I played through one of my bucketlist games co-op via RPCN.

      Kneel before RPCS3

You have really fricking shit taste. Imagine playing a game where you play literal subhuman garbage.

Besides resolution and ray-tracing, what exactly IS your understanding of graphic technology?

If I stick a big component into the motherboard, it makes everything look better.

Information for changing the surface appearance of a 3d object using lighting effects instead of texture data.

        Anonymous

No dude. Even your basic ass concrete wall texture is a shader. Everything is a shader. A shader is a piece of code that runs on the GPU, which determines the appearance of an element on screen, be it 2D, 3D, a textured material, a UI component, whatever.

Did the NES have shaders? What about the PS1? Why is it only PS2/PS3/GCN ect that I have to sit around waiting for shaders to complie?

Not that other guy, but shaders are used in 3d graphics and SNES and before were just 2d sprites and layers. Ps1 and N64 were so simple that emulators can compile them in realtime but later consoles get pretty complicated so emulators have to depend on caches to run at a reasonable pace

This was the only way I was able to play P5 back in 2019. No regrets since Royal looks gay.

      Based. Also
P5 in PS3 or nintendo which one looks and feels better?

        Anonymous

I wouldn't know, I've only touched P5 in the emulator. I wouldn't say it looks good, but it runs with no errors. When I was playing at the time there was a weird bug where the audio would get glitchy, but pausing and unpausing the emulation would fix it (wrote a macro for it)
I have a complete shitbox so I played in 720p but I'm no stranger playing like a poor.

Thanks! I forgot that P5 was not on the switch lol I played P5R and was looking for another playthrough. Thanks for the info it looks great! Switch just had some mods like 4K and 60 fps. Also baton pass. The additional content wasn't that great . Kamoshida's palace is my favorite

Black person they feel the same. They're the same game, Royal just has more content. If I had to choose one, I'd say Royal just because you start with Baton Pass as an inherent mechanic instead of a Confidant power up

Ok thanks I already played persona 5 royal and completed it I wanted to replay it (but minus the addition stuff like grapling hook xd) I want to replay it

I just bought a controller for my phone and it has shown me that the PS2 was amazing. Can't believe I ever played native games on these things. Thank you technology.

The game does some really weird fricking shit and is basically one big hardware abuse edge case.

It's magic, it manages to emulate the crazy ps3 architecture at a decent performance.

        >at a decent performance.
I'm getting like 20 fps at best on rdr1 and refuse to download xenia for a single game

RDR performs like shit on the real hardware. I get the same performance as you in that game but good performance in everything else I've played.

I'm pretty sure it's just that specific game since my R&C games ran fine. Switch port is probably the better option for emulation even though I'm sure the quality is worse than what I have now.

Can you play MGS4 on it yet or does it still run like shit?

Yes with canary patches and the optimized settings

Please advice, what RPCS3 version and what patches exactly?
Not sure if it's wise to even play MGS4 as I still remember almost falling asleep with my controller in my hand while watching the cutscene after the motorcycle sequence back in 2010 or something...

          Anonymous

Latest unless there's issues with it and it should be all on the rpcs3wiki

            Anonymous

I clearly remember some guy made his on fork for MGS4 because RPCS3 devs didn't want to include his patches to the mainline build.
This is one of the reasons I don't want to touch RPCS3 unless I really need to.
            But if things have changed...

I get happy whenever see that screen, because when I see it's precompiling shaders I know that I can get it out of the way instead of dumbfrick moron developers making it compile on the fly resulting in traversal stutter. It's quite literally a basic configuration flag for every modern game engine and many developers just don't turn it on while drooling on their keyboards so that games like ready or not have to stutter every time you play a map for the first time

That's the price you pay with modern programmable rendering pipelines
At least shader caches are a thing. Shame they get invalidated so frequently by updates.
