulator, games with anti-cheat etc.
Wow you just listed several services that totally make me want to install windows! Subscription game service? A shitbox emulator? Exploitable multiplayer malware? Yes please!
xbox 360 emulator literally only works on windows atm and it runs games pretty great so yeah i'd say that is a motivating factor
you act like you can't dual boot.
OP, how's FH4 on deck? Frame rate and all?
I wish more people would start posting their settings and the proton version they're using when talking about games they've installed. Even on protondb a lot of times people will just post a thumbs up and "works great."
Did you download protonGE? that's a good catch-all for games that don't immediately boot
Yeah, I did, didn't realize you could just use it for everything
60 seconds on Google will get you to a website that'll give you exactly what you're looking for
Not really, there's not much info out there on older games like Medal of Honor, maybe because the deck is still so new?
If this thing doesn't just suck to hold in your hands, it will be the last cent I spend on gaming. I will never need anything else.

It actually feels great to hold. The only problem is when I'm lying down in bed to use it. I have to put a pillow on my tummy to rest it on so I'm not constantly holding it up
How do limp wrist pussies function at all?
Not my fault I was born with tiny baby wrists
Lifting weights would have solved this issue years ago
I'm poor and I spent all my youth hauling cement bags for my uncle and my wrists are still tiny.
Sorry dad
Do you need a steam account if you just want to use the steam deck for emulation?
You need a used steam account to actually buy it, due to anti-scalper measures taken by valve.
Yes.
It's over, consolebros.
Thinking about buying a deck but.
1. Whats the best sd card to get.
2. Is there a deck available yet? If not an official one then the next best thing.
3. I'm seeing people on ebay with wooden covers, better Dpad and ring things around the analog sticks. Were do I get this stuff from.
4. How easy is it to tell the deck to put the shaders onto the sd card?
1. https://rentry.org/deckbeard#sd-cards
either evo select 512 for best random write/reads or sandisc extreme 1tb for best volume
2. no official dock yet
https://rentry.org/deckbeard#dock
3. dbrand skins, they're overpriced dogshit. analog stick covers are just xbox 360 shit im pretty sure, google dude.
4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxyHGLRWV6A
So is the SanDisk Ultra Micro SD 120mb card not as good as the evo one? I'm seeing the evo is 130mb whilst the sandisk is 120mb
The price for a card is almost 90-100 bucks just for 512gb
The 512GB Samsung EVO is only $59 right now

bro do you know how to read a chart? i have no idea what numbers you are referencing here.
top part (youtube screengrab) is the read/write speeds
bottom part is the *random* read/write speeds, which occur while you are playing games

https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07P9W5HJV
if you buy the 1TB one yes it is considerably more money, not worth buying unless its on sale or you really can't be arsed to use more than 1 sd card
512 evo select is the best overall for price and performance.
Literally just Google this shit. I can almost guarantee there is 1 YouTube video that will answer all your questions. Or, look in previous threads
Wonder if the deck will get a black friday sale?
Why the frick would it?
will uncharted 4 work when it comes out?
Does anyone know how well Fable: TLC runs on the Deck? Proton DB only has PC listings. I know the anniversary HD version is verified but I want to save battery and play the better older version
These threads are such obvious shill threads at this point that it's funny
ah yes, a paid shill for the 2005 PC version of Fable: The Lost Chapters
Without the phallus on deck poster, these threads are pretty much dead. This thread has been up for seven hours and the only reason it hasn't archived is because they keep necrobumping it.
Unfortunately, Deck owners might be ill suited for this board.
They're playing videogames.
>looks at
Hey I doubt it!
pic related.
Trying out games is still playing games.
And even if it wasn't why do people even care? It's not like doomposting or spamming fanarts is any better
>cringe meme
>defensive
Ah yes, keep confirming you are a seething tendie
>tendies cant accept people liking other things
how is emulation? I have a beefy ass PC so any AAA slop would be played on that, so I only really would use it for emulation and smaller/retro PC games.
Great for anything PS2/Gamecube/etc. and below, YMMV on anything newer
What saturn emulator is being used since saturn emulation is so shitty
if you set it up through emudeck, the default parser uses the Yabause core, but you can manually swap to either YabaSanshiro/Beetle/Kronos if needed. (I'm using YabaSanshiro for Grandia due to cinematic glitches but everything else i've tired has been fine on Yabause)
name a game, i suspect you aren't using the yuzu EA app image + powertools to the best of your ability.
i admit xenoblade chronicles 3 and splatoon 3 do not run great right now in advance. the other games i've had issues with are like random shitty VNs and some shmups but otherwise its been great.
Yabause is seriously outdated though. It gets updated now by a different team and is uoyabause but the emulation is still shitty with its biggest problem being the glitch were bgm/sfx mess up and the emulator crashes and you then need to open task manager to fix it
To throw my two cents in, I was messing with Yabause core in Retroarch and it wouldn't play music in the games I tried. That sounds like the glitch you're describing. I got tired of trying to tweak it so I switched to Beetle and it works alright.
Does Mario odyssey run well, the city and jungle levels made my fps drop to the 10s on my gtx 1060 6gb
I have over 100 hours on Odyssey on Deck.
>streamed from pc
*yawn*
Cope
Yes, but does it run well? All the videos I see only show the first level.
not that anon but i'll try to grab a dump and test it myself. i didn't even bother since i beat it on switch and hated the game but if its what the people want
Yeah it runs fine
Switch is really a gamble, it depends on the game.
The way I thought of it was I had a list of switch ports I wanted, and when the deck got announced I had all those games on steam and I realized if I just got a deck the potential cost of the ports would run way more than the top tier deck, they would probably run worse and I wouldn't have to wait for them to MAYBE get ported. I made my pre-order first hour, and I've had it since May. It's been great
Just bought KH 1.5 2.5 and Epic Game store download is super slow on the Deck.
Amazing
its been like this for 2 days now. JUST SHIP IT ALREADY YOU LAZY FRICKS
:^)
>has to RMA from sticking buttons + stickdrift + shaking fan + dead pixel + battery failing to charge
many such cases
This is literally unironically a picture of my Steam Deck
are there good alternative storage solutions for the eMMC storage model?
Buy a big SD card or a used m.2 2230 drive and replace it yourself.
I just bought a 1tb mSD card
>only snoy game on GOG is Horizon
I just wanna pirate games I already fricking own and paid 1/6 of the price for
Has anyone tried this weird shit with the deck
>use the decks own power supply to cool it
enjoy your 45 minute battery life
It's for switch too
>use the switch's own power supply to cool it
enjoy your 45 minute battery life
No. I don't really get the whole "my deck is so hot" thing. I've put many hours on my deck since I got it and not once did I feel it was uncomfortably warm.
I love me deck. Do you love ye deck?
I keep looking into things like PS3 emulation, particularly interested in Demon's Souls. The performance looks great and all, but the vids I've seen have the poor thing running at a crispy 80C or more. Is it ok to just straight up run games at 80, sometimes even 90C? It seems to me like thatt would age your deck very quickly.
Wait until the deck 2 because very few ps3 games run at all let alone cool. Like temps are even a subject to discuss. Hot should be your new word of the month.
I was kind of blown away it was possible at all. If I need my fix I can always use my PC. What's a good temp to aim for? Or rather, what's a good temp to start worrying/tinkering?
learn the art of power tools and TDP/GPU control and the truth will set you free
also 80c is perfectly fine operational temperatures for the deck, 90 is definitely pushing it but the deck would thermal throttle before anything actually shit happened
My pc temps have never gone above 70 and that's me pushing it hard. Idle everything is around 30
Is the deck really that bad at ps3 emulation?
How is it with cemu? I kinda wana play xenoblade on it but dunno were to get the roms from and if it struggles with ps3 it has me worried
>but dunno were to get the roms from
you will probably get filtered and shouldn't even bother. most people don't know how to decrypt the dumps that they find and blame it on cemu/deck being shit.
but no, cemu is good.
ps3 is the highest end emulation that it can handle, wii-u is like pre-switch shit, it's not even in the same ballpark
https://greatondeck.net/bayonetta-2-on-steam-deck-cemu-emulator/
https://greatondeck.net/the-legend-of-zelda-wind-waker-hd-on-steam-deck/
How well does bayonetta 2 run on it via cemu? Same for xenoblade chronicles. Those and mario kart 8 are basically all I'd play from the wii u
I want wiiu tekken tag 2 but cant find a rom for it anywhere
>how well does bayo 2
did you even read the post you responded to
I should probably play this before replaying Xenosaga trilogy so I am not disappointed by the lack of everything but visuals.
>dunno where to get the roms from
How are people like this even in this site. Did you even bother going to /vg/?
That's great, but CPU/GPUs can handle 80-85c under load without any issues. I prefer things running cooler too, but it's fine if it's within acceptable bounds.
why did you paste that twice though
steam deckers in the house tonight
what's the best PS1 core in RetroArch?
duckstation
>core
standalone
just install emudeck, you don't have to deal with retroarch
I got my Deck early September and have been loving it so far. Played through Dead Rising 2 for the first time (which plays better on Deck than PC) and I'm currently playing Shadow Tactics in between spurts of Vampire Survivors. I'm also just knocking out various adventure/walking sim type games I've acquired from humble bundles over the years.
My steam library has 141 "great on deck/verified" games. I'm not even touching emulation since I have so much stuff to play.
how do you switch between soft and hardware rendering when emulating ps2 games on the deck?
What controller works best for the deck? I want to play docked and some games need mouse input. I found the steam controller but it’s like $250
360
>I found the steam controller but it’s like $250
You can get one on Ebay for $70-$100.
Alternatively, my preferred PC controller is still a USB Xbox 360 controller, also found on Ebay. If you need to use mouse input you can map one of the joysticks to it (optionally with a button chord) but joystick mouse might not be very comfortable.
Also alternatively, you could "dock" your Steam Deck to a TV with a USB-C extension cable and continue using the Deck as your controller.
>I found the steam controller but it’s like $250
>You can get one on Ebay for $70-$100.
That's so ridiculous. They were literally $5. I should put mine up for sale I've barely used it.
I missed their "going out of production" sale, unfortunately. They're now collector's items.
just get a cheap wired 360/xbone controller if you don't mind wired, my walmart literally sells aftermarket xbone controllers for $10
How much would you pay for one anon? I have 2
$5
>sign up for alerts like that one anon suggested
>all I get is an email telling me the deck is arriving tomorrow
>It still says my deck is in carol stream,IL
I'll be ready tomorrow but I seriously doubt that shit is getting delivered
Can you output from the deck to a television?
any usb type-c hub works, so yea hdmi ouput to a tv
Yeah if you buy a USB C Hub that supports it, you can get cheap ones for $20 like the Sabrent one if you're not looking to get 4K60 out of your Deck for all 2 games that would even run well at that
that thing's going for 12 bucks on amazon right now, it's a steal.
It's mostly for fightan games. I just want to be able to bring it to a buddies place, play some tekken, then make out with his sister
uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah i might wait on that. depends on what game you are playing. i've seen some anons complain about some hubs giving them weird input delay, and valve is still working on updating the docked situation leading up to their official release.
Frick. Guess I'm staying poverty for now, thanks anon.
Hubs work fine, but not all of them. You can find info online about specific brands/models people have tested with the deck, and some Amazon pages for hubs will have people mention Deck compatibility in their reviews.
I haven't had any issues with this, but it's pricier: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08SLS9W72
Also, some modern TVs just have USB-C input now, which means you could plug the Deck in directly. You want to make sure whatever cable you use is rated for the amount of data you'll be pumping through it and is not just a USB-C charging cable, though. I think "USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2" is what you need to look for. Most of those cables list speeds up to 20Gbps.
>you can get cheap ones for $20 like the Sabrent one if you're not looking to get 4K60 out of your Deck
In my experience the cheap ones that don't support 4K60 might have trouble on 4K displays. I think the Deck detects the external resolution and attempts to upscale the image itself and pipe 4K to the hub even if the hub can't handle it.
I tried one of those cheap ones and although it would work on a mediocre 720p TV, I got severe input lag/signal delay on a much larger TV, although a 4K60 Dockteck hub worked fine on the same TV.
Its happening
literally just got that email too
>still at packaged
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABEEEEEE YOU FAT FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Cool, now tell me your local Fedex sorting facility and the hours you are not at home.
I'm always at home anon
>She's ok because she lid
What was it supposed to be
prolly sposed to be lied
but he mad lid now
sbrensbeve?
Which of the three Steam Deck models did you pick, and why?
Only get 64gb. The Middle one has no reason and the big one is too much for anti glare screen.
64gb cause it's the cheapest and I don't care for the anti-glare screen
There's literally no reason to not get the 64gb, you can replace the SSD easily and SD cards are pretty reasonably priced for something like a 512gb
512 because i pre-ordered day 1 a year ago before it was known the ssd could be swapped
and a 64gb because it is objectively the best version of the deck
Can I trade you my case for the 512gb one. I like the blue
>64gb because it is objectively the best version of the deck
I'm guessing the right side of the top image is the 64GB? Why does the "anti glare" screen vomit light all over the screen? What's the fricking point?
I don't think you understand what that image conveys
Nta but in the bottom part of the pic it shows the anti glare deck box in the same spot as the one with smeared light. So that would imply the top left is the anti glare one
It looks to me like it's a 512GB deck and a 64GB or 256GB deck side by side.
Based on anon's endorsement of the 64GB and the positioning of the cases at the bottom, I gather that the one which responds worse to light sources is the 512GB one.
Etched glass sucks. Get a cheaper model and order the OEM 512GB SSD off ifixit
>Etched glass sucks
Hence my first question. What is the point? Why not give it the same glass as the others and just make the storage the only difference between the models?
I don't think the etched glass sucks, but it's hardly worth the price premium to me.
I've compared a 64gb screen with an armorsuit matte screen protector and a 512gb etched glass, and the screen clarity is better, but only marginally.
pic related is my 64gb -->512gb ssd upgraded deck with matte screen protector
Yeah, you don't get it
Explain it to me, then.
No.
i am that anon and yea top is 512 and bottom is 64
i only posted the pic to prove i have 2 decks, but i prefer having the option of having a reflective screen that i can give anti-glare to with a screen protector over etched glass which you cannot apply a screen protector to unless you want to further intensify the anti-aliasing effect.
also the 64's screen is naturally more vibrant without this.
but the main reason why the 64 version is superior is because you can save $200 by replacing the SSD yourself
>having the option of having a reflective screen that i can give anti-glare to with a screen protector
Based on your image, it looks like even doing that would be a downgrade for the 64GB, though.
They both have the same amount of obscured space (the light fixture) but the one with anti-glare additionally has a huge halo of light around that further clouding the screen.
Does anti-glare (in general, not even just with the 512GB's screen) grant a bigger improvement in situations with indirect/smaller light sources?
?t=168
According to FedEx my deck hasn't left Carol Stream, Illinois even tho I paid 8 days ago and got my tracking number 6 days ago.
Etched glass diffuses and reduces light slightly. If you're in an environment with a small light behind you, the anti glare will cause the light to be too faint to be really noticed. If you're in an area with bright light, you'll have a diffused mess all over your screen while the regular glass will act like a mirror showing a perfect image of the light source on your screen. The anti glare also helps prevent you from seeing a reflection of your own face in the screen while playing, or at least reducing it. Not worth the cost though, imho.
>screen on the left has astigmatism
You can literally buy a 512gb 2230 SSD AND a 1tb MicroSD for less than the difference of the 64gb to the 512gb
256gb because i cant be bothered to replace the 64gb one and the 512gb is just too much more for little gain
How does Deus Ex Mankind Divided run?
I saw one video that said it can’t be run even at low, and I saw other vids that had it pretty smooth at 40hz on medium.
it ran fine on my deck at medium settings when I gave it a test run.
Neato. I imagine that’s probably the problem child of performance on the deck(for Deus Ex). Can’t wait to replay the whole series on the Deck.
I'd be more worried about Invisible War, lord knows how proton is gonna handle that.
Can you run the Invisible War Visual Upgrade patch? It made the game stable on my PC. It used to crash all the time. I think it might actually change the game constantly closing and reopening instances every time you change screens.
I haven't tried running it yet, mostly out of fear
give me 10 minutes and I'll tell you how it runs on a steam deck without mods
Alright. Hope it works. Try the patch if it doesn’t though (if such a thing is even possible). It fixes a lot of engine bugs anyway.
Who cares? Invisible War is god awful.
Blow it out your ass.
it rendered everything too dark with stock proton, but with Proton GE it looks fine and loading between levels works flawlessly, so I'd say it works.
tried it again with stock proton and now it renders fine.
Guess that was a fluke.
Where else can i buy this at a reasonable price? Valve doesn't let me buy it from my location.
I know a lot of people don't like 343 but Halo Infinite is one of the few AAA FPS games that work on the Steam Deck (and I'm not a fan of Apex's gameplay). Holy crap playing a chaotic Big Team Battle on a handheld is crazy. Basically a locked 30 fps. It only dips to like 26 when there's a shit ton of grenades going off at once. Stays playable the whole time and I won a few matches on the Deck.
Titanfall 2 (AAA, though not recent) runs completely fine on the Deck, solid 60 fps at all times.
I think my biggest problem with playing FPS on the Deck is that after not having played on console for so long, I have a shit time trying to hit anything with analog sticks, even with aim assist. Halo's pretty much the only FPS I feel comfortable using a controller in, and it's pretty slow-paced compared to most.
Yeah I like the novelty of playing AAA fps on the deck but it feels so awkward and I have trouble hitting shit
>anything good in the steam next fest?
I played DoubleShake and LEGO: Bricktales.
DoubleShake is a fun Klonoa feeling game and it gets my approval of cute brown girl in a fun game. It's a low poly game so I find it very cool cranking up all the crust settings to and feeling like you're playing on a DS or PSP on the Deck.
The lego game was a neat puzzle game where you have to build lego structures to progress. Everything is made out of legos too which just looks very visually appealing.
What dock do you guys use.
ctrl+f motherfricker
Can I get a non-shill and non-nintendie anon to tell me of switch emulation is actually worth it on deck? Particularly xenoblade games since they run like ass on switch
https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/613590993/#q613598994
If you enjoy Xenoblade you are are just as bad as any nintendie, homosexual.
Playing Soma. Good god this is freaky, even on the small screen.
Valkyrie Drive runs like a beaut on the deck
i just need to make a compendium of yuzu settings and performance reports for all the popular tendie games so people stop asking
I would love you forever if you did
make a list of games for me to test and we'll see
i also would like to play games instead of spoonfeeding emulets
just wish there were more anons who knew how to use powertools dick around with settings
Just give us a rough power tools guide and we should post our settings for the games we play. I plan on playing the popular ones to at least see if the hype around them was warranted.
>he puts a screen protector on his screen deck with the anti glare screen
Played through that Enthropy demo. Gotta say I'm fricking tired of UE4 shader compliation stutters.
Game looks worse than Portal 2 but somehow manages to run worse than a source engine game.
>label created on the 4th
>estimated delivery date the 6th
this cant be right
anyone tried running OW2 via Lutris?
how do you play in bed without one of your arms going numb? i cant figure out the right pos
idk just lay on your stomach
back pillow propped up against bedframe
It looks moronic but I use something like this, though not this exact brand. The phone holder part rotates, so just make sure to buy one that holds 11.7 inches or 4.6 inches.
>have to wear the equivalent of an Orthodontic Headgear to be able to play the deck comfortably on a bed
Talk about the Absolute State of deck
How fat are you? Be honest.
bros I'm going full ADHD schizo gamer mode and swapping between all these random games
Touhou, Gauntlet Dark Legacy, Nights Into Dreams, Saturn Bomberman, Metroid Prime, Flicky, Elevator Action, 1942, Wrecking Crew, DBZ BT3, Puzzle Bobble, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Kart, SM64, Terraria, Sonic Adventure, Galaga, Demon's Souls, Super Mario Bros. DX, Panic!, Cruis'n USA, Pixelus, Donkey Kong '94, Sonic Advance, Sewer Shark, Factorio, Slap City, F-Zero GX
it feels so good
You'll get out of that phase eventually.
Far Kino 2
Are you playing it with the new patch?
What patch?
Realism+Redux
Nah
I'm playing it stock
In the launch options in game mode, add "taskset -c 0,2,4 %command%". Taskset tells the process which threads to use, so this limits it to 3 threads.
Power tools kills decks
This. This command literally solves the problem in seconds. Frick power tools.
samegay btw
Yeah, I'm shilling for a launch command. Please buy my line of text
Just got mine today- been about two months since I've played games and part of that reason is I moved and didn't take my desktop.
Screen is bigger than I thought. Played Terraria with a friend for hours, controls are a little rough. Downloading Elden Ring and curious to see the graphics.
Any video suggestions for unlocking this thing? Want to emulate MGS
So even MORE shitbrain normies are going to invade my vidya?
Anyone using the buttons behind? I thought they were shit but I'm actually using L5 a lot for all those games who forces you to press L3 to run
I use L4 for running
I think most people do that. Pressing L3 to run is uncomfortable mostly if you need to keep it pressed ALL the time so the character runs
The Evil Within 2 at least gives you the option to use TEW1 controls where you can use R1 or L1, other games you need to change it
I changed it for RE8, Outlast 2 and that horror train game and man what a fricking change
The back buttons are much, much easier to use if you try pressing into the screen instead of squeezing the grips.
Get yourself some of those textured rubber pads for the back buttons, a set came with a case I ordered so I tried them and they really do make the buttons easier to press even from the sides
where do desktop screencap pictures save?
Been playing fight n rage and sleeping dogs. Both surpassed my expectations and play very well.
REEEEE REEEE WHY ARE THESE THREADS SO LOW QUALITY REEEEEE WHY ARE THESE GENERALS ALLOWED REEEEEEEEEEE THIS THREAD SHOULD BE ANOTHER SAMUS ZELDA FANARTS CIRCLEJERK AAAAAAAAH
I beat Downwell, then I gave Spelunky a go, I unlocked all the shortcuts but haven't managed to kill Olmec yet. I've also heard there's a Hell level you can get to as well, but one thing at a time.
I've also been playing Atelier Ryza, Tetris Effect, Ape Out, and a little bit of Hyper Light Drifter, but I already played that to death
How hot does it get when pushing it and how loud do the fans get? If you're emulating ps3/switch are the fans gonna be going nonstop?
It's pretty loud if you aren't good at tuning that sort of thing out; depends upon the person. A pair of headphones or noise cancelling earbuds does wonders if it bothers you.
96 ips after eight hours.
Might as well go to /vg/ at this point
How would you get games from gog-games to work on steamos?
was wondering this too but some leddit thread says you can just install on windows, transfer the entire folder to your deck, then add it as a non-steam game and it should work. Downloading Ys IX right now myself.
forgot to mention you'll have to enable proton on the game too but that should be obvious
Use lutris/wine then add it as a non steam game
Factorio would be the comfiest game in existence on the Steam Dick.
I've been playing a lot of Mindustry on it and it works perfectly. I'd imagine Factorio would be exactly the same, haven't tried yet though.
To get bodied by people with superior control.
Don't they give controller kids aim bots in these shooters now?
>deck

>overwatch 2
this is the worst deck image I've ever seen and I've seen 'icks all over 'ecks
Fallout 4 as Fallout 3 keeps crashing
Whats your frame rate and settings?
As of now, ultra settings. Frame date is high 30’s to high 40’s.
FO4 Looks like shit regardless. You can probably get a full 60 on high with low shadows.
Im running it 60fps even in towns with low shadows, but aa, high textures etc
post your desktop
I love playing video games on my Valve Steam Deck
>Calling yourself shill in 3, 2, 1....
It's not my job to do that. It's my job to post that statement when I see the thread dip below page 4 of the catalog. And I love my job.
The rage over this device's existence has caused me to ass frick myself with a chainsaw and I am now bleeding to death from the anus.
>deck stopped holding a charge
>only works when plugged in
>shuts off i play a game that's too intensive
I tried a few things and nothing worked. I'm pissed.
Take better care of your shit.
I did you fricking homosexual piece of shit.
>going through my library for local co-op games to put on my Steam Deck
>start up Wizard of Legend to see if it works
>maybe I'll just play a couple runs
>end up playing like 70 hours on my Steam Deck after it'd gathered dust in my library for years
In spite of having a PC in my house that was perfectly capable of running it, playing it on the Deck just felt so much more comfy.
I also like that it lets me play while at my work PC in another room so I can be in meetings/respond immediately to messages while playing for maximum illusion of actually doing work.
PSA: remember to play the battery down to 0 every now and again to keep it healthy
never
Ignore trolls. Above 80% and below 20% are what put the most wear on a battery.
Anon, he's right. Batteries need to run down completely from time to time
Why are these threads so full of bullshitters?
Batteries need a full charge cycle once in a while or they tend to lose their zero point
Will you replay Village in third person, Deckbros?
i want to install a ssd inside of it but im scared
Just be careful to not strip the screws bro and you'll be good.
won't opening it void the warranty?
There's a warranty?
Who gives a frick about warranty? Parts are easy to acquire and there are thousands of videos with step by step instructions to remedy almost any issue short of snapping the motherboard in half.
No, that's bullshit corps gaslit people into believing with those stickers.
it will not.
No, valve made it open intentionally and "semi" encourages it. It'll only void the warranty if you do something stupid.
This shit has me addicted. I've only just managed to break the urge to constantly play it after the recent update broke my save.
If you don't play and love mount and blade 2 at all you're likely;

How much will a battery replacement cost?
$100

Has anyone got the cracked version of Nobeta working on their deck? I am using the IGG version and copied the extracted files onto my deck. The issue is that it's probably missing some .dll and running it through proton does not seem to work. I'll try using Lutris and WINE. This version works fine on Windows.
I'm sorta familliar with Linux, what's the best way to wirelessly transfer files over to my Steam Deck? I don't want to use warpinator since I'm using KDE, can you ssh or sftp into the device? What about KDE Connect?
>can you ssh or sftp into the device
I don't see why not. It is a computer, after all. I'm not sure if the necessary services would be running in game mode, but certainly in desktop mode.
The easiest way might just be some kind of Linux-supported PC folder sync program like Resilio Sync or something, though.
very relevant pic there, you can't play the fricker without keeping it charging because it's a battery sucker piece of garbage
Ordered my deck a week ago, because i dont see myself making an actual pc with the electric prices in my country havent recieved an expected delivery date outside of q4 september-december
Just wondering out of curiosity how long did other late adopters take
I ordered mine on september 24th and received an email yesterday. I live in America, though, so we might be getting preferential treatment.
Yeah i live in greece/europe. It may take q while
Are there any sites that have good custom per game power profiles for the deck? I'm pretty dumb and it all confuses me, but I figure since everyone's got the same deck it'd be simple to just use someone else's settings.

I'm so tempted to get one just for emulation. How is the docked experience on WiiU games?
Asked for wiiU because I know ps2, ps1, gba, snes, psp etc run well
But honestly I'm waiting for Xenia for Lost Odyssey
Whats the battery life on a steam deck?
Depends on what you're playing and how much processing power it uses, as well as screen brightness.
2D indie games like Binding of Isaac, I think I've been able to get around 8 hours out of it.
When's the dock releasing?
who knows
Finished Elden Ring recently, playing it on my morning train commute was beyond comfy
How bad is running Windows off an sd card if I want to use it for gamepass games and nothing else?
It's actually great. Linux gays in these threads like to play pretend but it works perfectly and you can do anything you want
Not a bad idea, I might try that myself.
From what I can tell from youtube videos, it seems to run fine, but I expect in-game performance to be worse than running games in SteamOS.
EXTREMELY based
In game performance is the same. Any hit you would take is made up for by the fact you're not going through 2-3 compatibility layers, because everything is running natively.

I played the original DOOM many times but I never finished it. I want to correct that.
Which one is considered the best version you can play on the deck?
>Which one is considered the best version you can play on the deck
As in what's the best source port in general or just for the deck?
best one I can play on the deck
gzdoom
Should I get a 64 gb version? I'm a bit low on funds, due to this Ukraine stuff.
If you're low on funds you shouldn't get one at all
i want to get one but i know i'll spend most of my time setting things up and customising everything instead of actually playing games
I like that it's possible to add the same program as a non-Steam game multiple times with different arguments. I can have browser-based stuff like Pokemon Showdown or Youtube as self-contained "games" aside from my regular web browser in my library.
>youtube
just get freetube
>install windows
>install playnite to run on boot
>install Tdp switcher and fan programs
Its like I am using a completely different unit to all you gays, and all of this "how can I get x to work" posts make no sense. Everything just runs perfectly.
Realistically how long would I have to wait for a "Steam Deck 2" or a "Steam Deck Light"?
I love the idea of this but it seems pretty bulky as even the Switch is kind of uncomfortable to play in bed unless I'm playing something turn based. Anything action or fast paced (like Splatoon or something) I just don't want to play with anything but a controller.
It'll be announced after christmas
may 2023 = switch 2
deck 2 specs announced after that, probably dropping Q2 2024
>may 2023 = switch 2
Why do people still believe that?
tears of the kingdom release date
mario kart dlc
mario kart dlc will come out till the end of 2023.
So that's if anything proof it won't come in 2023.
device will by over 6 years old by totk
botw was a wii-u/switch release
twilight princess was a gc/wii release
why did you bump on page 1
>why did you bump on page 1
It's just the schizo trying to make the thread reach bump limit while saging.
>device will by over 6 years old by totk
>botw was a wii-u/switch release
>twilight princess was a gc/wii release
So?
These stupid patterns never work, look at the actually current situation isntead.
It's called the ayn loki max, anon
Only $780, what a steal
I don't buy cheap stuff made from Chinese companies. I've learned my lesson with a few emulation machines in the past.
bump
Why is the deck so great?
>beat any games lately?
The last game I beat was 5 days ago and i've had no desire to play anything since.
>new deck thread went straight to 10 page to
lmfao, no one gives a frick
But people said this hasn't been working for years now?
