It's been nearly 20 years since then. Someone has to have tried using one of these and discovered the perfect controller that isn't the Xbox 360 Controller.
Evolution occurs do to environmental influences, but no games have come out which require more than the DualShock introduced. You've got niche control peripherals for things like driving sims or rhythm games, but even those have the option to play with a DS-style controller.
>everyone still sleeping on backpaddles
You're probably better off not knowing anyway, just thinking about how consoles and the average controller are cucked out of them, and in turn default control schemes, is depressing.
The M30 is pretty great, but I heard nothing but bad things about the ones with sticks.
>You're probably better off not knowing anyway
copyright trolling lol
also I second whichever anon is perplexed at 6 face buttons controllers not being standard
that thing looks uncomfortable going off the original wii classic controller
Honestly, I like the ergos and it feels surprisingly sturdy. The only thing I don't like is how fricking stiff the face buttons are. They feel awful to depress.
They peaked right there, literally the best form factor that allows to play 2D and 3D games on consoles. Trackpads and gyro are some attempts at optimizing aiming but personally I think those are gimmiks.
It devolved, 6 buttons should've became the standard. When I first saw that the DC controller only had 4 buttons I had to do a double take, it was a direct downgrade from the Saturn 3D pad.
Nintendo did some experimentation during N64 and GC but eventually went back to that damn diamond. We're in too deep to be rid of it now
>make an unconventional controller with new and innovative features >nobody wants it because it's easier to just use a familiar controller design than learn to use a new one >games won't be designed to take full advantage of your new features because most people have normal controllers
They did but we denied them of their evolution
>Yo pass the controller
>I'm trying it keeps coming back!

gyro aiming is an upgrade over the sticks
they haven't needed to, sony got it right on the second try
Neither have snoybrains
Can anyone name other consoles where a controller that was released post launch became the default? Switch maybe?
original xbox had the duke and the controller S
>Cars haven't evolved since the 1920s...
Good.
If anything they've gotten worse.
I just dropped this piece of shit for the first time, only fell like 1 foot to the ground aaaaaaaand it's broken.
that thing looks uncomfortable going off the original wii classic controller
Yeah it feels kind of weird.
I take my previous post back though, it's not broken anymore, the joystick popped and became unstuck.
8bitdo is the biggest scam in the controller industry. I had two and they both broke within 2 months of light gaming.

Huh. I've smacked mine into walls, floors, and everything in between while using VR and mine isn't broken. And I smack it at full force.

of course, you homosexuals shit your pants every time someone mentions gyro

if it aint broke
thank the je-I mean video game investors!
do they really need to?
only thing that really needs to happen is paddles being standard instead of a deluxe version
look man I'm trying to fricking grow a third arm but its not working.
If it isn't broken don't fix it.
Why don't controllers keep up with the evolution of our hands?

Is that PS1 themed Dualsense REALLY going to remain a Jim Ryan exclusive? Frick sake, this is even the perfect year for it.
