I have literally never experienced the former. The latter really only applies to CEL-240 and the final bosses when they are in their neutral states, which effectively means they are not attacking and are just watching you to see if you fire so they can dodge. Stop attacking bosses when they are in "defense" mode and attack them when they leave themselves exposed to attacks.

double gats is the easiest fricking way in the game to max out an enemy AC's stagger bar, and while yes melee weapons do that better, you have to actually be within melee range to use them which is something almost NONE of the bosses will allow you to do unless they just shrug off your melee in favor of their own

There's no skill ceiling in AC6, it's all about some basic direction dodges and doing the stagger -> burst damage minigame. Not only it's Souls-fied, it's an extremely gay version of it that doesn't account for the fact that you shoot on the move with unprecendent Souls controls decoupled from camera which is actually what completely trivializes most of the game

The ironic part about this (again, proof you don't play these games, you just post webms and repeat things you see on Ganker) is that even with the hard lock, most of the most powerful builds online are extreme lightweights using extremely lightweight weaponry which are constantly in a state of evasion and mitigate damage by breaking locks and evading targeting because of the complexity of FCS/Firearm Spec/Recoil Control making tons of firefights completely one-sided. In fact hard-lock is provably punishing, because it causes your capacity to maintain actual damage to be reduced and while you can follow a target (poorly) in terms of camera, it doesn't mean anything if you miss 80% of your shots.

I keep seeing people whine about the grunts in AC6 being too easy but not only is that literally the whole point of basic MTs in AC games, AC6 actually bothers to start throwing more difficult ones at you as the game goes on. PCA MTs are actually fairly challenging
That's why I regularly question what they're implying. If they've played literally any other AC title, they'd know MTs are effectively just target practice and have never, in any capacity, been a threat in any AC title other than the first two in AC1 (which can only be considered a threat because you have no understanding of the game's mechanics at that point).
There's plenty of them that fire missiles and cannon shots. You have to be ludicrously far away for even those MTs to not fire at you or target you.

What weapon are you trying to make useful that isn't? I'll sit here and break down precisely what you are doing wrong and how you can make that weapon function properly. There was a massive-scale rebalance a while ago that made a few of the broken weapons less broken, and many other weapons significantly more viable.

Every single Armored Core generation has had a sequel title with a glut of new content released later, with the first in the generation being the most content-lite and barebones. This won't be an exception to that rule, though the only reason why they haven't said anything is obviously because Shadow of the Erdtree is launching soon and they don't want to have their franchises competing with each other.

It's because (other than 3-LR) the systems are massively reworked between generations, as well as the aesthetics and most of the engine. Everything changes to such a dramatic degree that new parts are legitimately incompatible with previous games because they are built around systems that only exist in the present generation, which means that as they create the first game in the generation, they're setting up all of the building blocks and the space with which to use them. The sequel title only really needs to capitalize on that new environment and make tons more parts, enemies, and scenarios to fight things in. If you look at AC4 against ACFA or ACV against ACVD, you'll notice a staggering difference in the bulk of content.

The risk is mitigated by the fact that the engine and layout are already figured out. It can sell less and still make a profit because they aren't creating an entirely new title and framework, but just more content, a new campaign, and generally more creative tools to play with. In fact, if they were smart about this, they'd sell it as a DLC expansion rather than a fully new title, so they can retain the same installbase.

As someone who bought ACV at launch, I thought the mercenary style gameplay of the previous games would work very well with multiplayer, randomly encountering other players on missions. Of course that isn't what the game was, so I wasted my money and didn't enjoy it very much

I quit playing after the mission where you pilot a completely different AC then the one you made. Wasn't having fun against any of darksouls bosses and that forced narrative shit was the last straw.

I loved this game, probably gonna try to play through the rest of the series in the future but the other parts are supposedly way harder from what i've heard so i'm scared.
Also i love ALLMIND.
The first three are only really hard because the control scheme takes a long time to get used to and feel comfortable with, once you do you feel like a metal god. Beating Ares in AC2 for the first time when I was like 14 was an absolure rush
I wish they fix the missions and gameplay in later entries or make a narrative that isn't a one off thing. You can blame Dark Souls popularity for the shitposts but damn I have been waiting for a long time to see this franchise get another chance in the limelight with a new direction.
