But to be fair, I haven't played since the original release and the only thing I looked up was the answers that give the most points after the beginning months(because mutatsu fricked me for not lying to him and had to visit like 3-4 times to get one rank up)

For 8 ranks he's just a redundantly stereotypical fatso eating 6 times as much as a normal human while also spouting completely uninteresting crap, and you basically have to worship him and his overrating to get max points. Then he tries to scam you into his cult, get angry when you refuse, only to immediately come back sniveling like a pig because the angry adult hired some goon to rightfully kick his ass. Then it ends on "just b urself lol"
Utter garbage. It's amazing how people were playing up how awesome P3 slinks were in comparison to confidants in P5 when a majority of them are fricking crap.
He's more interesting than 90% of S.Links. He's a genuinely pathetic human being, not a saint like most S.Links are. And he ends up a better person on the end.

I know people like to shit on this but I actually get it. There's a difference between WILLINGLY wanting to do something and having something forced on you. She would've came to the conclusion that she enjoys it enough to continue by herself if she didn't have people breathing down her neck about it without a way to vent. It's probably the more "grounded" of the Social Links in 4.
But according to her, no one was actually breathing down her neck. Everyone was always supportive of whatever she would decide to do. I don't think she would've ever gotten out of her funk because she was the one who was deluding herself into thinking everyone was forcing her to be part of the inn.
It's grounded, but it's sort of aggravating how recursive the characters' developments are in P4. It's like I'm constantly seeing the same shit happen over and over. Everything always just comes full circle. P4's S.Links are just all a bunch of people who don't really know what to do with themselves, only to learn by the end that they just wanna keep doing what they're already doing.
Because they're a bunch of people in the sticks with nothing to live for
NTA, but I always see people say shit like this, like the writing in P4 was meant to be moronic and it's secretly deep or something.

Oh, I'm not using it as a justification. I don't actually like P4, and I say this as an autist who played it like three separate times, then another like 3 for Golden.
That’s the most frustrating part of P4 by far for me. It’s an issue with the structure of the game where they want characters to have development but the solution they always have to come to is that they do the same thing but now like, their motivation for doing it is better, because otherwise they’d have to alter the main story and that would require too much effort. One story like that is fine, but when they’re all like that it starts to feel like none of these fricking people are changing at all.
P3 and P5 are better on this front because it feels less like they’re trying to have “arcs” and more like they’re just exploring different facets of characters that aren’t as visible in the main story. P3 has a lot of bad links but Sun is better than most of 4’s social links combined, and P5 strikes a good balance between subtle development that doesn’t interfere with the main story but still feels meaningful.
P5s links tend to waste a lot of text for nothing. I like Iwai, cool concept, he tries to do best by his son, but two S.Links by Dojima (5 and 6) carry more weight than anything they write for nearly 10 Slinks double the text. Same for most Adult S.Links. And P5 also likes to recycle the problem they had before the S.Link

Link Episodes are better than S.Links for story characters. Ryoji's S.Link in P3P was bad. The only purpose behind Ryoji's S.Link was to add the possibility of becoming lovers. The Link Episodes allow you to be friends with him without all that excess baggage.

The issue with Ikutsuki is that he's completely and thoroughly corrupted by nihilism and he's obsessed with the Fall. This result is something that must happen no matter what; no S.Link can actually change the course of the game's plot. Ikutsuki is not a man who is capable of connected with others. He's already dead inside.
Even if you could somehow S.Link with him, it CANNOT stop him from trying to sacrifice everyone, killing Mitsuru's dad and laughing like a lunatic as he falls from the observatory. He's 100% batshit insane, a complete and total psychopath who is no longer capable of the slightest degree of empathy. He's irreparably broken.

That's not the issue. Bonds go both ways. If the other party feels absolutely nothing interacting with you, then a Social Link can't happen. There is not "Thou art I, I am thou" when interacting with Ikutski. He's a complete void.

Anyone got a great clock level up more than once a Tartarus run? I've still only seen one clock per night but i'm wondering if theres something else I'm missing or I'm just a giga lucklet. Maybe something its one clock a block?

Someone told me it's based on how many fragments total you use inside Tartarus. That doesn't include the clock at the entrance but random clocks that spawn inside do.
In my NG+ I used fragments on every single fricking chest but didn't see the level up clock until the second to last block, at the end of the block too.
I've had it happen twice in one night.
I've gotten it twice on a few runs now. Pretty sure it's about fragment usage. Sometimes you get enough chests to do that, and sometimes you don't. Simple as.
I have seen 3 during the November period so the it's limited once a month claim is bullshit

From what I can tell, certain skills have a higher probability of evolving to specific skills than others. So if you have Magic Ability on a Persona, there's a slightly higher chance that it will mutate to Magic Mastery. This does mean that it's very difficult to have Magic Ability and Magic Ability on the same Persona.
The amount of time needed to get that that shit to work isn't worth it. I spent enough time getting almighty amp, I'm not gunna bother with magic mastery.

You keep the key item so you can fuse the ultimate Personas whenever you want provided you're the approriate level. However, you get no level bonuses unless you build up the S.Link again.
You keep the item but you gotta do them again for the bonus exp and all in one run for Orpheus Telos.

Honestly even without that, by level 90 the Reaper's just no match for you at all.
Some anons told me level 70-80 is a good range to fight him, didn't know Armageddon just one shots him, seems incredibly fricking broken if true, but to be fair you need to create HALAL which is the ultimate Star persona, and I think she's like a level 84 persona or some shit, so at that point it doesn't even seem worth it because by then you're probably already super powerful.
Does the attack value of your weapon affect how much damage your skills do, or is that all from Magic?
The Atk value of your weapon only affects your basic Attack. Persona Skills factor in the Persona's St (Strength) or Ma (Magic). Subsequently, if you found that you don't tend to rely on your normal attack very much, it's probably a good idea to choose a weapon based on its passive.
Incidentally, some weapons actually do affect your stats such as St and Ma, but these are passive effects. The main Atk value will never affect Skills.

You can pass on Morning Star but not Black Viper or Pralaya. I have Messiah with Morning Star+Almighty boost+Amp. It feels random with what they chose to be inheritable or not.

Morning Star can be passed on, but not the rest. That said, we still don't exactly know all the rules. Heaven's Blade is a skill that, ordinarily, only Uriel and Michael can learn, and it can't be passed down to any other Persona. Yet it's possible to obtain it via Skill Change. There might be other skills that can be obtained this way, but the details aren't very well catalogued.

depends on whether the rumor on damage being capped at 200% is correct or not. They get skills that boost an element by 75% but if it's capped at 200% then you can easily get that with the MC's lucifer blade+elem amp+boost and match whatever the P5 personas can do.
Passives definitely aren't capped at 200%. There's hard evidence that we can stack passives sky high if we wanted to. You can straight up reach 5 digit damage numbers by stacking passives and buffs now. Sky's the fricking limit.
This means that at the strongest Persona in the game is Cendrillon. Give her Slash Boost, Slash Amp, Slash Driver, Multi-Target Boost and Apt Pupil, start with another Persona with Auto-Tarukaja and Auto-Rakukaja, cast Debilitate on the enemy, cast Charge on yourself, switch to Cendrillon and you can probably one-shot Elizabeth on Normal with Scarlet Havoc. It's probably not possible to one-shot her on Hard, but even on Merciless you can potentially shave off a massive chunk of her HP with a single attack.
That said, I don't think magic can outperform a full power God's Hand under the same conditions. The base power of God's Hand is too high. Still, I'm 90% certain that magic can outperform every other phys skill other than God's Hand provided you stack every possible passive.
Can slash driver be inherited?
Nope. That's why Cendrillon is the strongest. It's the only Persona in the game that reach quintuple digits using Scarlot Havoc.

I mean there's a TINY degree of hope since we still don't really know all the rules in regards to how Skill Change works. But honestly even without Slash Driver, you can reach insane damage with Scarlot Havoc.
Also, I'm really certain that Scarlet Havoc's damage being "Severe" is a bald-faced lie.
Theres a chance that Merciless cap your damage aswell. I have yet to see anyone reach 5 digits damage on Merciless like you claimed.
Merciless halves damage. You'll probably almost never see quintuple damage numbers unless you specifically use Cendrillon.
If that is true then theurgy is op as frick. No wonder people not playing on merciless says it's easier than P5.
I'm seriously curious as to how Theurgy damage is calculated and what their actual values are. It's said that Scarlet Havoc does "Severe" damage, but if that were true it wouldn't be much stronger than Brave Blade.

Maybe something on the defensive side is calculated differently. I don't think the move descriptions are wrong.
Maybe it doesn't take into account the enemy's Endurance value.
The light, weak, medium, heavy, severe ranking is total bullshit and always has been. It gives you some context i.e. agi->agilao->agidyne->agibarion, but there is little to relate significantly different skills in the same descriptor, only by testing can you tell. Usually higher cost skills are better in some way but even that is not 100%
Yeah they all have drive skills, which is a 75% damage boost on their own. Seitei-Taisei is the first persona to learn Auto-Matarukaja aswell at 46, a whooping 29 levels earlier than the next persona that can learn it.
DLC personas are basically cheating.

I hope we eventually get mods that give SMT skills to some personas. Stuff like Fire of Sinai and Death Flies, or even Phys-scaling elemental attacks.
I'm going to assume it's important to level up stats and get the school related S. Links out of the way first, right? And that the ones at night or weekends like Monk & Maya will always be available?
If I want to max s links in a playthrough what should be my overall priorities?
Prioritize school S.Links.
At night you should be doing Link Episodes or eating out. Minimize your Tartarus runs; go to Tartarus at most twice a month.
Bring matching persona. Prioritize school mates SLink over anyone outside of school.
That and increase social stats at night. Don't work part time jobs that increase dual social stats, they give minimal amount of stats despite giving you 1 full note.
If a school-based link is available, do it. No exceptions.

I'm level 60 and just hit November, kind of disappointed that the game ends in January apparently I thought I could play until March. I'd like to be at least level 85-90 by the time I beat the game, but anons say the Reaper gives a shit ton of XP and you can grind off of it once you get strong enough to beat it, but they recommended being like 70-80 before fighting it. I also learned that the CLOCK feature only levels them up by 13 levels max, like you can't go up 25-30 levels with the clock, only 13, which is lame. Junpei and Akihiko are like 25 levels behind my main party, so I'd have to use the clock TWICE to get them caught up.
armaggedon spam on reaper is all u need to catch up on levels anon, the great clock is useless as soon as u reach level 88, your party memebers will catch up in no time

yes you will especially like this game, everyone generally agrees Persona 5 had a dogshit setting and story but loved the gameplay additions. Persona 3 Remake is just Persona 3's story which is considered the best (Persona 4 has the best cast) but with Persona 5 gameplay additions. It doesnt feel dated because of how much QOL shit there is, but you will feel the age in the script and some creative decisions. For example this is the very first game with social links so its pretty rough around the edges and they only slightly softened it. Very very little free time, even less than Persona 4, its expected you dont max social links on your first run unless you use a guide .

Hierophant was one of the first SL I maxed out, can't even remember what persona you get for doing it, don't think it's a super high level one. I know Thor is for the Chariot SL and he's only level 64.
Is tempest slash better than deathbound?
No? Or at least I don't see how? It hits multiple times but Deathbound does heavy level damage, so I guess it depends on if you want to take AoE light damage over one hit burst damage. Tempest Slash does more hits but less damage per hit. Deathbound hits all enemies, so I personally would keep Deathbound.
Wait till you get Siegfried he's a really good PHY persona, at least for around level 60. He starts off with Charge, which doubles the damage of your next PHY attack.

The thing with Tempest Slash is that it gives you more chances to crit the enemy. Deathbound is one hit only. However, Deathbound targets all enemies while Tempest Slash is one target only, so Deathbound wins out anyway.
That's not how crit works. Either they all crit or they don't
Tempest Slash is literally worse than Ose's starting attack that hits 2-4 times on everything, I don't know why they made it his final skill.
Deathbound hits about as hard as 3 hits from a weak skill, maybe even a little harder, so its good to have for consistency, but if you were to land all 4 hits you would get slightly more damage than deathbound.

I found the best things to buy were generally armor, weapons are nice but most people get better weapons from boss chests, exceptions are Ken (fuse Cuchuchuchalin to get the mats) and Koromaru since he gets a tarukaja armor to replace his tarukaja knife. Basically any weapons that give boosts are good to get, and then just get nice armor. Boost rings can be nice and cheap but you might prefer more survivability. One tip is to make sure to check who can equip what armor/feet first because sometimes the armor is for the wrong people (ex Str armor that can only be worn by Mitsuru and Yukari)
Also you can buy gems in the bar which is something I forgot about early on because of how expensive it was early on. But eventually the costs are nothing so you dont really need to worry about fusing.

he was about the same but in reload you have theurgies which hit like a truck / give massive buffs / the game rains Soma's on you / fuuka can restore all your sp and revive everyone / party members are directly controllable
also, the "passive skills". characteristics completly break the game, like fuuka passive skills make it so when you get hit with a weakness you recieve basically normal dmg. junpei crits a lot more, aigis hits a lot more, yukari basically spends no sp on healing, etc.

I beat Reload the other day. I liked the nice mini-links that the Linked Episodes added, but some of the Personas they picked for their ults make no sense. Why make Byakko Koromaru's LE5 unlock when they're of different arcana? Is it just because theyre both dogs?

Just beat it. It's fairly tanky, and uses Concentrate+Megidolaon to just one shot you. It also constantly heals 300HP every turn, and it casted Diarahan once, so you're in it for the long haul. Then again, I accidentally used Mahamaon and it missed instead of being blocked, so I guess you could just cheese it.

he's mistaken, the guys have 2 kinds of dorm event bonuses too. But they also have linked episodes, so do everything.
But just remember to do it both dorm events twice, so you're hanging out with everyone 6 times to unlock all their bonuses. After that you can still do gardening for sp tomato stonks and if you hang out with the girls you can get social link points although by then you'll unlock the PC fortune teller

Yeah, pretty much. Some things are great improvements, but there's a lot of stuff that's dumbed down to be easier and a lot of new mechanics make the game baby mode even on merciless.
I'm up to right before the Hanged boss, and aside from like two of the mini bosses that I simply had to build a specific Persona for (which made it easy), Merciless has been pretty much a breeze? Maybe it's because I have experience with the other SMT games, and I only just played FES for the first time 3 years ago.
Persona was literally never a hard game but people like to pretend it is for some reason

In reload? Physical crits on ice, shock and distress. Ice for sure, shock and distress just have increased chance for physical to crit. I think that's about it.
