I played the Legendary Edition last year after giving Andromeda a shot a month before. The original trilogy still hold up in their own ways, all three were pretty fun. The 3rd obviously dropped the ball in the last quarter of the game, and if you were a fan of the ME2 cover system or if it was your first ME I could see how it could be annoying.
Andromeda though, I put that game off for close to a decade or maybe legitimately a decade and I have to say it’s the better game. The character creation and all its options were horrid, and the characters weren’t too interesting, but that all aside the areas, the dev teams dedication to all the lore, and frankly the gameplay for however funny looking it might have been sometimes was absolutely a plus. The way they integrated the menu system was a big step up and I hope they keep most of Andromedas interface in the next installment. Also I’m much older now so I sort of grew attached to the characters a bit, even my own player character. I kinda hope it’s not the last we hear of that protagonist.

No yeah for sure, the shadows and characters looked silly but the interface, menu system, quest log, and gun play is superior. They should build on that 100%.

Im replaying this game now and even though I like the crew, missions and working for cerberus story the combat is fricking shit. Like everyone rags on me1 combat but its not any better and the weapons lacking custmoization and any real stats just fricking blows. I wish the first game wasnt so short its perfect otherwise
yeah the first game let you take any gun and adjust the fire rate and power in all kinds of neat ways. make a shotgun that overheats in one shot that blasts homies in 1 hit or make a fast fire rate one that flames them or all kinds of stuff.
