God I wish there was a way to tell steam to not control the light at.
Dualsense with a battery upgrade
What does the batter upgrade entail? I've been using a wired DS4 but it's slowly breaking down so I might go wireless now.
Get a bigger capacity one from Amazon And swap it out
Pretty simple
I've recently been playing around with a Dualshock 2 to USB adapter and it works great, especially having overclocked its polling rate. DsHidMini even thinks it's a legit PS3 controller. But I'm currently sticking to Steam/RPCS3 mode; the PCSX2 mode is going apeshit since I updated my version of DsHidMini (it's not just happening with using a DS2; it's also with all the actual DS3s I've thrown at it as well).
Otherwise, is my option too.
What adapter do you use? Raphnet?
>Raphnet
Nah, I didn't have the patience to put up with his limited stock or killer shipping fees/times. Here's what I use currently:

Anything snoy is guaranteed to be schlock
I like my snoy phone
i have an xbox one controller. its epic.
It's my favorite controller out there but the d-pad is worse than the 360 d-pad. It's got great weight, nice buttons, and the triggers feel really nice in games that support them.
bump
yeah I like the solid feel it gives you holding it and steam has full support for it you can calibrate and setup is pretty easy, but they're prone to stick drift I had to look up a youtube vid to take it apart and fix it
How about the latest Xbox controller? Haven't used one since 360. Doesn't really look any different from a xbone controller.
You know the good stuff on the 360 like the size, good bumpers, the good guide button, and the good sticks? Yeah, they're all bad now. It feels like it's 20% smaller, the recessed guide button sucks ass (This is more an issue on the Xbone since it's your screenshot button and only presses if you pretty much press all the way, there's a massive amount of travel), the bumpers feel way too raised and small, and the sticks are like at least 30% smaller and feel worse. The only noticeable difference between the Xbone and SeX controllers is the d-pad being better and the screenshot button, it still retains all those other issues.
Keep in mind it also lacks gyro which is very helpful in games that do feature aiming, unless you're one of the few who hates that as a feature.
That controller dies pretty quick too. It's fine in my experience, but I use those stick extensions.
I have both a PS4 and PS5 controller.
PS4 controller feels so good to hold but yet it's always disconnecting and has some stick drift. PS5 controller feels too bulky to hold but it still works.
The right stick on mine started acting up a month ago. Got it not long after PS5 released. Though I had another that came with my PS5 I left in the box until now. I think it's comfy and the rumble is good in games that support it natively. The triggers are neat but I can take it or leave it, depends on the implementation.
I use a PS5 controller at home on my PC simply because I have one. It's pretty good, probably the most comfortable playstation controller. Right now I'm traveling so I picked up a wired 8bitdo SN30Pro and I think it's pretty damn good for under $30. Can't really speak for its longevity or quality but I'm impressed it even has rumble at that price point.
How prone is the Dualsense to stick drift? My joycons and Switch Pro survived about 4 years before they went crazy
Buy a controller with hall effect sticks or you're just pissing money into the wind.
Something like this 8BitDo? What do the hall sensors actually do?
Sticks used by most controllers use potentiometers to register movement. Because reading inputs is based on physical contact, they will eventually wear down and cause stick drift. In other words, stick drift is an inevitability.
Hall effect sticks use magnetic fields to read inputs. Because there is no physical contact, those sticks won't drift (unless you make them lose their magnetism, which is far more unlikely to happen).
Interesting, have to keep it in mind
>hall effect, no stick drift
>works on every platform
>way cheaper
What's the catch here? They sound way too good to be true, why don't everyone just buy these then?
Chinese
Implying quality control issues? Is 8bitdo bad with that?
The way I see it stick drift is so commonplace now that first party controllers are pretty much in the same boat except more expensive for no reason.
Most people are uninformed, I also forgot about it for a while even though it was recommended to me by a friend some time ago.
Why use them and have controllers that last a lifetime when you can make people pay for $60+ controllers every other year instead?
Gulikit Zen Pro is the superior controller they're the ones making the hall effect sensors. The 8bitdo is the Chinese knock off. They're working on the PS5 sticks now. Once that releases it's GG.
>2.9 stars on Amazon
Yeah, sure thing shill
I was going to get the 8bitdo one because it has back buttons, and from what I can see the Gulikit one doesn't.
>all of them use the switch face button layout
What the frick
gulikit and 8bitdo are both chinese
the hall effect sticks in the bluetooth 8bitdo ultimate are direct from gulikit too
Hal is better but... that doesn't actually stop the joysticks from fricking up. Because joysticks still require a physical component to reset them to 0. N64 joysticks didn't go bad because of potentiometers either, just that the stick will be loose. I own that 8bitdo controller and it's holding up well for the joystick, but the analog triggers are feeling a bit loose and required me to use the software to reset it's zones a bit. It's still a better controller than most though.
there is no catch, it's just a chinesium controller with sticks that are slightly more expensive than regular ones
I had 8bitdo pro controller before and the back paddle/buttons broke after a few months, if you take it apart you'll see they use a really dumb mechanism for actuation and these will break sooner or later on every controller
Still ysing my 360 controller
My PS5 controller just started drifting after a little over a year.
My PS4 controller drifted after 5 years. My PS1 and PS2 controllers never drifted.
I actually really like the Dualsense, I thought it would be too heavy but its been a few days and I actually enjoy having it in my hands. I just wish the default one with the console wasn't white because I'm a nasty person who likes to eat while doing stuff and its making me wash my hands before touching the thing everytime
You should be washing your hands anyway, what the frick anon
Get everything in white now so you'll stop being nasty for good
Shit is more fun when you can just be lethargic and shit while doing it. Getting up to wash my hands every 20 minutes after a handful of doritos kills the vibes
Triggers are a lil bit too sensitive but this is my go to emulation controller.
dualsense edge
I don't even have a hint of drift with deadzone set to 0 in steam input but I am curious when is guilikit releasing the hall effect sticks for this thing
